Chapter 116 - Chapter 115: The Grand Master’s Offering, Caught Miserably?

Su Han did not know what to say for a moment. The Knights of Favonius had always been very poor, and with their previous lackadaisical state, being given a title was already the limit. He had never expected them to offer any kind of surprise.

After a long while, Jean picked up the potion Rosalyne had given and said, "Let me change your medicine. It's getting late."

"Mm."

When the bandages were removed one by one, Jean could not help covering her mouth. She had imagined how serious Su Han's injuries were, but she had never expected the wounds on his body to almost cut straight across him.

Jean's eyes gradually reddened, and she asked in a trembling voice, "What exactly happened back then?"

"It's really hard to explain in just a few words."

"But I want to know."

Jean gently stroked his muscles as she spoke. Even if she could not share his pain, she at least wanted to know the whole story.

Seeing that she was about to cry again, Su Han could only explain everything from beginning to end. Otherwise, Jean would keep blaming herself.

When she heard that the enemy was actually Lumine's brother, Jean exclaimed in shock, "Her blood relative?"

"Yes, her real older brother. But Lumine slept for five hundred years, while he traveled across the nations five hundred years ago. He probably fell into corruption in the end. Now he wants to destroy the entire world. I've already told you everything, so you don't need to blame yourself anymore."

"Who said I'm blaming myself? I just feel that I owe you. I almost forgot to ask about what happened this morning. And what about that woman just now?"

Faced with Jean's questioning, Su Han did not hide anything. He told her about the encounter in the forest and how he treated the woman's disfigurement.

"But aren't the Fatui your enemies? Why cooperate with them, and even help that woman receive treatment?"

Jean was very puzzled, and also felt a little jealous.

Su Han explained, "At first, I also thought she was a madwoman. But as we talked more, I realized she was just someone who went astray because of deep affection. You might not know this, but the Fatui are not united. The Harbingers from different regions also dislike each other. For example, the current Harbinger of Fontaine secured her position by killing the previous one."

"So I thought that instead of tearing things apart with her, it would be better to observe quietly for now. In the end, I found that although Rosalyne has a terrible temper, she still has a kind side. If communication can stabilize Mondstadt's situation, why not do it?"

To ease the tension between them, Su Han practically risked his life making things up. However, there was one thing he did not lie about, and that was that the witch really had changed. In the original course of events, her hatred toward Venti was completely irreconcilable.

Yet today, she not only did not explode in anger, she even let him appraise her potion. This was undeniably a huge breakthrough.

Su Han even wondered if there was a way to make the Fatui behave themselves while also avoiding suspicion from Snezhnaya. Although it would be difficult, he was willing to work toward it.

Jean fell silent for a moment, then looked up and asked, "Can there really be a chance to breathe? If you give our Knights some time to develop, I swear I can suppress the Fatui."

"If we don't try, how will we know? All right, after you finish applying the medicine, you should rest too. Don't forget that your own injuries haven't fully healed either."

"Mm."

Jean nodded gently, but her thoughts were elsewhere. Perhaps Su Han's contact with the other side was for Mondstadt and comic sales, but the pressure Rosalyne gave her was simply too great. Every word the other woman said struck straight at the core.

If she continued being weak, she would probably lose everything.

Half an hour later, Jean left the comic shop. Instead of going home, she headed in the opposite direction.

That night, Su Han was fast asleep when the door was gently pushed open by a figure. If he had not been injured, he would have reacted immediately, but his current condition had greatly reduced his perception.

The figure stood by the bed, hesitating for a long time, before slowly undoing the buttons of her clothes.

"Maybe we are very poor. Maybe my figure is not as good as hers. Maybe I am not as straightforward as she is."

"But all I can give you is my heart."

"I hope you won't betray me."

After taking off her clothes, the figure was still shy, but in the end she chose to slip in.

In his sleep, Su Han felt someone hugging him. Her body was burning hot and carried a faint, refreshing fragrance. Several times he tried to see her face clearly, but in the end he fell asleep again from sheer exhaustion.

As for the figure who slipped under the covers, she had mustered infinite courage, yet the moment she got in, she lost consciousness due to drunkenness.

The next day.

Brilliant sunlight pierced through the clouds and shone into the room. Bathed in the light, Su Han slowly woke up. For some reason, he felt a dull pressure on his chest. When he reached out and touched it, he instantly snapped awake.

He touched a person, and that person was completely naked.

"Wait, I think I was sleeping alone last night. Then in my dream, someone hugged me. Could it be…"

Su Han's expression turned strange. He gently lifted the blanket, only to see that the person was actually Jean, and she was not wearing a stitch of clothing.

What on earth was going on?

Su Han was completely confused. In that instant, he had even considered that the person in his arms might be Shenhe. Given her lack of understanding of worldly matters, it was possible she could have come over at night if she was scared, even without clothes. But why was Jean in his arms?

Just as Su Han was thinking about what to do, Jean's eyebrows twitched. She let out a soft murmur and woke up as well, their gazes locking together.

"This is bad!"

Seeing her pupils shrink, Su Han knew she was about to scream, so he quickly covered her mouth with his hand.

"Shh. Let me say this first. I was just sleeping here. I have no idea why you're here. I swear this is true. After you left yesterday, I fell asleep very quickly."

Hearing his explanation, Jean finally recalled everything. When she realized she had passed out before taking the final step, she wished she could crawl into a crack in the ground. This would be utterly humiliating if it got out.

Just as the two of them were at a loss over what to do, voices could be heard outside the door.

"Su Han must be very tired. Otherwise, he would have been up by now. Do you think we should buy him breakfast?"

"No problem. But what should a patient eat? I'm not very familiar with that, Paimon."

Su Han and Jean exchanged looks. Of all the things that could happen, this was the worst. It was Paimon and Lumine outside. If they found out, with Paimon's big mouth, something was bound to slip sooner or later.

"Then why don't we ask him? It's already past eight. He should be awake."

"That makes sense."

Just as Jean was about to get dressed and flee, the doorknob outside suddenly turned. Watching the crack in the door slowly widen, despair was written all over the Grand Master's face.
