Chapter 254 – He Really Knows Nothing?!!
"He doesn't know at all?"
Mr. Vorley repeated the question with great effort, as if hoping he had misheard.
Kassandra weakly shook her head.
"He's always with that Gryffindor girl. What am I supposed to do?"
Her tone grew resentful. "I can't exactly drag him away, can I?"
Mr. Vorley only looked more confused.
"You didn't try anything?"
Wasn't his daughter always sharp-minded and strategic?
"But every time I see him… I can't use any of it."
Kassandra sounded aggrieved.
"It's over then. Truly over."
Mr. Vorley rubbed his temples. His daughter had fallen this far over a boy—what could he possibly do?
"What if your mother and I don't agree?"
He sat across from her, expression solemn.
Kassandra pursed her lips.
She didn't know.
Maybe she couldn't even think that far ahead—after all, the idiot never even looked at her properly.
"Well…"
Mr. Vorley abruptly stood. He was ready to end this frustrating conversation.
Kassandra stiffened.
Did Father think she was too useless and would forbid the relationship?
Would they transfer her?
Would she… not see him anymore?
Transfer…
Well, at least she wouldn't have to trail behind him like a fool.
"Work on yourself."
Mr. Vorley finally said. "When you manage to win him over, then tell your mother and me."
He gave her a pointed look.
"Instead of letting us hear it only after half the world already knows. We even went around asking if the new batch of love potions lasts a month or two!"
He left in irritation.
But Kassandra finally smiled.
Right—she really did have to work harder.
Time passed quickly, and the school year began.
Kassandra sat with Pansy on the train.
Pansy listened to the gossip about her talk with her father and burst out laughing.
"As expected of you. If it were my dad, he would've thrown me out the window. You told your parents before anything even happened!"
"Hmph. Forget that. Go find which carriage he's in and drag him over."
Kassandra snapped irritably.
Pansy wiggled her eyebrows.
"So what's the plan? Call him over in the name of 'mandatory Slytherin unity'?"
Kassandra's face warmed.
"What about it?"
"The moment your family approves, you suddenly act so boldly. Be careful—if Dumbledore finds out you're chasing the Savior's brother, he'll faint."
"He probably already knows. Last time I followed Professor McGonagall into the hospital wing, she caught me."
Kassandra paused. "Does that count as him finding out too?"
"Seems like Dumbledore doesn't plan to stop you," Pansy shrugged. "But either way, calling him over won't work."
Kassandra glared.
"And why not?"
"Because he didn't get on the train."
Pansy smirked. "I overheard the Gryffindor girl telling her friends that he, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley weren't on board. They probably—wait, is that Harry Potter?"
She pointed excitedly at a flying car zooming through the sky.
Kassandra frowned. That thing didn't look safe.
But the idiot wasn't in it—he should be fine.
Only when they reached Hogwarts did she learn that he hadn't come with Harry at all. He'd been escorted by Aurors.
Strange… but she was relieved.
Then she prayed that the car would crash just enough to send Harry to the hospital wing.
Then no one would call the stupid boy away from her every day.
But—
"Miss Kassandra, do you know where my brother is? Tell me and I'll do anything!"
For the second time, the idiot knelt and begged her—for Harry Potter.
Kassandra's irritation skyrocketed.
She had done so much for this fool, and he still didn't look at her.
She refused to tell him.
Then—
He lost control of his magic.
Blood burst from his skin, power crackled wildly.
Kassandra's face turned pale with terror.
What was happening?
Was he going to die—for Harry Potter?
Fortunately, the Head of House said something to calm him, and he slowly regained control.
But he still collapsed to the floor, begging everyone to save his brother.
He was insane. Harry had fallen from the sky, not been shredded.
Still, he panicked like this?
Irritating.
At least the next day, he appeared again—alive, foolish, and running right back to Gryffindor after seeing Harry.
Why wasn't he sorted into Gryffindor!
Annoying.
But she kept watching him anyway.
Perfect behavior in class.
Ran to Gryffindor the moment class ended.
His entire schedule was full—
But without her.
Until one afternoon.
The Slytherin Quidditch team walked in from practice—angry, defeated.
"I told you, don't provoke him! What were you thinking?" Malfoy complained loudly.
Kassandra raised an eyebrow.
They provoked him?
And didn't get hexed?
Pansy hurried over to ask, and the team muttered in embarrassment.
"Flint said Potter was a disgrace to Slytherin."
"And insulted that Gryffindor girl. Called her a Mudblood."
"Yeah, and Darren Porter apologized—with his wand out."
They spoke proudly—completely unaware of the sudden hush in the common room.
Hmm. Insulting the Gryffindor girl—why would the idiot react to that?
He wasn't a disgrace to Slytherin.
He had literally won Slytherin honor with his new antidote.
Kassandra's mood soured. She glared at Flint and silently cast a minor jinx on him.
It was a punishment for tarnishing their House's reputation.
Yes—reputation.
Definitely not because she cared about that idiot.
He didn't even come back to the Slytherin common room.
Why should she care?
She absolutely didn't.
