Chapter 54 - chapter 54

The morning light streamed through the frost-covered windows of the Valvas Mansion, spilling warmth into Roy's room. He stirred awake as Articuno perched by the window, letting out a soft trill while Dvalin snoozed on the windowsill.

On the side table lay a neat stack of packages—each wrapped in colorful ribbons and stamped with wax seals bearing familiar crests and signatures.

Roy smiled softly.

"So, Santa's been busy this year."

He began unwrapping them one by one.

🎁 The Gifts of Friendship

From Hermione Granger, a handwritten letter and a box of homemade chocolate frogs — "I made them myself! (Don't laugh if they hop wrong.)"

From Daphne, a sleek silver tiepin inscribed with the Greengrass crest, meant for "formal wizarding events."

Cassandra Vole sent an enchanted quill that wrote in gold when dipped in potion ink, while Penelope Clearwater sent a rare book — "The Art of Charm and Spell Harmony."

Cho Chang sent a small snow globe of Hogwarts, the inside enchanted to replay Roy's Quidditch goal-scoring moment whenever shaken.

From Cedric, a note that read: "Next match, I'm beating you in assists."

The Weasley twins sent their latest prototypes: a "Mini-Puff Explosion Gum" (which exploded into harmless glitter) and "Ever-Stretch Socks." Roy laughed, muttering,

"Those two will rule the prank world one day."

Then came the heavier packages—

Hagrid had sent a box of rock cakes (Roy immediately decided to use them as paperweights).

Professor Dumbledore's gift was a handwritten note: "Thank you for the wool. My new scarf is coming along splendidly." It was accompanied by a bag of lemon drops.

Fawkes, the phoenix, sent him a single feather, glowing with warmth, and a short note in phoenix script: "For your flame."

Finally came the family gifts.

From Alex Valvas, a new wand holster made of enchanted French leather. From Jessica, an elegant midnight-blue cloak that automatically adjusted to weather.Darius sent a box containing an ancient alchemy crystal and a short note: "For the boy who dreams too high — keep flying."Clara sent enchanted gloves lined with mana-conductive silver threads. From Venelana, a fine bottle of vintage elven wine. From Grayfia, a hand-sewn handkerchief with a frost rune — practical and delicate.Rem and Ram sent twin ribbons, one pink, one blue, charmed to bring calm when tied around the wrist.Albedo, Bela, and Nagini sent enchanted trinkets shaped like small creatures that danced when touched by magic.

Roy looked at the mountain of gifts and smiled quietly to himself.

"So many people care…" he murmured.

He carefully arranged them in his wardrobe, storing each item as though it were a treasure.

🕯 A Peaceful Christmas

The next two days passed in warm celebration. The Valvas family dined under the glowing star-shaped chandeliers of the grand hall. Snow fell softly outside while the fireplace crackled.

Roy shared stories from Hogwarts — how he roasted trolls, flew in Quidditch matches, and teased his friends mercilessly. Each tale brought laughter from Clara, indulgent sighs from Jessica, and amused pride from Darius.

That night, Roy played the piano for them — a soft, haunting melody that filled the mansion with peace.

✨ Journey to Paris

Two mornings later, a letter arrived sealed with the Flamel crest.

"Roy Valvas,We would be delighted if you spent the remainder of the holidays with us.Yours sincerely,Nicolas & Perenelle Flamel."

Roy smiled knowingly. Grandfather must have told them I was home.

By noon, he was in Paris, snowflakes drifting lazily around him as he approached a modest stone house hidden by wards. The golden plaque read:"Maison Flamel."

The door opened before he could knock.

"Ah, my student arrives at last!"It was Nicolas Flamel, the immortal alchemist himself — looking lively as ever in a thick robe and spectacles perched on his nose.

Beside him stood Perenelle Flamel, graceful and smiling warmly.

"Welcome home, Roy. You've grown even more charming since the last time."

Roy bowed lightly. "It's good to see you again, Grandma Perenelle, Grandpa Nicolas."

🧙‍♂️ Meeting the Scamanders

Inside the cozy home, two familiar figures awaited him — Newt Scamander and Tina Scamander. The great magizoologist looked up from a cup of tea, smiling kindly.

"So this is the famous Roy Valvas," Newt said warmly. "Darius's grandson.""And my favorite student," Nicolas added proudly.

Roy laughed. "That's because I'm your only student."

That earned a chuckle from everyone, even Tina, whose usual seriousness melted into a soft laugh.

🐉 Evenings of Magic and Memory

The next four days were blissful. Roy and the Flamels hosted cozy evening talks filled with tea, stories, and gentle laughter.

Roy told them about Hogwarts, about Fawkes and Articuno, about his experiments with sword and magic fusion. Nicolas listened with fascination, eyes gleaming with that timeless curiosity of an alchemist.

Newt eagerly asked about Dvalin and Articuno, sketching notes while Tina smiled at how animated her husband became.

"He reminds me of a young you," Tina teased, brushing her hair back.

On the third evening, Roy demonstrated one of his alchemy-enhanced spells — summoning a glowing circle of light that burst into small crystal butterflies. Perenelle clapped softly, her eyes full of grandmotherly pride.

"Truly Darius's grandson," she said warmly. "But far more creative."

Later that night, as the household quieted, Tina confided to Newt as they watched the snow outside.

"I'm glad we came, Newt. Meeting Roy… it feels like meeting the grandson we never had.""He has that effect," Newt said softly. "Kindness and strength both — a rare mix."

🎁 Farewell to the Flamels

When the fourth day came, Roy prepared to leave. He left behind small, enchanted boxes — his Christmas presents to them.

For Nicolas, a rune-etched quill that absorbed magical residue to help in his research.

For Perenelle, a necklace of phoenix feathers imbued with warmth and light.

For Newt, a leather-bound journal that automatically organized magical creature notes.

For Tina, a pendant imbued with calm magic and defensive wards.

Perenelle hugged him gently. "You've made our home warmer this Christmas, Roy."Nicolas smiled, eyes crinkling. "You've surpassed even my expectations, my boy."

As Roy turned to leave, Tina called softly,

"Roy, thank you… for visiting us. This has been the best Christmas in years."

Roy turned, smiling with quiet fondness.

"The pleasure's mine. After all, family should see each other during Christmas."

The old couple exchanged looks — warmth in their hearts and a hint of pride glowing in their eyes.

After he left, Tina turned to Nicolas and Perenelle, voice full of emotion.

"You were right. We're lucky to have met him."

Perenelle's smile was wistful but full of joy.

"No, my dear… the world is lucky to have Roy Valvas."
