Chapter 27 - chapter 27

Screen 1 – A Familiar Doorway

The air bends.

Time folds in on itself like turning a page.

A glowing gate opens, and Professor Paradox steps out, hands in his coat pockets, smiling like this was always scheduled.

"Benjamin Tennyson," Paradox says lightly,

"Before you go… are you sure you don't want to meet your old friend one last time?"

Ben pauses.

He looks at the gate.

Then he smiles — soft, certain.

"…Yeah," Ben says. "I do."

Beside him, Rook Blonko tilts his head, clearly confused.

"Old friend? Ben, you did not mention—"

Paradox chuckles.

"Oh, don't worry. You'll catch up eventually."

Rook exhales, straightening his posture.

"…Very well. If this is important to you, Ben, then I will come as well."

Ben grins.

"Good."

The gate widens, light spilling across the ground.

Ben steps forward.

Rook follows.

Paradox tips his hat.

"Try not to break causality," he says cheerfully.

The three disappear into the glow —

heading toward a meeting that isn't about power…

but about closure.

Screen 2 – Eight Years Later

The light fades as the gate closes behind them.

The world on the other side feels… calm.

Professor Paradox folds his hands behind his back.

"The war is over," he says gently.

"Cities are rebuilding.

Hero society is quieter now. Slower. More human."

He gestures toward the skyline — cranes, repaired buildings, people walking without fear.

"No big fights.

No villains to chase.

Just… aftermath."

Ben stands still, taking it in.

No sirens.

No tension in the air.

"…Huh," Ben says softly.

"So this is what winning actually looks like."

There's no smile at first.

Just relief. And something heavier beneath it.

"Eight years," Paradox adds.

Ben exhales slowly.

"Guess we really did change things."

Rook Blonko scans the city carefully, optics adjusting.

"The reduced threat level is… remarkable," he says.

"By Plumber standards, this world has entered a sustained recovery phase."

He looks at Ben.

"You appear conflicted."

Ben nods.

"Yeah. I keep expecting something bad to happen."

Rook considers that.

"Many soldiers experience this after prolonged conflict.

Peace can feel… unfamiliar."

Ben glances at the people below — kids laughing, heroes helping rebuild instead of fight.

"…Deku did this," he says quietly.

"He gave it a future without him standing in front all the time."

Rook places a hand on Ben's shoulder.

"Then his choice was strategically and morally sound."

Ben finally smiles — small, real.

"Yeah. It was."

Professor Paradox turns back toward them, satisfied.

"Closure achieved," he says lightly. "Shall we?"

Ben nods.

"Yeah. I think I'm ready."

Rook straightens.

"As am I."

The city continues on behind them —

not perfect,

but peaceful.

And for the first time in a long while,

Ben doesn't feel the need to stay and fight.

Screen 3 – What Ben Did

Rook Blonko looks out over the rebuilt city.

"Ben… clarify something for me. How exactly did you help this world?"

Ben thinks for a moment.

Then answers simply.

"I didn't fix it," he says.

"I held it together long enough for them to fix themselves."

Rook turns to him.

"I fought when they needed time," Ben continues.

"I protected civilians when heroes were breaking."

"I stopped things from getting worse — not so I could win, but so they could."

Rook nods slowly.

"You acted as a stabilizing force. Not a savior."

Ben smiles.

"Yeah. Deku ended the cycle.

Class 1-A rebuilt trust.

I just made sure the world didn't collapse before that happened."

Rook places a hand on his chest in respect.

"Then your contribution was decisive."

Ben looks back at the quiet streets.

"…It was worth it."

Screen 4 – A Different Kind of Hero

U.A. High feels quieter than Ben remembers.

Stronger, somehow.

Students move between classes. Not running to battle — learning.

Professor Paradox gestures toward a training field.

"There," he says.

Ben sees him.

Izuku Midoriya, standing in front of a group of students, sleeves rolled up, voice calm and steady.

No lightning.

No pressure in the air.

Just presence.

"He doesn't have One For All," Paradox adds lightly.

"And he chose this."

Ben watches as Deku corrects a stance, encourages a nervous student, smiles when someone gets it right.

"…Yeah," Ben says quietly.

"That tracks."

The Reunion

Deku notices them at the edge of the field.

His eyes widen — then soften.

"Ben?"

Ben grins.

"Hey, Sensei."

Deku laughs, shaking his head as he walks over.

"You came back."

"Just checking on the world you saved," Ben replies.

Deku looks down at his hands — steady, scarred, human.

"I'm not on the front lines anymore."

Ben cuts in immediately.

"And yet everyone here is better because of you."

Deku meets his eyes.

"…I still help people. Just differently."

Ben nods with genuine respect.

"That's not a downgrade. That's choosing what lasts."

Rook Blonko Meets Deku

Rook steps forward, posture formal.

"I am Rook Blonko of the Plumbers."

Deku straightens instinctively.

"Midoriya Izuku. U.A. instructor."

Rook studies him for a moment — no scanners, no judgment.

"Your combat capability is no longer primary," he says.

"Yet your strategic and moral influence remains high."

Deku blinks.

"…Thank you?"

Rook nods.

"You are no longer a weapon.

You are infrastructure."

Ben smirks.

"Highest compliment he's got."

Deku smiles — a real one.

The bell rings.

Students return to class.

Ben looks around U.A. one last time.

"…Yeah," he says softly.

"This world's in good hands."

Deku watches them turn toward the gate.

"So… you heading home?"

Ben glances back.

"Different worlds," he says.

"Same reason to keep going."

Rook inclines his head.

"Your legacy here is secure, Instructor Midoriya."

As the gate opens and light spills out,

Deku stands tall — not as a symbol,

but as a teacher.

And Ben leaves knowing the future doesn't need saving anymore

Screen 5 – Equals

The training field shakes with controlled explosions — not wild, not angry.

Precise. Efficient.

Ben stops walking.

"…No way."

Across the field stands Bakugo Katsuki — calm, sharp-eyed, giving instructions to a group of students.

No shouting.

No ego.

Just authority.

Deku stands beside him, reviewing notes.

They exchange a look — equal footing, unspoken trust.

Ben lets out a low whistle.

"Okay. That's the most shocking thing I've seen in this world."

Deku smiles.

"He grew into it."

Bakugo notices them and clicks his tongue.

"Tch. Staring's rude, alien."

Ben grins.

"Relax. I'm impressed."

Bakugo scoffs — but there's no bite in it.

"Obviously."

Rook Blonko Meets Bakugo

Rook steps forward, posture formal.

"Katsuki Bakugo. Your combat efficiency and leadership development are… notable."

Bakugo squints.

"…You a cop?"

Rook considers.

"Law enforcement-adjacent."

Bakugo snorts.

"Figures."

Rook continues calmly.

"You channel explosive force without emotional instability.

This indicates significant growth."

Bakugo blinks.

Then smirks.

"…You're weird," he says.

"But you've got eyes."

Rook inclines his head.

"I consider that mutual."

Ben watches the exchange, surprised.

"…Did you just make a friend?"

Bakugo scoffs.

"Don't push it."

But he offers Rook a nod anyway.

Two warriors.

Different worlds.

Same respect.

Ben looks back at Deku and Bakugo — standing side by side.

"…Yeah," he says quietly.

"This future's solid."

Screen 6 – A Hero, Reimagined

The training hall lights dim as a case slides open at the center of the room.

Inside rests a new battle suit — sleek, reinforced, built for mobility and protection rather than raw power.

Bakugo stands with his arms crossed.

"Don't get it twisted," he says. "This isn't charity."

Ben raises a brow.

Bakugo continues, voice steady.

"Class 1-A alumni funded it.

You taught us. You saved us.

Now you stop pretending you're done."

Deku stares at the suit, stunned.

"…You all did this?"

Uraraka smiles.

"We wanted you to keep helping people — your way."

Ben steps closer, examining the design.

"Smart build," he says. "Defense-first. Support mobility. You won't break yourself."

Rook Blonko scans it with quiet interest.

"This equipment restores operational capacity without reliance on volatile power sources," he notes.

"A logical evolution."

Deku hesitates — then nods.

"…Alright."

Back in the Field (One Last Time)

Night patrol. Quiet streets. No panic.

Ben lands beside Deku, Omnitrix humming softly.

"Ready, Sensei?"

Deku flexes his gloved hands, the suit responding smoothly.

"Ready."

A minor villain breaks cover.

Before fear spreads, Rook moves — staff locking the target down cleanly.

Ben switches forms to contain the area.

Deku steps in, calm and precise, guiding the arrest and checking for bystanders.

No spectacle.

No lightning.

Just teamwork.

Ben smiles.

"See? You never stopped being a hero."

Rook nods.

"Your influence is now both strategic and operational. Efficient."

Deku looks at the quiet street, then back at his friends.

"…Thanks. For not letting me disappear."

The patrol ends without incident.

Three heroes stand under the streetlights —

from different worlds, different paths —

doing the same work.

And it's enough.

Screen 7 – A Missing Piece

The campus is quiet in the evening.

Lights glow softly from dorm windows.

Midoriya stands under a tree, hands folded, nervous in a way he hasn't been in years.

Not from villains.

From honesty.

Ochaco approaches, slow and unsure.

"I… had a dream," she says softly.

"Toga was there. She told me it was okay to choose my own happiness."

Midoriya looks up, surprised.

Ochaco takes a breath.

"I've always loved you, Deku. I just kept putting it last."

Midoriya's voice is gentle.

"I thought saving the world meant giving everything else up.

But I was wrong."

They stand there for a long moment — then smile.

Not dramatic.

Not rushed.

Just real.

They walk away together, hands brushing — choosing a future that isn't only about sacrifice.

A few steps back, Ben watches from a distance, arms crossed, smiling.

"…Yeah. About time."

Rook Blonko tilts his head.

"So. The human has acquired a romantic partner."

Ben snorts.

Rook looks at Ben seriously.

"Do you have a girlfriend in this world as well?"

Ben shakes his head.

"Nope. Not yet."

Rook blinks.

"Why not?"

Ben shrugs casually.

"I've got time."

Rook considers this, then nods.

"A reasonable strategy."

Screen 8 – A Quiet, Perfect Ending

Time moves forward.

Hero society is no longer frantic —

it's healthy.

Cities thrive.

Heroes teach as much as they fight.

Trust slowly rebuilds.

Deku teaches by day, patrols when needed.

Ochaco is by his side — grounded, strong, choosing happiness without guilt.

Bakugo leads with clarity.

Class 1-A stands as legends — not because of power, but because of what they built.

Ben prepares to leave, standing beside Rook and Professor Paradox.

He looks back one last time.

"…Yeah. This world's gonna be fine."

Rook places a hand over his chest.

"You helped ensure that."

The portal opens.

Ben steps forward —

not running from anything,

not chasing another war —

just moving on, satisfied.

The mystery of Deku's future remains —

not as a question of power,

but of life.

And that's okay.

Because some endings aren't about answers.

They're about peace.

The end
