Chapter 29 - [29] : Divine Offspring

Silas pretended to be under control while secretly eavesdropping on Lanevus and Hood Eugen's conversation.

As he listened, he gradually figured out their situation.

It turned out that Hood Eugen was a Beyonder from a mysterious organization called the "Psychology Alchemists."

He entered this asylum not because he had mental illness, but to meet the needs of digesting his own potion. He called this process "acting."

As for Lanevus, he was also a Beyonder of unknown pathway and sequence. He fabricated the iron mine investment scam partly to plunder money, and partly to act out his own pathway.

The two had known each other before and had a mutually exploitative relationship.

Good grief, you all know to use "acting" to digest your potions, while I'm the only official Beyonder kept in the dark!

Silas listened with gritted teeth.

He was beginning to feel uneasy. These two Beyonders of unknown pathways together would definitely be stronger than him.

If they discovered he was an official Beyonder, his situation would definitely be extremely dangerous.

Thinking this, he could only continue pretending to be controlled while secretly thinking about how to respond.

In the current situation, the best outcome would be for Lanevus and Hood Eugen to leave after their chat, with Silas pretending he knew nothing.

Then, after being discharged tomorrow, he'd immediately rush back to headquarters to get the captain, have Dunn bring a large force, arrest Hood Eugen first, and then catch Lanevus.

Unfortunately, reality never matches people's expectations.

"Alright, that's enough reminiscing."

Lanevus placed the lamp on the bedside table, but kept the bag firmly in his hand.

"I came to you because there's something I need your help with. I think you'll definitely be willing to help me."

"Tell me what it is first."

Hood Eugen became wary.

"Have you heard of the Aurora Order? I got something good from them..."

"Are you insane?!"

Hood Eugen's body jerked as if pricked by a needle, and his voice involuntarily rose.

"You actually dare deal with those lunatics!

Don't you know that the official Beyonders in Tingen City are about to completely uproot the local Aurora Order?!"

"Hey, calm down, my friend."

Lanevus didn't care at all.

Instead, he switched to a more seductive tone and asked Hood Eugen back, "Don't you want to advance further in your sequence, or have the chance to reach a high sequence in this lifetime?"

Hood Eugen couldn't help but freeze at those words.

Lanevus took the opportunity to stand up.

The lamplight illuminated his body, casting a huge black shadow on the wall behind him. For a moment, it seemed as if that shadow was his true form.

"Hood Eugen, this is the worst of times and the best of times.

As long as we can seize the opportunity, we too can become masters of the world, become truly immortal!"

"As long as you provide help, I will not only tell you how to master the power of potions and avoid losing control, but I also promise that in the future, I'll let you obtain a bit of divinity, immortal divinity!"

"You should be able to tell which existence stands behind me. My promise is His promise, and in a sense, the Psychology Alchemists also have a certain relationship with Him."

"Don't doubt it. The Psychology Alchemists aren't currently strong enough to provide you with sufficient help, unless you're willing to stay at your current level forever."

Lanevus smiled with slight madness, using his magnetic voice to speak tempting words. "So, what's your answer? Will you help me or not?"

In the quiet ward, Hood Eugen's heavy breathing could be heard. Clearly, he was tempted.

Idiot.

Silas thought to himself.

This Lanevus was obviously an extremely treacherous swindler.

He must have used similar rhetoric to lure investors initially. If Hood Eugen believed his lies, he'd probably end up as a discarded pawn once he was used up.

"Tell me, what exactly do you want to do?"

Hood Eugen took the bait.

Silas saw the corners of Lanevus's mouth turn up imperceptibly.

He pulled out a manuscript and displayed it to the other party. "This is a miraculous ritual from the Aurora Order that can make a mortal woman conceive the offspring of a god!"

What?!

Silas was greatly shocked and almost cried out.

Fortunately, Hood Eugen was even more flustered, drawing away Lanevus's attention and preventing him from being exposed.

"You've truly gone mad!"

Hood Eugen almost shrieked.

He was so panicked that he even wanted to refuse Lanevus, but the latter had to use his persuasive techniques again before he hesitantly agreed.

What an absolute lunatic.

Silas thought to himself.

He retrieved information about this ritual from his mind.

The essence of this ritual was to use a female as a seedbed, catalyzed by massive human resentment, to pray for the True Creator's projection to descend and gestate offspring within the mother's body.

After this, the woman would have normal pregnancy reactions until childbirth.

But how could a mortal body bear the offspring of an evil god?

So, at the moment the divine child was born, the mother who gave birth to Him would become His first sacrifice.

Afterward, the divine child would trigger a massive disaster, plunging the world into fear...

Cruel, evil, insane!

"I've already prepared everything. All you need to do is hypnotize that woman and have her cooperate with our ritual."

Lanevus said with a smile, showing no sense of guilt. "Let's hurry. Her carriage has been waiting downstairs for quite a while."

Hood Eugen could only stand up and follow Lanevus, who picked up the gas lamp again, as they headed out.

Silas acted dazed and confused, his eyes unfocused, letting them brush past him.

Hurry up and leave so I can report you...

"Oh, right, I heard that with a living sacrifice, the ritual's success rate is a bit higher. Let's try using him."

Just then, Lanevus suddenly turned back and pointed at Silas, saying to Hood Eugen.

What the hell?

Damn you, are you sick?!

Silas cursed wildly in his heart, watching as Hood Eugen shook the bell once more and then said to him, "Follow us."

With no other choice, he could only pretend to be controlled, following behind them in a daze as they went downstairs.

The inpatient building at night was dark and gloomy. Their footsteps echoed in the corridor.

They descended the stairs, walked out the building door, and Silas saw that the asylum's main gate was open, with a carriage parked outside.

Lanevus walked over alone and carried out a young woman from inside the carriage, then returned to them with light steps.

This was a beautiful girl with long golden hair, currently with her eyes half-open, seemingly unconscious.

"Who is this?"

Hood Eugen asked with a frown. "Where did you get her?"

"Her?"

Lanevus tilted his head and thought. "I think she was arranged for me by those idiots... my fiancée?"

"Fiancée? Are you serious?"

Hood Eugen said in astonishment.

"Of course I'm serious."

Lanevus placed the girl on a stone table in the open space and reached out to pat her cheek. "She loves me so much, of course, I have to give her the most beautiful experience in the world."

What a monster.

In the darkness, Silas clenched his fist slightly.

Then I won't hold back.
