Chapter 75 - Doom petrified

Mephisto didn't even try to defend himself, instead hammering the barrier with all his strength.

Sigurd looked at Mephisto, wondering—something he never truly understood from his comic knowledge—why Mephisto so deeply desired everything to be destroyed.

Suddenly, a massive amount of raw energy from the First Firmament began pouring into the God Quarry.

Supreme Doom, who was nearest, saw the raw power and tried to absorb as much as he could, hoping to tame it and reshape the multiverse in his own image.

Ant-Man Tony Stark of the Prime Avengers saw the situation and suddenly threw a device that enlarged the cosmic power Doom was trying to control.

Doom, who had been taming a small stream of cosmic power, felt petrified as the energy suddenly increased a hundredfold.

Sigurd, who had been waiting, appeared in front of Doom and punched him like a ragdoll. He then looked at the cosmic power flowing from the First Firmament and toward the hole Mephisto had created.

"Handle this guy. I'll seal the barrier."

Odin heard the words and appeared directly in front of Mephisto, who was already injured from his fight with Thor and Firehair.

"Stay down, or I will personally kill you here."

Sigurd, who had begun absorbing the cosmic power, felt his strength—already far beyond multiversal levels—begin to increase. This time, however, he did not use the power to enhance himself but instead began to manipulate it to repair the damage caused by the Masters of Evil.

Loki, protector of the Multiverse, sensed what Sigurd was doing and did not try to stop him, instead watching with anticipation.

Sigurd effortlessly began reshaping the world with energy. Though he felt the overwhelming scale of the power, he sensed no danger from it. At the same time, he started repairing the barrier using cosmic energy.

Supreme Doom watched Sigurd manipulate the cosmic power with ease, but his mind was still reeling from the tremor caused by the power he had tried to tame. Doom began looking for an escape, but found he could not move. He turned and saw Sigurd smiling at him.

Damn it, who is this person? I should have known about him.

Though he tried to recall every character from that era, he could remember none like Sigurd. Suddenly, he felt something draining his power—completely beyond his control.

Everyone focused on Sigurd heard a loud cry from Doom. When they turned, they saw Doom's body disintegrating into dust.

Odin looked at Sigurd, knowing this was likely his brother's doing. At the same time, he saw the hole in the barrier beginning to repair itself, energy flowing from Sigurd's hands.

Sigurd watched the barrier healing and considered the cosmic power he had gained—far more than he needed.

This power is still excessive. If I want to integrate it properly, it will take considerable time.

Then he thought of Hela. Well, this power might help Hela control her godhead, but she can't handle much yet. That will also take time.

Having repaired the barrier and restored the damage done by the Masters of Evil, Sigurd looked toward the Avengers Prime.

"This time, you've lost many."

He then turned toward the fallen Avengers and Deathloks. With a flick of his hand, he used the Dark Phoenix power he had extracted to revive the dead. Suddenly, he remembered the two who had fallen on Midgard.

How could I forget them?

Just as he thought to return to Midgard, Odin placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Do not resurrect them. They knew before the battle that they would die."

Sigurd shook his head. "But it doesn't make sense. They are powerful beings who could shape Midgard's fate."

Odin looked at Sigurd, about to speak, but Firehair turned to him and said, "Sigurd Borson, sometimes a peaceful death is preferable to living on as something that could endanger those you hold dear."

Sigurd tried to understand their perspective. Though he possessed great knowledge and power, their viewpoint still eluded him.

"Very well. Let it be as you wish." He then looked toward the Avengers from the future.

"I know you may have known me, but there are restrictions on your memories—likely the work of my future self. I will not delve into that."

He turned back to the barrier. "But this place poses more danger than it offers power. While restructuring the broken worlds, I allowed everyone—past and present—to forget this incident, so that none will act out of desperation again."

Avengers Prime Loki looked at Sigurd. "But we reside in the God Quarry. How can you erase our memories?"

Sigurd looked at Loki, confused. "Didn't you hear what I said? I was speaking of those outside this place. You remain here, so it does not affect you. Even if you leave to fight, none of you will lose your memory—only those on the opposing side will."

Loki remained puzzled but sensed there was more to Sigurd's words than he understood. After all, he himself had crossed boundaries and learned little from the beings beyond except echoes of his own past.

Sigurd looked at the damaged Avengers Tower and, with a thought, restored it to its former glory.

Then, speaking to Loki alone, he added, "Do not dwell on it too deeply. It was merely a precaution. No one knows what a desperate hero might do to save their loved ones. As for your memory—I did not touch it."
