Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Don't Underestimate Yourself

Xuan Jin looked at her expression of utter despair and slowly said, "My coming to you proves your worth."

"Don't belittle yourself. Such a Physique is not what you wished for either."

His calm words, however, were like a warm ray of sunshine, shining into Little Fairy Doctor's frozen heart.

She was stunned.

Since childhood, because of this strange Physique, she had endured too much loneliness.

This was the first time someone, after learning her biggest secret, didn't show fear or disgust, but instead told her it wasn't her fault.

"My... worth?" Little Fairy Doctor murmured, somewhat disbelieving.

"The Calamity Poison Body is a curse, but also a blessing."

Xuan Jin stood up and walked in front of her.

"Used properly, it can grant you power beyond Mortals and allow you to reach the pinnacle of this world."

"The... pinnacle of the world?"

These words, for Little Fairy Doctor, who had always lived in a small town, were too distant, too illusory.

But Xuan Jin's words, however, caused her dead heart to uncontrollably ignite a faint spark once more.

Just then, Xuan Jin's movements paused slightly.

He turned his head and looked towards the small path to the east.

"Some people looking for death have arrived."

Xuan Jin's tone remained calm.

"Presumably, you still know them."

"People looking for death?"

Little Fairy Doctor followed his gaze, her heart filled with doubt.

Before she could think further, a series of chaotic footsteps and clamor approached from afar, breaking the tranquility of the mountain wilderness.

The light of torches tore One by one openings in the night.

Soon, dozens of Mercenaries, armed with weapons and fierce expressions, surrounded the old locust tree.

The crowd parted, and a gloomy-faced young man swaggered out.

It was Mu Li, the young leader of the Wolf Head Mercenary group.

Mu Li immediately saw the pale-faced Little Fairy Doctor standing under the tree, and his eyes instantly burst forth with undisguised lecherous light.

"Little Fairy Doctor, my beauty, it's so late, why are you alone in this desolate wilderness?"

His gaze then fell on Xuan Jin, he sized him up, and a sneer appeared on his face.

"Oh, you even brought a pretty boy? What, that old thing from Myriad Medicine Pavilion couldn't satisfy you, so you wanted to come out and try something new?"

The vulgar words were unbearable.

Little Fairy Doctor's face instantly turned ashen, she subconsciously took a step back, her body trembling slightly with anger.

She saw that in the crowd, the skinny fellow who had been pretending to select medicine in the pharmacy this afternoon was now standing behind Mu Li with a fawning expression.

She also saw her personal maid, Xiao Cui, now cowering at the very back of the crowd.

She understood everything.

It was Xiao Cui who had betrayed her.

"Mu Li, what do you want to do!" Little Fairy Doctor suppressed the disgust and fear in her heart and shouted sharply.

In her opinion, although Xuan Jin was mysterious, he was too young after all. How could he be a match for these dozens of fierce Mercenaries?

It was her who had implicated him.

Thinking of this, a strong sense of guilt surged in her heart.

She took a deep breath and stood in front of Xuan Jin.

"You let him go, and I'll go with you."

"Hahahahaha!" Mu Li laughed loudly as if he had heard the greatest joke.

"Little Fairy Doctor, you really are kind. But do you think you still have the right to negotiate now?"

The smile on his face suddenly vanished, replaced by a ferocious expression.

"Today, this little beauty, I'm taking her! And this pretty boy who doesn't know what's good for him, he has to die!"

"Charge! Chop the man into pieces and feed him to the dogs! As for the woman... capture her alive!"

At Mu Li's command, the surrounding Mercenaries burst into laughter, brandishing their weapons, and grinning menacingly as they closed in.

Little Fairy Doctor closed her eyes in despair.

Just then, a warm hand gently patted her shoulder.

"It's nothing."

Xuan Jin's voice calmly sounded in her ear.

"Just a group of ants."

Little Fairy Doctor suddenly opened her eyes and looked back at him.

Under the moonlight, the young man's profile was so handsome it seemed otherworldly, and his composure and calmness made it seem as if the dozens of blade-wielding Mercenaries before them were truly just a group of ants that could be crushed at any moment.

Xuan Jin walked past her and stood in front of her.

He didn't even look at the charging Mercenaries.

He just slowly raised his right hand.

An indescribably terrifying aura erupted from his body!

"Hahahaha, kid, you're about to die and you're still pretending!"

"Young leader, this pretty boy has delicate skin, why don't you leave him for me to have some fun with?"

The Mercenaries' vulgar remarks and sneers stopped abruptly the moment they saw Xuan Jin raise his hand.

An indescribable chill instantly enveloped the entire mountain wilderness.

The smiles on the faces of the Mercenaries at the very front froze.

Their bodies remained in a charging posture, but they could no longer advance an inch.

A dark blue flame silently ignited in Xuan Jin's palm.

The flame was only the size of a fist, hovering quietly.

But it was this strange blue flame that made everyone present feel an instinctive fear.

"What... what the hell is this?"

Mu Li's lecherousness and arrogance had been replaced by horror.

As a Fighter, he could clearly feel how terrifying the power contained within that blue flame was!

It was a power he completely could not comprehend or resist!

Little Fairy Doctor was also stunned.

Standing behind Xuan Jin, feeling the aura of coldness and destruction coexisting, her entire body stiffened.

She opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

Xuan Jin ignored everyone's horror.

He just gently flicked his finger.

The blue flame in his palm instantly split into dozens of tiny sparks, like fireflies in the night sky, lightly drifting towards the surrounding Mercenaries.

Each of those Mercenaries widened their eyes, their faces filled with fear, but they couldn't even move a finger.

They could only watch helplessly as those tiny, faint blue sparks slowly landed on their bodies.

Not a sound was made.

The moment the faint blue sparks touched the Mercenaries' bodies, a strange scene unfolded.

One Mercenary's body, starting from where the spark touched him, silently turned into dust.

The process was like a rock weathered by the wind, or a painting erased from existence.

The entire scene was eerily quiet.

Only the rustling of the night wind through the leaves, and the almost inaudible shush of human bodies turning to dust.

The frozen Mercenaries couldn't even speak, they could only watch as their bodies were annihilated.

A moment later.

The mountain wilderness returned to tranquility.

The dozens of living Mercenaries, along with their young leader Mu Li, had completely vanished from this world.

Little Fairy Doctor stared blankly at the empty grassland before her, her mind a blank.

She stumbled back two steps, leaning against the old locust tree behind her, to avoid collapsing to the ground.

In a flick of a finger, dozens of Mercenaries turned to ashes.

What terrifying strength this was!
