Chapter 302 – Wronged Heads and Loans!!

"Of course he has!"

Pull-Ring's eyes lit up.

He remembered the Potter family's golden mountains and silver mountains — one hundred thousand Galleons should be no problem for them.

"The Potter family has plenty of Galleons!" Pull-Ring said again.

Ah, this…

Not really.

At the moment, the Potter family vault held only around half a million Galleons.

That was supposed to be the money Darren left for Harry to use in the future.

Using it now would be wrong.

But using his own vault also felt like a loss.

This was clearly a black shop. Why should he let himself be scammed?

Was he stupid?

Unless…

Borrowing.

So Darren hesitated and said, "Those Galleons aren't mine, they're my brother's."

"And my brother is the head of the Potter family — most of the vault belongs to him. I can't be so selfish."

"So… can I write you an IOU for a hundred thousand Galleons?"

"I will try to earn the money back. Four years at most. After I graduate and start working, I'll pay everything back."

"And I'm Harry Potter's younger brother. If you can't find me, you can always find my brother. I won't run away from debt. Is that acceptable?"

Four years later he'd be a billionaire anyway.

Even if there was pressure, the problem could "disappear" along with the creditor.

Pull-Ring stared.

It didn't make sense.

The Potters had millions of Galleons — did they really need to write IOUs?

Even if most belonged to Harry, Darren himself had at least a million.

Why would he need an IOU?

Was he trying to run away?

But then Pull-Ring remembered the rumors.

Maybe Darren was actually that foolishly honest?

"Let me discuss with them."

Pull-Ring walked to a corner where a few people were huddled. They muttered back and forth for a minute.

Finally they returned smiling.

"Haha, Darren Potter, our manager knows your reputation. He trusts you."

"But since you want to repay after four years, no problem — but you must return four hundred thousand Galleons after four years. Because we are waiting for you for four years!"

"I agree!"

Perfect.

Finally, he had his own Galleons.

Darren was ecstatic.

Then he recalled what Pull-Ring said.

He hadn't even thought before agreeing.

He needed to replay the words.

…Damn.

They really treated him like a brainless pushover.

These creditors definitely needed to disappear.

But not in front of Fleur.

It had to look like an "accident" someday.

"No, Potter… four hundred thousand Galleons… you can't pay that…"

Fleur sniffled and shook her head.

Pull-Ring glared sharply at her.

"Can't pay? Then YOU come back here!"

Fleur's tears fell again.

She was miserable.

But she insisted, "I can't let you carry all this debt. I caused it… I should sign the IOU."

"I graduate in three years. I'll pay it back!"

She wiped her tears, trying to sound determined.

Though stubborn and prideful, she wouldn't push all the burden onto Darren.

Darren was torn.

He wanted to agree — after all, he already had the system reward.

But as the little Holy Father, how could he let a young girl take on such debt?

And since the creditor would "disappear," it was better to leave a good impression on Fleur.

So after a tug-of-war, they agreed each would take half: 200,000 Galleons each.

When Fleur signed, her heart collapsed.

Young and already 200,000 Galleons in debt.

She looked back at Darren.

He was smiling.

"Cheer up. I'll work hard. I'm really capable."

He waved the contract and walked back into the school.

He arrived fine, and left with 200,000 Galleons debt.

Luckily, he didn't plan on paying it back.

After all… accidents happen to creditors.

But this whole thing was great for brushing Holy Father value.

Darren returned to Nicolas Flamel looking worried.

"What's wrong? Did you run into that arrogant girl again?"

"I'm telling you, Darren, that kind of girl doesn't suit you. If you want, I can pick a proper French beauty for you."

Nicolas joked.

Darren's face flushed.

"No— no, I—"

He stammered, which amused Nicolas.

But before he continued teasing, he suddenly coughed heavily.

Ever since the loss of the Philosopher's Stone, his body was declining.

"Gigi, come here!"

Darren called the Flamel family's house-elf.

Despite its strange name, Gigi was efficient.

"Old master, young master, what are your orders?"

Gigi beamed.

"It's nothing… Darren is overreacting. I'm fine. Go on back."

Nicolas waved irritably.

He was only coughing; Darren was just too worried.

But Gigi added:

"The old master and young master — Mr. Dumbledore is waiting in the drawing room."

"Albus? What's he doing here? That's troublesome."

Nicolas looked at his fishing rod regretfully.

He had wanted to catch a special fish — extremely delicious yet smart, sensitive to magic, impossible to catch with spells.

Only a Muggle rod worked.

He had waited so long and thought today might be the day.

But sadly…

"Ah… what a pity."
