Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 The Treacherous Dinosaur and the

An out-of-control off-road vehicle was stopped by the roadside.

Chris looked from afar and saw the vehicle had crashed into an earthen mound, its windows covered in blood, indicating the horrific state of the passengers inside.

Seeing this, Chris remembered what plot this was.

It seemed to be the fat man from the original plot who stole dinosaur embryos. Because he was driving on a rainy night, the slippery road and his nervousness caused him to lose control of the vehicle, and he eventually died in the mouths of a group of small dinosaurs.

He didn't think much of it when he watched it, but now that he had transmigrated as Chris, he realized that this fat man was truly similar to Pete.

Both were so fat, so foolish, and so gluttonous.

However, this fat man wasn't as tall as Pete, nor as lucky as Pete.

To actually be counter-killed by a group of small dinosaurs, he was truly unlucky.

But thinking of that group of small dinosaurs, Chris prepared to go over and see if those little guys were still there.

This way, he could verify whether those dinosaur meats really had an effect.

Having made up his mind, Chris flicked his short staff, and the monomolecular spear emerged through the rain, its sharp tip cutting through the night sky, revealing a cold glint.

Although he was confident he could kill those small dinosaurs with his bare hands, as the saying goes, if you have a weapon and don't use it, how can you be a grandmaster?

Holding the spear, Chris slowly approached.

When he reached the car, looking at the blood and bone fragments around, Chris frowned and cursed, "Beasts are beasts!"

With that, Chris thrust his spear, and the monomolecularly sharp tip easily pierced through the car door, skewering three small dinosaurs inside that were preparing to ambush him.

These creatures, with a bit of cunning, even knew how to conceal themselves and launch a sneak attack, but unfortunately, they met the cheat.

Even in such a noisy environment, Chris heard their faint breathing.

Therefore, remembering that these little guys had ambushed and killed the fat man in the original plot, Chris guessed that they hadn't left yet, and immediately struck like lightning.

And just as Chris struck successfully, skewering three small dinosaurs, the previously ajar front door was knocked open, and two small dinosaurs instantly pounced towards Chris.

One of them opened and closed the double crests on its head, and a ball of unknown liquid sprayed towards Chris.

Remembering that the fat man, who was now a corpse, had been blinded by this unknown liquid, Chris didn't want to take risks. He shifted his feet, taking a large step to the left, dodging the venom attack, and at the same time, the spear embedded in the car body was pulled out.

With the sharp weapon free, Chris looked at the two dinosaurs tearing at him. He twisted his wrist, and the spear tip cut through their necks, instantly silencing them both.

After dealing with these two dinosaurs, Chris looked through the open car door and found a scene of a bloody hell inside.

The fat man's bones covered the entire vehicle, and the three small dinosaurs Chris had skewered in the back still showed some signs of life, their claws tearing at the front seats.

They looked extremely pained.

However, Chris knew they would absolutely not survive; their current state was merely a final flicker of life.

So he didn't deliver another blow.

In fact, Chris no longer had his original idea; these five small dinosaurs were inedible.

Looking at the scene in the car, and then at the full bellies of these small dinosaurs, Chris could imagine them feasting on the fat man.

The fat man's flesh and blood had not yet been digested by the small dinosaurs, and Chris truly found himself unable to eat them.

Fortunately, this was Dinosaur Park, and there was no shortage of dinosaurs.

There were plenty of dinosaurs that hadn't eaten humans.

When the struggling breaths of the dinosaurs inside the car were almost gone, Chris prepared to continue his hunt.

Just before leaving, Chris suddenly remembered why the fat man had died; he seemed to have smuggled out some dinosaur embryos.

Chris carefully recalled the movie plot, remembering that those embryos seemed to have rolled down to the bottom of the road and were apparently buried by mud and sand.

At the time, the movie even gave that object a dedicated shot, and Chris thought there was some foreshadowing, but it was never revealed until the end of the movie.

He didn't know if it was shown in subsequent installments, but Chris hadn't watched those, so he had no way of knowing.

However, regardless of whether this object had any use in the original timeline, it would no longer appear in this timeline.

Because after Chris's careful search, he found the shaving cream bottle containing the dinosaur embryos.

Chris, who had intended to open it and look, noticed the current environment—the wet, cold rainy night combined with the mud and rainwater on the bottle—and abandoned the idea.

After all, he planned to take this back for Jiaozi to study, to see if they could reverse-engineer the technology and then create some dinosaurs to play with in the main world.

If he were to contaminate the dinosaur embryos due to his momentary curiosity, then there would be no fun at all.

Suppressing his curiosity, Chris continued along the road.

However, this time he wasn't so lucky. Perhaps because it was both night and a heavy downpour, the dinosaurs were all asleep.

Chris walked for several hours this time and didn't see a single dinosaur appear before him.

This made Chris a bit anxious, because he again had a strange premonition that he might leave at dawn.

Having had premonitions in the Cannibal World, Chris trusted that his premonition about the return time wouldn't be wrong, so his pace quickened slightly.

This time, however, he was no longer aimlessly wandering, but rather following the road towards the Visitor Center.

Without a specific map or directions, Chris would have a hard time finding where the other dinosaur enclosures were, and he didn't want to go back to hunt those Brachiosaurus, so he planned to hunt the dinosaurs that appeared in the original story.

He remembered that the three Velociraptors and the Tyrannosaurus Rex would all appear at the Visitor Center, so if he hurried there now, he might be able to find them nearby.

Even if he couldn't find them, they would surely appear at the Visitor Center before Chris returned.

In that case, Chris wouldn't miss by simply waiting for them.

After determining his target, Chris ran along the road. He remembered that the fat man who stole the embryos had driven out from the Visitor Center.

So, if he walked in the opposite direction from where the vehicle came, there was a high probability he would find the Visitor Center.

And thanks to the fat man's careless driving, the skid marks on the ground were still discernible despite the heavy rain.

Having confirmed the direction, Chris began to sprint through the rain.

At Chris's current speed, the splashes of water from his sprint would often not even hit the ground before his figure had already run more than ten meters away.

Running at full speed, after a while, Chris saw the park exit gate, immediately realizing he wasn't far from the Visitor Center.

However, Chris still dared not slow down, only because the rain in the sky was now gradually lessening, and it looked like it wouldn't last much longer.

But this was not good news for Chris; in the movie, Chris remembered that not long after the rain stopped, it started to get light.

So Chris's time was becoming increasingly urgent. He didn't even have time to wait for the gate to open, directly stepping on the protrusions of the park gate and flipping over it.

And just as Chris was racing against time, the protagonist group in the movie also began their self-rescue operation.

Park owner Hammond explained to paleobotanist Ellie via walkie-talkie how to get to the substation and how to activate the electric fence system.

"Ellie, did you remember?"

Hammond asked seriously, leaning on his cane.

However, paleobotanist Ellie looked bewildered, clearly not having remembered clearly.

Fortunately, Hammond had anticipated this. He took two walkie-talkies, handed one to Ellie, and said, "Hold onto it, and remember to communicate at all times."

At this moment, Robert, who was in charge of park security, picked up a shotgun and said, "Don't worry, I'll go with you."

With that, the two left the Visitor Center one after the other.

And Hammond and another injured chaos theorist, Ian, exchanged glances, both seeing panic in the other's eyes.

However, for now, their only hope was to restart the high-voltage protective electric fence to prevent more dinosaurs from escaping.

Otherwise, during this period of being unable to contact the outside world, they might not escape the fate of becoming dead souls in the mouths of dinosaurs.
