Chapter 256 - Chapter 255: Raiden Ei’s Enlightenment, the Darkness Over Inazuma Finally Disperses

"How is Seirai Island doing now?"

Raiden Ei took quite a while to process everything before finally looking up at Su Han.

Although the past could no longer be repaired, correcting things in time was still a good choice.

"I already handed the island over to Su Han. Here... this is the contract."

Kitsune Saiguu leisurely tossed a sheet of paper over.

It was the agreement signed a few days ago.

Raiden Ei glanced through the contents and discovered that Su Han had exchanged supplies for the rights to the island. She immediately asked curiously:

"Is Inazuma lacking supplies?"

She had originally thought it was given away for free, yet it turned out to be a transaction.

Hearing those words, Kitsune Saiguu nearly lost control on the spot. She glared at Ei irritably.

"Continue reading your files. Otherwise my temper is only going to get worse."

Alright then.

She got scolded again.

Raiden Ei did not dare argue back and lowered her head to continue reading the documents.

After the Seirai Island incident, many more things had happened.

All the irrelevant parts had already been removed by Su Han.

The later sections covered the war involving Watatsumi Island, Delusions, and the collusion of the Kujou Clan.

Photographs were attached as evidence, making everything undeniable.

But even without them, Raiden Ei was willing to trust Kitsune Saiguu.

After finishing the entire report, Raiden Ei frowned tightly. She had never expected the rebellion on Watatsumi Island to also involve the Fatui.

"These Snezhnayan pests are truly despicable."

Ei's tone was incomparably cold.

She could tolerate the envoys of foreign nations operating in Inazuma. After all, espionage existed in every country.

But manipulating her people like this was simply not treating her, the Electro Archon, with any respect at all.

Su Han glanced into the distance and added:

"You underestimate the Fatui. They've been researching the remains of dead gods for a very long time. Orobashi was only one experimental site among many. Other nations have them too."

Raiden Ei looked at him and asked curiously:

"How did you obtain all this information?"

Su Han grinned.

"Well, that's because the Fatui made a move against me first. I just didn't expect to uncover this much while investigating."

Raiden Ei fell silent and lowered her head to continue reading.

The following content was something she was familiar with.

The Vision Hunt Decree.

The Sakoku Decree.

The pillars supporting Inazuma, the heads of the two major commissions, had both betrayed the nation.

Although they claimed they were merely taking advantage of the Fatui, in reality, the entire cost was paid by Inazuma itself.

For example, all trade ports had been completely shut down.

At first, the effects may not have been obvious, but after several years, prices throughout Inazuma skyrocketed.

Meanwhile, the Kanjou Commission, which controlled trade, used its wealth to buy up resources in massive quantities before reselling them at inflated prices.

And that was not all.

They also suppressed kind-hearted foreign merchants.

Even someone like Raiden Ei, who knew little about commerce, understood what kind of consequences such development would bring.

At that moment, she suddenly realized how foolish her earlier question had been.

Inazuma was not merely lacking supplies.

With those two families controlling the nation, it was already fortunate the entire population had not starved to death.

If the Kanjou Commission exploited the people, then the Tenryou Commission were executioners destroying Inazuma.

They pushed through the Vision Hunt Decree, reducing countless masters into empty shells of themselves.

And that was not even the worst part.

They also embezzled compensation intended for fallen soldiers and pocketed military supplies for personal profit.

After finishing the entire file, Raiden Ei covered her face with her hands and finally understood how enormous her mistakes had been.

At that moment, Yae Miko entered with a group of shrine maidens carrying late-night meals, desserts, and fine alcohol.

Looking at her best friend covering her face with both hands, Yae Miko roughly guessed what had happened.

She instructed the shrine maidens to place down the food before patting Raiden Ei's shoulder and sighing.

"You finally understand how I felt back then, don't you?"

"I'm sorry, Miko."

Raiden Ei lowered her hands.

The gaze that should have been sharp and wise was now filled only with exhaustion and regret.

An apology delayed by five hundred years had finally arrived.

Yet Yae Miko could not laugh at all. Instead, her nose felt slightly sour.

So many heroes.

So many craftsmen.

So many citizens.

All of them had been buried beneath disastrous policies.

But now was not the time for blame.

Yae Miko forced herself to brighten up and urged:

"Alright, alright. As long as you understand your mistakes now, that's enough. Let's eat first. Don't waste my hard work! Every single bite must be finished.

I've looked forward to a reunion meal like this for a very, very long time."

As she spoke, her voice gradually lowered.

A line of tears slowly flowed down her face.

Kitsune Saiguu also remembered Makoto.

Only Ei continued focusing on eating.

It was not because she was unfeeling. Rather, all her tears had already dried up on that day long ago.

Now was a moment of happiness.

Not only had she reconciled with Yae Miko, but she had also reunited with an old friend.

This was practically the happiest day she had experienced in five hundred years.

"You all aren't hungry? Then I'm going to eat everything myself later."

"You wouldn't dare."

Yae Miko raised her brows, placing her hands on her waist with an angry expression.

Meanwhile, Kitsune Saiguu picked up her chopsticks and smiled.

"You two can keep arguing. I'll eat the tempura. It's been so long since I last had this."

"Wait for me!"

The atmosphere gradually became lively.

Everyone chatted noisily together, and the smile on Ei's face never disappeared.

Although she did not understand how to joke around, she truly loved scenes like this.

Several hours later.

The sky gradually brightened.

Everyone had drunk some alcohol and was slightly tipsy.

As for Su Han, he was completely out of it and had directly fallen asleep on Kitsune Saiguu's lap.

Seeing that it was getting late, Raiden Ei asked:

"What should I do next?"

"You should be asking yourself that question. Even if you don't know how to handle political affairs, you should at least possess a basic understanding of how situations develop."

Kitsune Saiguu no longer intended to indulge her.

If Ei wanted everyone to reunite together again, then she had to accept responsibility.

Raiden Ei looked toward Yae Miko for help, but the latter returned a helpless expression.

"Sorry, but now it's your turn to think things through."

"Th-this..."

Raiden Ei revealed a troubled expression.

Having her clean up this mess really was difficult.

Now even her strategist was drunk unconscious. It was truly worrying.

Unable to find anyone to help her, Raiden Ei suddenly remembered the final sentence Su Han had told her before they left.

"If they ask how to correct your mistakes, then think about what Inazuma currently needs most!"

What does Inazuma need?

Raiden Ei looked back at the documents beneath her feet. She picked them up again, skimmed through them roughly, and gradually began to form an idea.

Perhaps she could do it this way.

Raiden Ei picked up a pen and started writing while rereading the documents.

One hour later.

Daylight had fully arrived.

Warm sunlight pierced through the clouds and shone onto the table.

After checking everything once more, Raiden Ei handed the papers to Kitsune Saiguu.

"Help me look this over. If there are any problems, please point them out directly!"

Kitsune Saiguu gently shook her head.

Seeing Ei's confused expression, she explained:

"The ones governing now are you and Yae Miko. I'm already retired. You don't want me to literally work myself to death, do you?"

After thinking for a moment, Ei turned and handed the papers to Miko instead.

"Fine, I'll do it."

Yae Miko accepted the documents and carefully read through them.

First was the repeal of the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree. Every restriction under those decrees would be completely abolished.

Second was the punishment of the two great clans.

Ei specifically marked this section.

To prevent concentrated power from appearing again in the future, the two families would face devastating punishment.

However, Ei herself did not understand reform, so she added a note.

[I do not understand reform, but I am willing to accept suggestions.]

Seeing this sentence, Yae Miko felt that Ei had finally matured.

Although she would probably become busier in the future, it actually felt much easier than before.

The third point concerned the war involving Watatsumi Island.

Ei's position was to immediately cease the war, purge the military, and even rename Kujou Encampment.

The fourth point concerned the Fatui.

Ei heavily emphasized this section.

[Such a nation-destroying organization absolutely cannot be allowed to continue operating within Inazuma. Every single one of them will be dealt with. If solid evidence exists, they may be executed immediately!]

Yae Miko could not help nodding.

This policy was truly good.

She commented:

"The methods are somewhat ruthless, but the Fatui are indeed detestable. Using harsh measures against them is appropriate."

Yae Miko continued reading, only to discover that Ei had actually written quite a lot.

The fifth point concerned her own problems.

[I should not have been stubborn, nor should I have ignored the opinions of the people.]

[Although eternity should still be pursued, some changes are necessary.]

[Otherwise, this is not eternity, but stupidity.]

Yae Miko stared at the words with complete disbelief. She turned toward Ei beside her and asked in shock:

"You came up with the fifth point yourself?"

"Yes. Is there a problem with it?"

Ei's gaze was completely calm.

The final point had been added by her at the last moment.

From now on, she intended to reflect upon every mistake and correct it promptly.

If she was truly going to repent, then she had to do it properly.

Yae Miko suddenly felt she had underestimated Ei and hurriedly asked:

"How did you come up with this kind of idea?"

"This?"

Raiden Ei revealed a thoughtful expression before saying something astonishing:

"I suppose it's because after realizing my mistakes, I reflected on all the manga I've read and eventually came to this conclusion."

She was a god, not a human.

But principles applied equally to all living beings.

Whether it was Under One Person, Fate/stay night, or Adventure King.

Their values were fundamentally righteous.

Having been influenced by manga for so long, Raiden Ei had naturally gained some understanding from them.

Especially the story of Adventure King. The islands and nations within it heavily reflected modern-day Inazuma.

If she compared herself to a king, then what should she do now?

The answer quickly became clear.

Correct her mistakes!

Kitsune Saiguu was slightly stunned. She had not expected everything to ultimately circle back to Su Han again.

She lowered her head and looked at the sleeping man before suddenly smiling gently.

The true hero of Inazuma should be you.

Without manga sweeping across the nation, how could Inazuma ever have changed like this?

Ei wanted to change, but to a large extent, she had never known which direction to take.

He truly was a perfect man.

The more Kitsune Saiguu looked at him, the more she liked him. She then lowered her head slightly and gently kissed Su Han on the cheek.

Yae Miko did not notice her little action because all her attention was focused on Ei's policies.

"There are basically no major problems. As for punishments, I think strict measures should be enforced."

Harsh laws were necessary in chaotic times, otherwise they would fail to serve as a warning.

With Yae Miko supplementing the details, the policies quickly reached a state where they could be implemented.

Raiden Ei returned to Tenshukaku carrying the documents.

One hour later.

The massive thunderstorm surrounding Inazuma gradually began to dissipate.

But even more shocking news soon spread continuously among the people of Inazuma.
