After experiencing the powerful effects of the dragon blood beverage, Megan had no more doubts and drove directly to City Hall.
However, as she got out of the car, Megan suddenly thought of something and asked in confusion, "The Food Administration isn't located in City Hall, is it? And we can't get business loans here. What are we doing here?"
Stewie also looked up in confusion; he wasn't sure why Chris wanted to come to City Hall.
Now that he thought about it, could it be that this guy thought an America City Hall could handle such business?
Stewie looked at Chris in surprise, praying he didn't actually think that, otherwise it would make him look like an idiot too.
Fortunately, Chris's purpose wasn't what Megan said; he had another reason for being here.
But it was also his first time learning that America's City Hall couldn't process business loans or production licenses.
A feeling of institutional sluggishness immediately arose in his heart, and then he thought that once he became President, he would certainly change this cumbersome structure.
But that was all for the future; he still had to work hard to become President now!
"Of course, we're here to find connections. After all, it's easier to get things done when you have people in high places! You should understand that, right?"
Chris, holding the remaining sample beverages, led Megan and Stewie towards City Hall.
Megan still asked in confusion, "Do you have connections in City Hall? Which official is it? Did you meet them recently?"
Chris's gaze shifted, and in an instant, he locked onto his target, heading straight for the Mayor's office.
But he had barely taken two steps when a security guard blocked his path.
"Sorry, sir, you cannot see the Mayor without an appointment!"
Looking at the stern-faced security guard in front of him, Chris didn't get angry with him. Instead, he said with a smile, "We are Mayor West's nephews. Please go in and tell him!"
Upon hearing Chris's words, the bodyguard hadn't reacted yet, but Megan and Stewie were surprised first. They exchanged glances, both seeing confusion in the other's eyes.
Did they also have a Mayor as a relative?
The bodyguard clearly saw the surprise in Megan's eyes, but also noticed Chris's completely unconcerned demeanor, which made him hesitate.
"Please wait, I'll go in and confirm."
"Go ahead!"
Seeing the bodyguard enter the Mayor's office, Megan became nervous, "What are you talking about? How could we be related to Mayor West? I never heard Mom mention it!"
Chris pressed his hands down, signaling Megan not to be so nervous, "Hehe, relax, Megan! Mayor West is indeed our Uncle, because he married our only Aunt Carol."
To Chris's surprise, Megan was even more shocked upon hearing his words: "We have an Aunt!?"
"How come I've never heard Mom mention it? I'm clearly the eldest daughter in the family!"
Looking at Megan's disappointed expression, Chris didn't know what to say. He couldn't just tell her directly that Louise and Peter didn't like her, could he?
That might make the girl collapse!
Who knew what would crawl out of Megan's corpse then? Chris didn't want that to happen.
So Chris comforted her, "This issue is more complicated. You know, Grandpa doesn't like Peter, so Mom doesn't really keep in touch with her family. I only found out about this by accident."
While Chris was comforting Megan, the bodyguard was communicating with Mayor West.
In the spacious Mayor's office, a handsome middle-aged man with silver-gray hair was driving a go-kart.
He saw the bodyguard walk in but showed no change in expression, still crashing into the balloons in the arena.
The bodyguard, understanding, waited for Mayor West to finish. After West popped the last balloon and stood up with a shout, he approached the Mayor and whispered, "Mayor West, there are three children outside who say they are your nephews. Would you like to see them?"
The tall and upright West stretched his muscles, thinking about what activities he should play in the afternoon, while mumbling, "My nephews? What do they look like?"
Hearing the question, the bodyguard quickly said, "A tall, handsome guy, a scruffy girl (?), and an infant with a head like a rugby ball."
Listening to the bodyguard's description, West laughed loudly, "Oh, Annie, you must have been tricked. If that tall, handsome guy was replaced by a short, obese, decadent teenager, then I could confirm they are my nephews.
But from your description, they are clearly not. So kick them out, and remember to put up a sign that says they are imposters trying to deceive the great Mayor West."
"Uh!" The bodyguard listened to West's nonsensical remarks and asked with a blank expression, "What if that teenager got fit? You know, children's height and body shape change very quickly!"
Considering the bodyguard's words, West lowered his head in thought for a moment, then said expressionlessly, "Hmm... you make a very good point. Let them in then!"
Hearing West's words, the bodyguard visibly relaxed.
Because if Chris and the others really were the Mayor's nephews, then the bodyguard who turned them away would surely make Chris and the others unhappy.
If they went to chat with the Mayor's wife, he might lose his easy, relaxed, and high-welfare job.
And if they really weren't the Mayor's nephews, he wouldn't lose anything, at most just a scolding from this unreliable Mayor.
For their bodyguard team, who were often scolded, this was nothing.
Seeing things developing in his favor, the bodyguard moved quickly, afraid West would change his mind.
As he opened the office door, he just happened to hear Chris say, "Honestly, if Mom didn't have a fat fetish and fall for Peter, the three of us would be a million times better off!"
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Mayor West invites you in."
The bodyguard said, opening the office door and signaling Chris and the others to enter.
"Oh, thank you!"
Chris, who wanted to continue complaining about Peter, nodded his thanks to the bodyguard and led Megan and Stewie into the Mayor's office.
After they entered, the bodyguard didn't rush to close the door.
No matter what, he was the Mayor's personal bodyguard, and he certainly had to ensure the Mayor's safety.
At this moment, West was already sitting at his desk, head down, seemingly reviewing documents, looking like he was working tirelessly for the citizens.
However, Chris immediately saw that this guy was playing with a Rubik's Cube, not even glancing at the documents on the table.
Even through the go-kart in the office and the broken balloons, Chris immediately deduced the absurd things this guy had just been doing.
But these had nothing to do with Chris. He was currently asking a favor from his Uncle, so he wouldn't say anything to displease him.
"Hi, Uncle West, we've come to see you!"
Chris naturally walked up to West and greeted him with a smile.
West, with a flick of his hand, covered the Rubik's Cube he had just solved with a document, then quickly stood up and replied:
"Oh, it really is you, Chris! You look so different now that I almost didn't recognize you.
And you, Megan. You... are still so spirited. I hear you're going to college soon. Do you need me to write a letter of recommendation?"
As for Stewie, who was standing by Chris's leg, West only fully saw him when he walked to the desk, and he laughed as he picked up Stewie and said, "Haha, isn't this Stewie? Let me give you a hug!"
The bodyguard standing at the door saw West greeting Chris and the others intimately, then felt relieved and closed the door, stepping out.
After greeting them, West invited them to sit on the sofa and asked with a smile, "How are Louise and Peter? Are they doing well? Are you here to visit me?"
"Or..." West scanned Chris and the others, then locked onto the unknown liquid Chris was holding, "Is it related to this thing?"
