Diablo teleported both himself and Haru, and the next instant they appeared back in Diablo's domain in a desolate wasteland filled with broken stone pillars and the ruins of ancient structures. Dust drifted through the air, and black flame lanterns flickered in the distance.
"We've arrived," Diablo said with a smile.
Haru looked around with a raised brow. "Is this where you usually stay?"
"Yes," Diablo answered calmly. "But I'm rarely ever here."
Haru nodded slowly. The ruined domain felt eerie, but strangely fitting for Diablo.
"Now then," Diablo continued, "we shall begin your training immediately."
"Immediately?" Haru repeated. "Don't we rest first or something?"
Diablo tilted his head slightly. "Do you need rest?"
Haru stopped to think.
ā¦He didn't. At all.
Even after being vaporized by Razen, he felt perfectly fine in the Underworld. Being a demon was awesome.
"I guess not," he admitted.
Diablo smiled. "Well then, we shall start but before we begin training, I will ask you a question. What is the most advantageous thing to have during a fight?"
Haru went into thought, then he responded "Didn't you say combat experience?"
"Well yes, that's not entirely wrong," Diablo said. "Combat experience is important, but compared to this, it falls slightly below. I'll just tell you. The most advantageous thing to have is information."
Haru nodded. "Of courseā¦ information."
Diablo chuckled. "There are foundational truths every demon must know and very strong demona already know. Weaknesses, advantages and natural relationships between races. First is species advantage and disadvantage."
He raised a finger.
"You see, demons are naturally strong against Angels.
Angels are naturally strong against spirits.
Spirits are naturally strong against demons.
A perfect circle."
Haru nodded. "Yeahā¦ I see it."
Internally, he remembered. This is exactly what Diablo had told Razen during their fight, well not exactly a fight, but Diablo just aura farming.
Razen had summoned a stone spirit golem after guessing Diablo was actually much stronger than he thoughtā¦ Diablo seeing that called Razen smart, but then went on to one shot the golem without a second thought. The said Razen was still way too young.
Mind you that dude Razen was well over 1000 years.
Diablo continued, "While this is the standard chain of advantage, it is not absolute. For instance, I do not believe there exists a spirit capable of defeating me. And I am also not entirely certain I can defeat every Angel."
He smiled. "So take the chart with a grain of salt."
"Got it," Haru said. "So the chart is useful, but not law."
"Correct. Now thenā¦ let us move to some fundamentals you must know as a demon."
Haru straightened as Diablo began explaining.

"First you have Demon Ranking and Evolution"
Diablo folded his arms and continued. "Demons evolve through a very strict hierarchy. You should understand where you stand."
Haru nodded. "Yes, I'm currently a Greater Demon?"
"Correct," Diablo said "But you started as a Lesser Demon. This is where every demon besides the Primordials start. These demons are weak, unstable and primitive. You were the exception and a few others who might have some sliver of intelligence but they are still fodder."
Haru responds "I understand"
Diablo then continues "Then you have Greater Demons. This is where you are. These demons are powerful, can create unique forms and mid level threats. There can be instances of Greater Demons beating their higher ranked Archdemons since they have intelligence and can strategize. But that's rare. I believe you could pull this off."
Haru nods frantically
"Then you have Archdemons" Diablo continues. "This is the natural last step of evolution for Demons. I myself am naturally an Archdemon"
Haru then asks "So growth is capped at Archdemon. But I refuse to believe a normal Archdemon can compete with you or other Primordials"
Diablo then says "Well, in terms of natural growth that's where evolution stops. Then obviously some Archdemons go on to live 1000s of years and grow with experience" he then continues "Further evolution can be accomplished through naming, which I'll explain more later.
"Then there are Primordials ā beings like myself and Rouge. The originals. The strongest demon-class in existence."
Haru nodded repeatedly. "I understand"

"Then we have Naming and Power" Diablo says.
He continues continued, "When a demon is named, their magicules rapidly increase. And depending on your rank you could evolve even higher, even able to reach Demon Lord class."
Haru asked, "Does naming naming someone makes them your underling?"
"No," Diablo said immediately. "The bond depends on the intent of the namer. However, the burden of naming drains the namer."
"Good to know," Haru said. "So naming doesn't give you controlā¦ it just makes others stronger. What's the point then."
"Yes." Diablo says chuckling, "What really is the point."

"Next we have Demon Advantages"
Diablo continued:
"Demons possess several universal advantages:
First we have our Magicule Density. Our bodies are made of magicules rather than flesh, giving us extreme regeneration.
Secondly is our natural Resistance to Mental Attacks. Demons have strong mental structures, making things like fear, hypnosis, or confusion nearly useless most of the time.
Third is our Innate Magic Affinity ā We cast spells naturally, without incantation, if our skill is high enough. Magic is naturally a demons most proficient domain. Demons should never lose in a battle of magic. Most might but me and you must not."
Haru responds "Yes sir!"
Diablo chuckles and says "I love the spirit", then he continues
"Next we have Dimensional Movement ā Most demons can move between spaces, planes, or shadows depending on rank. I will be teaching you these, so don't you worry."
Haru smiles and thinks "Diablo sensei is so thoughtful"
Diablo continues and says "Finally is longevity. Demons are essentially immortal. Even when killed they can just get reborn. The only way to completely kill a Demon is to destroy their core."
Haru nodded along. "Yeah, I kind of knew that part."
"Good," Diablo said. "It means you've been practicing information gathering even if unconsciously. You are extremely talented."
All Haru could think is "Could you stop glazing me Diablo."
