Chapter 32 - Chapter 32. Demonic Beast Siege

Just then... Awoooo!!!

Awoooo—Awoooo—

The continuous howls of the Ice Plains Wolf pack suddenly erupted in the silent night sky.

At first listen, the howls were chaotic, but in a moment, they became rhythmic, as if guided by a military formation.

The wolf pack quickly dispersed, stepping out of the forest with slow and steady paces, gradually approaching Winterfell City.

A chilling breeze brushed against his face, and Link could faintly smell the bloody, putrid scent emanating from the Ice Plains Wolf pack, as well as the violent, cruel, bone-chilling cold.

The Icefield Wolves constantly twitched their nostrils, trying to capture the scent of fear from their prey.

The greedy longing in their crimson eyes had not diminished in the slightest.

It was as if the humans standing on the city wall were merely their delicacies.

Viscous saliva slowly dripped from the corners of their mouths, an primal, intense craving for food.

They advanced unhurriedly, each step exerting maximum pressure on the people on the city wall, while secretly observing, trying to find fatal flaws in the defenses.

However, as time passed, impatience gradually appeared in the crimson eyes of the Icefield Wolves.

Hunger, like a sharp blade, mercilessly shattered their already scant patience!

Such a large pack of Icefield Wolves would require a considerable amount of food.

They had been hungry for a long time!

Awooo—Awooo—Awooo—

In an instant, a terrifying bloodthirsty madness erupted in the crimson eyes of the Icefield Wolves.

Attack! Hunt!

At this moment, only blood and death could satisfy their bottomless hunger, like an abyss!

Link gazed intently, the surging Ice Plains Wolf pack rushing forward, like a crimson torrent in the dark night.

Their wolf eyes were crimson as blood, emitting a chilling, eerie glow, and sharp fangs densely lined their mouths, like cold, gleaming blades.

As the wolf pack accelerated, viscous saliva splattered like flying raindrops, spraying wantonly in the air. The foul smell grew stronger, assaulting the nostrils, making one nauseous.

"Agnes, I heard demonic beast meat tastes delicious. Tonight, are you interested in trying roasted Ice Plains Wolf with me? Later, I'll personally cook you something delicious!" Link's lips curved into a calm smile, his tone relaxed.

"Good!"

Agnes's reply was crisp.

No sooner had she spoken than she decisively unshouldered her massive axe.

The next instant, a dark red streak of light flashed, and a majestic set of armor materialized out of thin air, quickly donning itself upon her.

The armor shimmered with a mysterious glow, as if recounting past glorious battles.

Undoubtedly, this was the Demon Slayer Armor!

Agnes lightly tapped her toes and leaped from the city wall, her posture agile.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

Heavy footsteps echoed in the silent wilderness, indicating the considerable weight of this armor.

Agnes's actions spoke volumes. Her tall figure, like a demon god descended, moved from slow to swift, directly confronting the surging tide of Icefield Wolves.

Without a single superfluous word or action, Agnes swung the black battle axe in her hand, creating a whooshing sound.

The rattling chains on her armor, like the roar of a demon god, shook the four fields.

Dark red flames suddenly erupted from the great axe. The blazing inferno instantly illuminated this pitch-black world, dispelling the darkness.

The next moment, the wails of the Ice Plains Wolf pack exploded like thunder, echoing through the sky.

Viscous blood, like blooming red roses, splattered wantonly in the forest, hot and fervent, staining the earth red.

Agnes's footsteps did not falter. Like a battle-hardened god, she steadily advanced into the heart of the wolf pack.

Any Icefield Wolves that dared to obstruct her were merely souls beneath her axe.

The freely flowing blood made her already dark red armor even more vivid and striking, as if proclaiming her invincibility and bravery.

From all directions, hundreds of Icefield Wolves surged forward like a raging tide.

Some were drawn to Agnes and pounced on her; others, like starving wolves, frantically charged towards the city wall.

Link's gaze was calm as he watched Agnes's retreating back, then turned his attention to the Icefield Wolves rushing towards the city wall. He then looked at the City Guards beside him, and the elite Elegyan Shield Soldiers, and in his serene eyes, surging waves seemed to churn.

That was a craving for battle!

Today was the first time his Winterfell City faced a demonic beast attack!

There would only be one outcome!

Only victory, and it must be victory!

No victory, then death!

"Brothers, don't let General Agnes look down on us! Grip your swords tightly and prepare to meet the enemy!"

Link's command rang out like thunder.

With that, he drew his dragon-slaying sword. Under the swirling battle aura, a faint reddish glow emanated from the dark sword, as if yearning for a baptism of blood.

He stood shoulder to shoulder with Lina, together commanding the Soldiers on the city wall to stand ready, preparing to meet the imminent fierce battle.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In an instant, the foot of the city wall, from all directions, was filled with countless Ice Plains Wolf figures.

These Icefield Wolves were burly, several times taller than horses, and much more majestic than the strongest lions. Several agile ones leaped high, their claws almost reaching the twelve-meter-high city wall, causing fear and trepidation.

My goodness, this city wall is twelve meters high!

How could ordinary wild beasts possibly leap up it!

Link reacted extremely quickly, instantly conjuring a Heimo Cannonball and throwing it with all his might into the midst of the pack of wolves.

The Heimo Cannonball, a glintstone sorcery from the Raya Lucarian Academy, releases a magical projectile that flies in a parabolic arc. When he played games in the past, Link often used this move; it was extremely effective for clearing large numbers of small monsters.

At this moment, as the magical projectile landed among the wolves, it exploded with a roar, kicking up a cloud of blood mist.

But before Link could even catch his breath, he sensed a fishy wind assault him from the side, rushing straight into his nostrils.

One of the Icefield Wolves, with astonishing speed, couldn't leap onto the city wall in one go, but it used its sharp claws to grip the stone cracks in the wall, using that leverage to jump again, successfully climbing to the top of the wall and flipping over!
