Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Be Obedient

"Why won't you treat me! Do you know who I am? I'm from the Lawrence Clan!"

Early in the morning, an exasperated man's voice came from Mondstadt's city square. He looked angrily at Durandal, constantly trying to tell her his identity.

"Who do you think you are? Just because you have some special abilities, you think you're amazing? I'm telling you, if you don't treat me, I'll make sure you can't stay in Mondstadt."

Durandal narrowed her eyes, looking at the man in front of her with a hint of disgust. He had suddenly appeared while she was examining someone, arrogantly telling Durandal to follow him and to treat him.

Durandal ignored him, and he became furious, pointing at Durandal's face and cursing loudly, drawing the attention of those nearby.

Many people recognized the man's identity. The Lawrence Clan already had a poor reputation in Mondstadt, and seeing him treat Durandal this way made their gazes even more hostile.

Durandal wasn't entirely clear what the Lawrence Clan represented, but from his attitude, he seemed to be some kind of noble. However, the onlookers' gazes were filled with anger, indicating that this so-called noble was likely no longer a big deal.

Durandal didn't want to waste her breath on such a person. She focused her attention on the girl in front of her. Her problem was a severe wound infection, which would take a lot of time to treat even if she went to a doctor or a Preacher using a Vision, and there was a risk of it worsening if not handled properly.

After absorbing the "poison," Durandal took out the pre-prepared bandages and bound the wound, tying a beautiful bow at the end.

Seeing the pretty bow, the girl gave Durandal a cute smile, "Thank you, older sister."

Durandal reached out and stroked the girl's head, taking out a candy Lumine had given her. She said candy worked wonders on children and could also reward those who cooperated with treatment.

This girl was very cooperative and gave her a good feeling, so Durandal decided to give her a sweet candy as a reward.

The man from the Lawrence Clan saw that Durandal was ignoring him and still talking to the girl, and his temper flared up instantly.

He knew very well that the Lawrence Clan was no longer as glorious as before. At this time, they were Sinners in Mondstadt, and as a descendant of Sinners, he shouldn't stand out too much or do anything attention-grabbing in public.

But some people are always self-important. Upon learning that their family once had immense power in Mondstadt, some considered themselves superior, believing that other residents of Mondstadt should serve them, and that they were inherently nobler than these people.

"I'm telling you, although the Lawrence Clan has declined, we nobles are always looking for opportunities to restore the family's glory. You people, at that time, will only be fit to..."

"Have you said enough? If not, go say it at the Knights of Favonius. Now, seize him!"

Before he could finish his sentence, several Knights of Favonius members appeared beside him, grabbing his hands and subduing him.

"How dare you! How dare you treat me like this! Especially you, Eula! You're actually helping outsiders against me! I am your elder brother, is this how you show respect to your elder brother?"

The man pointed at the Damselette who had come with the Knights of Favonius members and questioned her.

The Damselette was very beautiful, her shoulder-length hair adorned with a lace hairband, a lock of hair falling over her left shoulder, and a winged shawl around her slender neck, noble and elegant, without losing her composure.

Her tight battle suit hugged her full and slender figure, completely rivaling Rosaria's, making people unable to help but take a few extra glances.

"Respect? I don't see anything on you worthy of respect. I only see an exasperated fellow barking wildly in public."

Eula crossed her arms, completely unfazed by the man's questioning, and motioned for the Knights of Favonius members to take him back to the Knights of Favonius.

He had said something worth noting: that his family was trying to find opportunities to restore its former glory. This was no small matter.

It wasn't a cause for joy, but rather concern. If the Lawrence Clan's glory were truly restored, only suffering would await Mondstadt. Despite being a descendant of the Lawrence Clan, she would not allow such a thing to happen.

After the man was taken away, Eula looked at Durandal. She had heard about this girl, who had recently become famous in Mondstadt, from the Knights of Favonius.

She had intended to tell her not to worry about the man's threats, but noticing the people around them pointing and whispering, Eula hesitated and chose to turn and leave.

Durandal watched Eula leave. She clearly heard the discussions of the people around her, understanding that both she and the person who was taken away were members of the so-called Lawrence Clan.

However, their behaviors, despite being from the same family, were completely different. It seemed one couldn't generalize about everyone.

"What's wrong?" Lumine, who had just returned from completing a delivery mission for Nordic Hunt, saw the crowd and came to Durandal's side, asking, "Did something happen here, Durandal?"

"Yes, a man from the Lawrence Clan came and demanded that I go back with him to treat him."

Durandal briefly described the scene that had just occurred to Lumine. Even though she hadn't seen it firsthand, her expression turned disgusted just from Durandal's description.

"That kind of person is so annoying! Who does he think he is? He even wanted Durandal to go back with him."

Paimon said with a hint of disgust, crossing his arms.

"I suspect he wanted to take Durandal back not for treatment, but because he was interested in Durandal and wanted to forcibly take her away that way."

Lumine offered a unique insight, but Paimon and Durandal didn't grasp the meaning of her words, both turning their gaze towards Lumine.

"Not for healing? Interested in Durandal? What does that mean, Traveler? What does he want to take Durandal back for?"

Durandal also looked at Lumine, as if she could provide a concrete explanation, but how could such a thing be explained concretely, especially on a street? Lumine gave an awkward laugh.

"Nothing... nothing. It's just an irrelevant guess, nothing major."

Lumine quite admired that guy; he actually dared to say such things to Durandal. One must know that Durandal is a God, the kind who can take a life with just a glance. He truly isn't afraid of death.

However... setting aside Durandal's identity as a God, she is truly very cute. From a human perspective, there are no flaws to be found.

She belongs to the cute type, with a 'pseudo-three-no' attribute, not a completely icy face. Occasionally seeing her smile is like winning the lottery.

Cute! In short, she's incredibly cute! It's understandable that such a cute Durandal would attract attention.

This person has entered a strange state again. She's clearly a beautiful Damselette, so why does she occasionally make such strange gestures?

Durandal couldn't understand. When they first met, Lumine had given her the impression of being a quiet type. Yet, ever since coming to Mondstadt, she hadn't seen her stop.

Every day, she's either dealing with various commissions or busy with all sorts of things. Doesn't she get tired? Or is she planning to buy a house in Mondstadt and settle down here?

"You're back so early, have you completed a commission?"

"Yes, Sara asked me to help deliver food to someone in Springvale. It took a little time, but I finally found the person before the deadline. It wasn't easy! Thankfully, there weren't any strange requests, otherwise I'd have to have a serious talk with that person."

The thing she worried about most with these delivery commissions was exceeding the time limit and strange requests. Before, there were requests like 'no running' or 'no touching elements.' At the time, she had to strongly resist the urge to shove the food in the person's face. Is it really necessary to have so many demands just for a meal?

With so many demands, and such a small delivery fee, if it weren't for her outstanding abilities, the delivery fee she ultimately received would probably be higher than the cost of remaking it. And remaking it would come out of her own pocket!

Durandal was unaware of the hardships Lumine endured. This person often told her about the various bizarre commissions she took when they were together, and she had grown used to it.

"Is this also a commission from the Adventurers' Guild? How much compensation do you get for completing a commission?"

"Hmm, Mora and some materials for strengthening weapons. Of course, these are secondary. The most important thing is being able to obtain Primogems; that's what I want most."

"Primogem?"

"Exactly! That's it. You can get up to sixty from the Adventurers' Guild every day."

Lumine showed a Primogem to Durandal. Although it looked like just a pretty Shitou, Durandal felt a special power emanating from it.

Heh~ So she wants these kinds of Shitou. She doesn't know what her purpose is in collecting these Shitou. Could it be that she knows how to use them?

"Do you really need this thing?"

"Hmm, the current demand isn't huge, but there will always be a day when it's needed. Before that day comes, it's always right to save up some."

Lumine's diligent opening of treasure chests in the wilderness was also to find Primogems inside. Currently, her avenues for obtaining Primogems are few, so the daily Adventurer tasks absolutely cannot be missed.

Just then, Lumine suddenly saw Durandal pull something out from behind her. Upon closer inspection, wasn't it the Primogem she had just taken out?

This wasn't Lumine's, but Durandal's own. She... she also has Primogems?

"I have been here since the Archon War, after all. Although I've stayed in Mondstadt, I also have some of these Shitou."

Originally, she had only collected them because she felt the energy they contained. She never expected them to actually come in handy one day.

Lumine looked excitedly at the Primogem in Durandal's hand and said, "Are you going to give me the Primogem? Thank you, you're so kind, Durandal."

As she reached out to take the Primogem, Durandal pulled her hand back, leaving Lumine empty-handed.

"You're not trying to get something for nothing, are you? That won't do. Just like your commissions at the Adventurers' Guild, you also have to complete the tasks I assign you before I'll give you Primogems as a reward."

Putting away the Primogem in her hand, Durandal said, "If you want to get Primogems from me, you'll have to be obedient, understand?"

"Ugh! I... I understand."

Durandal nodded in satisfaction. She had finally found a way to control her.
