Chapter 65 - chapter 65:Alchemy, Dragons, and Flying Cars

After breakfast, laughter still echoed through the Burrow's crooked walls. The Weasley twins dragged Roy out to the garden shed, their eyes gleaming with mischief.

"Roy, behold," said Fred dramatically, opening a box filled with strange gadgets."The future of magical mischief!" George added proudly.

Inside were colorful spheres, miniature fireworks, enchanted sweets, and a few suspicious-looking quills that were leaking purple smoke.

Roy raised an eyebrow and picked one up.

"A Canary Cream with built-in illusion charm? Not bad... but you're overusing unstable rune lines. Here—"

He flicked his wand, adjusting the rune circle's symmetry. The charm glowed brighter and steadier.

"That'll stop them from misfiring," he explained. "And if you add a trace of laughter essence instead of simple illusion dust, the effect lasts longer — and it's safe."

Fred's eyes widened.

"You mean… no more exploding tongues?"

"Unless you want them to," Roy replied dryly.

The twins exchanged grins of pure awe.

"He's brilliant.""We're adopting him as an honorary Weasley."

Meanwhile, Dvalin — now the size of a small cat — fluttered through the Burrow's open kitchen window, drawn by a delicious aroma.

Molly Weasley looked up from her cauldron of stew.

"Well, hello there, dear. Aren't you a lovely one?"

Dvalin chirped and hovered near the pot, sniffing curiously. Molly laughed.

"Would you like to try a bit?"

The tiny dragon nodded eagerly. Molly scooped a spoonful of stew into a small dish and set it on the counter. Dvalin tasted it — then made a soft purring sound before rubbing her warm, scaled cheek affectionately against Molly's face.

"Oh my stars!" Molly gasped, giggling. "Arthur! She's purring!"

From the doorway, Arthur, Ginny, Ron, Cedric, and the twins stared in stunned silence.

"Mum just made friends with a dragon," Ron muttered."Of course she did," said Fred. "Only Mum could feed a dragon and get a cuddle in return."

Roy entered just in time to see Dvalin nuzzling Molly's cheek.

"Ah, I see she's found your cooking irresistible," he said with a grin. "Dvalin has a weakness for anyone who gives her treats."

"She's got good taste then," Molly replied proudly.

Later, Arthur approached Roy with an eager look.

"Fred and George mentioned you're skilled in alchemy, my boy. I'd be honored to show you something in the shed."

"Alchemy and tinkering? Lead the way," Roy said, intrigued.

Arthur led him outside, where the famous blue Ford Anglia sat gleaming under the sunlight. Its engine hummed faintly — enchanted with flight runes, invisibility charms, and a few highly questionable modifications.

"You… made this fly?" Roy asked, examining the car."Indeed! Took me three months to balance the enchantments," Arthur said proudly. "Still a bit unstable when it reaches high altitudes though."

Roy crouched near the engine, tracing a glowing circle of ancient runes with his fingers.

"Your runic patterns are good, but the alignment's slightly off. Here—"

With a flick of his wand, Roy redrew the circuit using glowing alchemical sigils. The air around the car shimmered.

"Now, the magic will flow evenly through the core. No more sudden dips mid-flight."

Arthur's eyes shone with excitement.

"That's… that's brilliant! You've stabilized the aether channels!"

"Just a little adjustment," Roy said modestly. "Try starting it."

Arthur turned the key. The engine purred — smooth, powerful, perfectly balanced.

Fred and George cheered, while Ron and Harry exchanged amazed glances.Cedric crossed his arms, impressed.

"You've got a talent for everything, don't you?"

Roy smirked.

"Only the things worth mastering."

A few hours later, while Arthur and Roy were fine-tuning the invisibility charms, a soft, curious voice floated over from the field beyond the Burrow.

"That dragon… she's beautiful."

Roy turned to see a girl with long, pale-blonde hair and wide silvery eyes. She was holding a magazine upside down — The Quibbler.

"You must be Luna Lovegood," Roy said kindly. "I've heard about your father's publication."

"And you must be the boy who rides dragons," Luna replied dreamily.

Dvalin fluttered over to her and landed lightly on Luna's arm. The little dragon chirped once, and Luna giggled.

"She likes you," Roy said."Creatures usually do," Luna replied softly. "They can sense when you see them as friends, not beasts."

Roy smiled. "Then you and Dvalin will get along perfectly."

Luna gently stroked the dragon's scales, and Dvalin coiled affectionately around her wrist like living jewelry.

From a distance, Ginny watched the two chatting and smiled quietly — though she wasn't entirely sure why her heart gave a tiny flutter seeing Roy smile like that.

As the sun began to set, Roy helped Arthur cover the car with a charm-imbued tarp and returned to the Burrow. Dvalin perched lazily on his shoulder, eyes half-closed.

Cedric approached him.

"Mum said I should bring you over for dinner before term starts. You can stay the night if you like."

"Sounds perfect," Roy said, stretching. "Lead the way."

Before leaving, Molly handed Roy a basket of pies.

"For you and that little dragon of yours, dear. Don't let her eat it all before you get home."

Roy chuckled.

"I'll try, Mrs. Weasley — but no promises."

Dvalin chirped indignantly, as if claiming the pies already.

With a laugh, Roy climbed onto a small teleportation circle he conjured, Cedric beside him.In a swirl of light, they vanished toward the Diggory household, leaving the Burrow glowing warmly behind — filled with laughter, the smell of stew, and the faint echo of dragon wings.
