Chapter 13 - Auction War

In a good mood, Yao Zhi took the steamed buns given by Wang Shen and went into the house. After she locked the door, she took out the meat sauce and had it with the buns.

While eating, she opened the system and put one of the ginsengs up for auction. As a novice, she picked the smallest ginseng to test the water.

The moment she placed it in the auction box, she was surprised. The wild ginseng was one hundred fifty years old, and the starting price was fifty thousand points.

Yao Zhi thought for a moment before canceling the auction and taking out the smallest ginseng. Then, she took out the spiritual spring jade bottle and opened the lid. While she was skeptical, she still used a drop of spiritual spring.

Then, she waited for five minutes, but nothing happened. Feeling disappointed, she put the ginseng back in the auction warehouse and put it up for auction.

Afterward, Yao Zhi closed the system and finished her dinner. Although there were only three steamed buns, with the addition of mung beans, she was full.

After she washed the dishes and brushed her teeth, she took off her outer robe and went to sleep.

Unbeknownst to her, due to the addition of the spiritual spring, the efficacy of the wild ginseng had tripled. Therefore, the starting price also increased from fifty thousand points to one hundred thousand points.

While she was sleeping, a bidding war happened on the platform, and the price of her wild ginseng continued to shoot up.

Early the next morning, before dawn, Yao Zhi woke up due to the crow of the rooster. Opening her eyes, she stared at the thatch roof for a while before she pushed herself up.

Today, her body was still covered in a layer of black goo. But compared to yesterday, the stench was milder and the color was lighter.

Recalling the Xianxia and Wuxia stories she had read before, a thought flashed in her mind. "Is this the impurity inside my body?" she muttered to herself.

According to the logic of a fantasy story, since she had consumed the spiritual spring, it was normal for the impurity inside her body to be expelled. When she reached this conclusion, she no longer had any doubts.

After she wiped the bamboo bed clean, she went to boil some water for washing up. The sky was still dark, with stars scattered across it. The air was fresh and cool.

Thinking about the well water, she suspected that her diarrhea might have been caused by consuming unboiled water. Drinking well water was not healthy, and she should find a way to get a new source of water.

But, the area near the border was facing drought. Not to mention a new source of water, most of the wells in the nearby area had dried up. She might have to go to the mountain to find a new source of water.

However, thinking about the distance between the mountain and her house, even if she found one, it would be troublesome to bring the water back. Not to mention, the mountain was full of wild beasts.

What if she met a beast before she found the water?

After thinking for a long time, she still couldn't find any solution. Letting out a sigh, she muttered, "At worst, I would just buy water from the shop."

One coin could buy five gallons of mineral water in the shop. With her current points, she still had the capability to buy water!

Soon after, the water was boiled. She took out the firewood and put it aside, leaving only some embers in the stove. The wooden tub and wooden bucket were too heavy, so she bought a big plastic basin and a plastic bucket from the shop for fifteen coins.

After buying the bucket and basin, she brought the water into the room. She poured the hot water in and added several buckets of well water. Thanks to the lightweight plastic bucket, she finished the task in less than ten minutes.

When she was done, she closed the door and took out the soap and body scrubber from her storage. Then, she added three drops of spiritual spring water into the basin.

Before she soaked in the basin, she brushed her teeth and washed her face before she cleaned her body with the body scrubber.

She needed to scrub her body twice before finally removing the black goo. Only when she was sure that there was no black goo left on her skin did Yao Zhi enter the basin.

This time, she used body soap and cleaned her body thoroughly. While she was soaking, she touched the bandage on her head. Thinking that she had to change the dressing on her wound, she took off the bandage.

She thought that it would take at least a week for her wound to scab. Unexpectedly, when she touched the back of her head, she was stunned. She touched her head here and there but couldn't find any wound or scar at all.

A realization dawned on her, and her eyes lit up. "It seems that the spiritual spring can heal wounds, too!" she exclaimed in delight.

Since she no longer had any wounds, she was finally able to wash her hair. Without further ado, she took out a bottle of shampoo from her shop's warehouse and washed her hair.

Perhaps the original soul rarely washed her hair, it took Yao Zhi five washes before the shampoo produced any foams. She washed two more times before she managed to see the original color of her hair.

When she finally finished her bath, the sky had changed color. Recalling that she had promised Wang Shen to go to the border market today, she quickly wiped her body, changed into a set of clean clothes, and tidied up the room.

She didn't know how to style her hair, so she just wiped it with a towel until it was half dry and tied it into a bun before wrapping it with a piece of fabric.

Soon after she poured out the bath water, she heard Wang Shen's voice coming from the gate. "Yao girl, have you woken up?"
