Chapter 67 - Chapter 67

The morning of departure was bright and lively at King's Cross Station.Steam curled above the scarlet engine of the Hogwarts Express as students hurried along the platform, trunks rattling, owls hooting.

Roy stood slightly apart from the crowd, dressed neatly in a dark, silver-trimmed coat, his diamond-blue eyes calm and unreadable.Beside him, Hermione, Cassandra Vole, Astoria, Penelope Clearwater, and Cho Chang gathered near their compartment, chatting and laughing as usual.

When Roy approached, their smiles dimmed slightly — they sensed something different today.

"You're not coming with us?" Hermione asked, concern in her tone."Not this time," Roy said softly. "There's something I must handle — family business.""Serious?" Cho asked quietly."Serious enough," he replied, his gaze steady. "I'll join you at Hogwarts soon. Don't worry."

The girls exchanged quick glances, then nodded. They knew Roy well enough not to pry.Astoria gave a small smile.

"You'll come flying in again, won't you?""Maybe," Roy said with a faint grin. "Wouldn't want to keep tradition waiting."

The whistle shrieked, steam engulfed the platform, and the train began to move. Roy stepped back, watching as his friends waved from the windows until the scarlet blur vanished down the tracks.

A few compartments down the line, Fred and George Weasley squeezed in beside Ginny to greet Roy's group.

"Hey, where's the flame-haired prodigy?" George asked, peering around."You mean silver-haired," corrected Penelope with a small smile.

Hermione folded her arms.

"He said he had business to take care of — something important.""So he's not on the train?" Ginny asked, trying not to sound disappointed."He'll come later," Cassandra said gently.

Before the twins could ask more, a sudden clatter drew everyone's attention outside the window — the unmistakable sight of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley standing beside the Ford Anglia, eyes wide, mouths open.

Fred blinked.

"Tell me they're not—"George finished, "—planning what I think they are."

Hermione groaned.

"Oh no… they are."

Moments later, the car roared to life and shot skyward, vanishing into the clouds.Cassandra exhaled.

"Boys will be boys."Astoria giggled."Roy's going to laugh when he hears this."

Meanwhile, far from the station, Roy stood within a circle of blue flame in his family's secluded estate. With a single motion, he sent a sealed letter through magical flame to Headmaster Dumbledore and another to Professor Sprout.

"Informing them I'll arrive separately," he murmured. "That should keep things proper."

When the final sigil faded, he looked toward the horizon, where Dvalin waited in her full draconic glory, wings outstretched.

"Ready?""Always," the dragon's voice echoed softly in his mind.

With one leap, Roy mounted her back, and the world below blurred into wind and sky.

Hogwarts Grounds – Twilight

The Hogwarts Express had already reached the castle.Students filed off in chatter and laughter, the air crisp with excitement.

Hermione, Cassandra, Astoria, Penelope, Cho, and Cassandra Vole stood among the crowd near the main gate, joined by Ginny, Fred, and George. They were about to head inside when a deep, resonant roar split the evening air.

The sky ignited in gold and blue as a dragon descended over the lake, its wings glimmering like molten glass. Gasps and shouts rose from the crowd.

"It's him!" Astoria cried, eyes shining.

Dvalin landed gracefully on the grass, her form folding inward until she shrank to the size of a cat. From her back, Roy Valvas stepped down, his silver-white hair catching the moonlight, his diamond-blue eyes gleaming with quiet power.

"Sorry for the delay," he said lightly. "I took the scenic route."

Hermione crossed her arms.

"You and your dramatic entrances.""You love them," Roy teased.

Dvalin fluttered onto his shoulder; with a soft gesture, Roy opened a pocket-dimension seal, and she vanished inside with a gentle chirp.

"Rest well, little one," he whispered.

Inside the Great Hall, the students took their seats, but murmurs filled the air.The high table was notably missing Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Snape.

Professor Sprout, standing near the staff lectern, looked slightly nervous. Spotting Roy, she motioned him over.

"Ah, Mr. Valvas. Just in time.""For what?" Roy asked.

Sprout cleared her throat, glancing at a note on the podium.

"Professor McGonagall has been called away with the Headmaster. She left instructions that you would handle the Sorting in her absence."

Roy blinked.

"I'm sorry — the Sorting Ceremony?""You're trusted, dear," Sprout said kindly. "And you've helped with enchantment matrices before. The Hat recognizes you."

Roy sighed softly, rubbing his temple.

"I really need to stop impressing people."

From their table, Hermione and Cassandra were already giggling. Cedric, sitting among the Hufflepuffs, gave him a mock salute. Fred and George made exaggerated bowing motions, whispering loudly,

"All hail Professor Valvas!"

Even Ginny tried to stifle a laugh.

Roy rolled his eyes but approached the stool. The Sorting Hat, resting quietly, tilted slightly as if in greeting.

"Alright, let's do this quickly," Roy muttered.

One by one, the new first-years came forward, nervous but awed to be sorted by the silver-haired upper-year whose name was already whispered across Hogwarts.

Each placement was smooth and confident — Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin — his calm voice steady as he read the Hat's decisions.

Finally, the last name was called:

"Greengrass, Astoria."

The little girl took a deep breath, stepped forward, and placed the Hat on her head.A pause — then the Hat shouted,

"SLYTHERIN!"

Applause erupted from the green-clad table. Daphne waved proudly to her sister, who smiled shyly and hurried over.

Moments later came:

"Lovegood, Luna!" — "RAVENCLAW!""Weasley, Ginny!" — "GRYFFINDOR!"

Cheers filled the hall.

When it was over, Roy handed the Hat back to Sprout, who patted his shoulder approvingly.

"Well done, Mr. Valvas.""Let's not make this a habit," Roy said dryly, though his smile betrayed amusement.

Just as the feast began, the great doors burst open.Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, covered in soot and mud, stumbled inside. Gasps spread through the hall.

Moments later, Professor McGonagall appeared — eyes flashing.

"Flying a car to Hogwarts?" she thundered. "You've both risked the Statute of Secrecy!"

Points were deducted swiftly and mercilessly. Roy, watching from the side, merely shook his head in quiet amusement.

"Told you he'd laugh," Fred whispered to George.

Dinner carried on beneath the floating candles, the air thick with chatter and magic.Roy sat with his friends, the flickering light catching the silver strands of his hair as he listened to Astoria describe her first day with excited gestures.

For now, everything felt peaceful — laughter echoing through the Great Hall, plates clinking, stories being shared.

Yet somewhere deep below the castle, in the darkness of the dungeons, a faint whisper stirred —a diary waiting to awaken.
