Chapter 184 - [185] : Lucky Wheel

The Queen's interrogation had barely begun when Herras underwent a strange transformation.

His remaining head decomposed into pure flesh and blood, shooting skyward as if to explode in midair and become an obvious signal marker.

But before it could fly out of the palace, the Queen's invisible servant proactively stepped forward and swallowed the mass of flesh.

"Bang!"

Brilliant fireworks exploded inside the servant's belly.

Because it was semi-transparent, the fireworks' light shone through its body, briefly flickering within the palace.

Obviously, he had been silenced.

"A special method targeting spirituality itself?"

The Queen's voice turned slightly cold.

Inside the servant's abdomen, the charred flesh slid down along the edges.

Soon, scattered points of light separated from within, fusing and condensing into one, transforming into a deep black gavel.

"Looks like he was a Beyonder from the Arbiter pathway, Sequence 6."

The Queen said, "My apologies for destroying your sheep. You were planning to graze him, weren't you?"

Grazing required the sheep's spirituality. Now that Herras's soul had been completely destroyed, there was naturally no way to graze him anymore.

"No choice."

Silas shook his head. "Who told them to prepare countermeasures in advance?"

If he had actually grazed Herras, the one that exploded just now might have been his own body.

He pulled out the remaining bodies of the other three Beyonders from within himself for the Queen to investigate.

But perhaps because their levels were lower, the three knew no specific information and had simply been following Herras's orders.

As for Capin, he wasn't a Beyonder.

After all this time had passed, his spirituality had long since dissipated.

"Very unfortunate that we couldn't obtain further leads."

Silas said to the Queen.

"No, I'm already quite satisfied."

The Queen said softly.

"At least we know Military Intelligence Division Nine is behind this. I can investigate around them now."

Silas had learned from internal Nighthawk materials that Military Intelligence Division Nine was an intelligence agency directly under the military, extremely secretive with tremendous power.

But her tone was very calm, as if she wasn't particularly wary of this organization.

Even more composed than I imagined...

Silas thought.

He had speculated about the Queen's identity.

She organized gatherings in the suburbs of Backlund and maintained a friendly attitude toward unofficial Beyonders, so she probably wasn't with the authorities, at least not with the Loen authorities.

So what kind of important figure could she be?

She calls herself Queen. Could she be royalty from another country?

"Well then."

The Queen's long riding boots hit the ground with a crisp impact. "You've essentially completed my commission."

That's considered complete?

Silas's heart stirred, remembering the reward they had agreed upon.

"Then, Your Majesty, about the reward you promised..."

That Beyonder item perfectly suited for him, the dagger called "Agony"!

"Of course I'll give it to you."

The Queen said.

Only then did Silas's heart relax slightly, but then he heard her say, "It's just..."

"Just what?"

"It's just that I've temporarily lent that Beyonder item to someone else, so I can't give it to you immediately."

The Queen said, "After all, I didn't expect you to find leads so quickly. I originally thought it would take you at least a few months."

True, if it weren't for his landlady Emily being captured, who knows how much time it would have taken to find leads.

But what kind of reason was that? He had completed the commission on his end but couldn't receive the reward he was due?

"When can I get it then?"

Silas's tone carried a hint of dissatisfaction.

"It will need to be two months from now, because the current holder needs it to complete their acting."

The Queen's voice was calm, as if she hadn't sensed his dissatisfaction.

"How about this: as compensation, I'll first give you another Beyonder item. When I get Agony back, I'll contact you immediately."

"...That works."

Silas thought for a moment and nodded.

If she would give an extra Beyonder item as compensation, he could accept that.

"Swoosh."

A list floated down from the throne, and the Queen's voice came. "You can choose one that suits you from these items."

Hmm?

Silas took the list and couldn't help but be stunned, because it was densely packed, clearly listing the usage and negative effects of each item.

There were at least dozens of them.

This Queen's collection is way too extensive...

He thought in surprise.

Is this what a big shot in the mystical world is like?

Or does she have craftsmen behind her specifically making things for her?

Such thoughts flashed through his mind before Silas quickly suppressed them.

The list was really too long and required him to browse and analyze quickly, or else it would drag on too long.

Honestly, everything on the list was quite good, with obvious effects and minimal side effects.

Perhaps the Queen really did have a highly skilled craftsman behind her who could provide so many good things.

Silas spent several minutes selecting and finally settled on one item.

"Your Majesty, I choose the 'Lucky Wheel.'"

He put down the list and said.

"That one? It's indeed very suitable for you."

The Queen said nothing more but had a servant open the treasury door to retrieve the Beyonder item he wanted.

It was a silver-colored revolver with an exquisite design and slender barrel.

Silas took the revolver from the servant's hand, and the corresponding description automatically surfaced in his mind.

"Lucky Wheel."

"Appearance: a silvery-white revolver."

"Main effects: Makes the holder lucky.

This luck is passive and fluctuates high and low. Additionally, this revolver has precise shooting ability.

Bullets fired from this revolver will accurately hit their target."

"Furthermore, this gun has a special ability: Lucky Wheel. The holder must empty the cylinder, load only one bullet, then spin the cylinder and close the wheel."

"In this state, the holder can aim at their own head and pull the trigger. Each time it fires empty, approximately 20% power will accumulate in the revolver, reaching maximum strength after five times.

At that point, the fired bullet's power will be greatly enhanced."

"Side effect: While the holder becomes lucky, they also become unlucky. The two aspects are generally balanced, and the unlucky aspect mainly brings harm to the holder."

This revolver could be said to be extremely suitable for Silas.

First, his shooting talent wasn't high.

His current ranged methods were only setting fires and bombs.

Although they had decent power, their accuracy was still lacking. As for making himself lucky, he felt that was more like icing on the cake. Nice to have, but not essential.

What he valued most was that special ability called "Lucky Wheel."

Called "Lucky Wheel," but it was completely just Russian roulette!

Hitting yourself would mean death; firing empty would accumulate power.

For ordinary people, this would be an extremely dangerous move, but for Silas, taking a bullet to the head wasn't a big deal.
