Chapter 23 - A Meet of the Primordials

[Nyx]:

In a dark chamber in a lost layer of reality, an avatar of the night goddess, Nyx, sat atop a throne of black void and stars. Everything around her were galaxies and stars and constellations — Universes were born and made and then died and became reborn once again, all at once, similar to the skin on her body.

This place is a realm under the dominion of the Night Mother, Nyx!

"It seems he has received our little gift, my beloved. Perhaps it will serve him well," the Night Mother said aloud, though there was no one around. As she sat atop her throne, Nyx had a disinterested expression on her face, as she stared off into the distance. "Either way, he must continue to grow stronger. The great battle is coming, and he is smack in the middle of it…."

As she murmured to herself, a sudden movement caught her gaze. Suddenly, five balls of glowing lights appeared before her, out of nowhere it seemed. One was glowing a forest green, another golden orange, one was pale white and the last two were glowing blue — one was glowing ocean blue and the other was glowing deep ocean blue. And, from these glowing orbs of light, beings of tremendous power emerged.

The one from the forest green came forth an earth brown skinned woman, with long green, gassy hair filled with flowers and sticks, who was somehow so beautiful in a flowing green dress made of green grass and earth, with eyes as green as the greenest and most healthy of grass. She was so beautiful she could have any man on bended knee just by her appearance alone. Green miasma glowed around her. This was the primordial earth mother, Gaia.

The being that came from the glowing golden orange light orb was Hemera, the primordial light mother. She was light tan with golden hair that had pearl pink and white highlights within it, with matching pearlly golden-white eyes that seemed to shift from pink to gold to white constantly. She wore a golden white dress, embroidered with gold and white flowers and she radiated an aura of bright golden light. From her back, came wings of pure, infiltrated sunlight, that seemed both heavenly and divine in the purest of forms.

The next two beings that transformed from their ocean blue and deep ocean blue glowing light orbs respectively were men — Specifically, brothers. Pontos and Oceanus.

Pontos was a tall individual, wearing light blue oceanic blue robes with a well-muscled frame and a white waistband. He had tan skin brown hair and light ocean blue eyes and wore brown sandals. He radiated a light blue glow and light sea mist.

Oceanus was just as tall, even more muscled with dark brown hair, with deep dark ocean blue eyes and pale tan skin. He wore a deep, dark blue robe with a black waistband and dark black sandals. He radiated a dark blue glow and cold sea mist.

The last light turned into Luna, the primordial moon goddess. She had flowing pale white hair, pale skin and beautiful, lunar white eyes and wore a pale white flowing dress with a silver crown of a silver moon atop her head. She has an aura of calm, lunar white miasma whirling around her just by mere presence. From her back, arose wings of moonlight that shown as brightly as the moonlight miasma around her.

Nyx's avatar stood from her throne, as she looked at her guests. And then she spoke. "Gaia, my sister, the primordial Earth Mother; Hemera, my daughter, the primordial goddess of light and day; Luna, my daughter, primordial goddess of the moon and lady of the Celestial heavens; Pontos, younger brother of Oceanus, and the primordial sovereign of the Seas, the lakes and rivers; and Oceanus, elder brother of Pontos and the primordial god of the Deep and the Oceanic Abyss. Welcome."

As the formidable group of six primorials looked at one another, each acknowledging the others' presence, a silence settled over them as the only sound heard was the crackling of the dark blue flames from the torches located along each of the surrounding black columns.

Finally, it was broken by Gaia, who spoke to Nyx with dignity and respect. "Elder Sister Nyx, Primordial Mother of Night, Co-Creator of the Shadow Realm and Third Eldest of the children of Khaos — You summon us for what reason, I ask?"

The others looked curiously to Nyx, who began speaking. "There is a war coming, as I am sure you have all already have sensed approaching. One of Great Proportions," she began, looking at each of the five deities before her, before continuing. "I am preparing a new generation of champions with Primordial level potential and I would appreciate your aid in raising these champions to the level of Primordial rank, so that our organization may be ready for the threat that lies in the Chaos Realm, bound in Chains, but destined to be free once more, one day soon."

A heavy silence fell over the group. This group was a secret organization, a collective of Primordials founded by common aligned interests and, of course, united by their statuses as Primordial gods. It was one of many collectives of gods with various interests and founders from across the multiverse. It just happens to be amongst the oldest and diverse divine collectives in said multiverse, at least, where primordial gods were concerned.

That said, it usually follows, like many similar organizations, a set of rules — The rules that govern this organization are called the "The Order of the Primordials," and, though not all of the organizational members were present, the ones that were, were very important members of said organization.

"The Chaos Realm is sealed," stated Pontos curtly. "We've already been over this 3,000 years ago!"

"Pontos rings true," Oceanus nodded. "The Chaos Realm were sealed since time immemorial. Whatever is inside isn't coming out any time soon."

"But for how long?" questioned Nyx. "It was, indeed, sealed during the Sealing, along with a handful of Lost Realms with it as the costs for the sealing the focus of Chaos inside, as you are all very aware of — My own creation is included amongst these sealed realms.

"Yet its influence grows stronger, leaking out more and more every century. It infects the minds of mortals and gods alike, even sealed. Soon, the Sealing will shatter. Soon, Chaos' great armies will raise themselves up to destroy the multiverse as we know it. I have seen it."

A great silence descended the group, as they processed the Night Mother's words. They all sat on top of respective thrones now, each made to the liking of each gods present, but they were too deep in thought to admire the beauty of them.

Finally, it was Pontos' older brother, Oceanus, who broke the silence.

"How sure are you of this? Of what you have seen?" he sighed out.

"Definite and unequivocally certain," Nyx stated, seriously.

"This is troubling," muttered Gaia. "They will destroy everything that has been built since the Dawning of the first multiverse should they acquire their freedom."

"Chaos will erupt everywhere, at all time, all at once," muttered Luna, brows furrowed.

"The Almighties won't intervene, either. They didn't do so in the first war; they won't do so now, either," stated Oceanus.

"I sensed Catastrophe coming, but for it to be of such a magnitude…," muttered a gloomy Hemera, slightly dining in her golden glow ever so slightly. "What can we do to prepare for this? To fight for what is coming?"

When no one spoke, Nyx did. "You know what must be done. We have to prepare to Unseal the Lost Realms. Prepare its peoples for the fight — for the war — that is already on our doorsteps."

The others could only look at Nyx in ponderance.

A murmuring settled over the collective or primordials. They wanted to argue with the Night Mother — to say that she was wrong and, if not, to find another way; another solution — Yet, deep down, each of them kind of knew she was right.

"What would you have us do?" Gaia, ever the the voice of reason, asked. "We'd need the approval from the others to undo the Sealings."

"For now, undoing the Sealing can wait," Nyx stated, nodding at the relief of breath the others seemed to release. "I suggests we each bring forth our own champions — Champions with the potential to reach the rank of Primordial and maybe beyond. The Chaos Realm aren't the only threat on the horizon — It is but the only threat that is closer still. There are others. Enemies of are awakening, my brethren. We must all raise a champion to combat this threat."

The others fell silent. Many of them had sensed the dangers to come while others had ignored them, but, either way, it seems as though they are going to have to face it whether they want to or not.

As they looked at Nyx in silent awe. There was not anyone who knew what lay beyond the rank of primordial as even the most talented gods couldn't hope to reach Primordial levels of power — The only beings that are higher than the primordials are the Almighties, the parents of many different pantheons of primordials across the multiverse — the Five Great Powers themselves, that existed long before time and conscious thought. These powers created themselves, as far as anyone can guess. They are all older than anything in existence and their power is, well, almighty. Many of them have their own universe and even their own group of primordials… Well, the Great Creator has the angels, but that's a story for another time.

"Where can we find someone with that kind of potential?" asked Pontos, curious. "To find someone with that level of potential, well, that is rare enough to be counted on one finger in any of the multiverses."

Nyx shrugged. "I am sure that, if you look, you'll find your champions. I have mine, and my daughters have theirs," Nyx, Luna and Hemera shared a glance, nodding. "The talent pool grows everyday across the multiverse. If you are lucky, you will find what you are looking for.

"That said, I urge you to hurry. Time is of the essence. Another great war will be upon us soon, and we must all be prepared for when that time arrives before us."

The other Primordials nodded their agreement, however gruff for some and much more gravely for others.

"We must alert our brethren to ready themselves," Oceanus stated, to which the others nodded in agreement. "Our allies must be alerted."

They spoke of other important topics during their meeting before the ending of the meeting was wrapped up and, one by one, this group of primordials began disappearing into the spheres of light until it was only Nyx and her daughters, Luna and Hemera.

"My daughters," Nyx hugged her children, her face gleeful now that the meeting was over. Though their father wasn't present, both women has had a good relationship with Erebos — He has always treated them fairly, to which Nyx, who saw how Khronos treated his kids and how Ouranos treated his, was thankful for. "I haven't seen you in millennia. How have you been?"

Hemera and Luna looked to one another then to their mother and smiled sheepishly. They may have been immortal, all-powerful primordial goddesses, but even they were hopeless to their mother's love. They smiled before Hemera spoke "I am okay. My main body still sleeps and cultivates, but I'm optimistic in my chances against the forces of Chaos. Father said I should continue being positive last I saw him."

"Yes, same, and Aether is as fair as always — though he misses you, mother," Luna joined in.

"Perhaps, I'll visit him soon," Nyx pondered with a contemplative expression on her face. "I have seen your daughter, Hemera — You and Luna choosing her to be your champion is an excellent decision. I most definitely approve. She has talent, grace, regality and manners, as well. What a catch."

They caught up on events before continuing serious conversation.

"Uncle Tartarus wasn't here this time, but I am sure news will reach him soon if it hasn't already. It always does somehow," Nyx stated with a slight eye roll smile. "I heard rumors he's got a kid coming on the way with a primordial of destruction, what is her name? Eh, I'll remember it when it matters, I suppose. Supposedly, she's a wolf. I'll say, tartarus sure doesn't judge what hole it goes in, huh?"

"Mother!" exclaimed Luna and Hemera cried at Nyx's vulgarity. Nyx only had an indifferent look on her face.

"Wish it was one of my wolves — We'd have kept the bloodline of Khaos pure, but I suppose someone with a primordial level of power can be considered powerful enough to receive the blessing of a child that is born from Khaos blood," Luna stated, proudly.

"That is so very eugenic of you, sister," Hemera stated, scrunched face. "The kids today would call you old fashion, darling."

"Was I wrong, though?" Luna only tilted her head in question and confusion, to which Hemera just refused to bless her sister with an answer.

"Either way, we shall welcome a new member to our House of Khaos all the same," Nyx mediated, to which her daughters nodded in agreement.

Hemera was ecstatic. 'A new member to our house,' she thought, smiling. Then she thought of something. "And Erebos… he had a son underway some time way back. Isn't a teenager about now?"

"The true prince of the Shadow Realm is indeed 15 years old right now," Nyx nodded in affirmation. "He is my champion. Hopefully, he will be up to the tasks that lay before him, no matter how grueling…".

Nyx had a far away look in her eyes as she looked off in the distance.

Eventually, Luna and Hemera also returned into spherical balls of light and vanished from Nyx domain, leaving Nyx with her own thoughts. She began to wonder if maybe her actions were going too far, before shaking her head. 'No,' she thought. 'He needs to get stronger faster, and the best way for this to happen would be to increase the pressure.'

"Corven," she whispered. "What's coming requires you to be strong — Be strong and persevere. And we shall see each other in person one day – We will be the strongest of the Primordial Houses just as we once were — I just know it."
