Chapter 740: Where Will the Elder Wand Be?!!

"Don't be silly. He repaid everything. You don't have to be sad.

Besides, if Bellatrix killed him, you'll take revenge for him later, won't you?"

Hermione said softly.

Her pale face still looked a little haggard.

Darren pretended to notice them only at this moment, and immediately turned his head.

Pretending to be indifferent, he said, "I didn't care… Has his funeral started? I should attend… I…"

[Ding, Father +100]

[Ding, Father +100]

[Ding…]

No one believed his words at all.

"You're standing right here, and Harry is burying Peter Pettigrew down there. Can't you see that?

Before, you would show your pain. Now you won't even say anything…"

Remus Lupin said softly.

He pressed a hand onto Darren's shoulder.

"After the funeral, do you want me to cast a Stunning Spell on you?"

Darren shook his head.

"No… I've grown up…"

He forced a smile.

Pretending nothing was wrong.

He helped Hermione up.

They walked down the slope.

Harry had already buried Peter Pettigrew's body.

He had even created a tombstone with his wand.

Darren looked at it.

It was blank. Harry clearly hadn't known what to write.

Darren looked at Lupin and Sirius.

The two were silent for a moment.

Then Sirius stepped forward solemnly.

He raised his wand.

Words appeared on the tombstone.

He was a man who found redemption.

"We should say something too…"

Lupin said with a faint smile.

He stepped forward first.

"Thank you… for saving Darren."

Harry subconsciously looked at Darren.

Darren's face was expressionless.

As if he felt nothing.

But Harry knew better.

Darren must be hurting.

His eyes were dark.

Heavy shadows beneath them.

It was obvious he hadn't been resting well at Hogwarts—and now he had witnessed death again.

Next was Sirius.

"Dust to dust. I don't hate you anymore."

Luna also stepped forward and said a few quiet words.

Finally—

They all looked at Darren.

Darren didn't know what to say.

He thought for a moment.

Then shook his head.

"That's enough…"

Lupin raised his wand.

The final layer of soil settled over the grave.

Then—

He pointed his wand at Darren.

"Stupefy."

Darren could have dodged.

But in this situation—

It was better not to.

He didn't resist.

Nor did he use his Holy Father points to break the spell.

He collapsed gently into Hermione's arms.

---

When he woke up—

He found himself lying on a sofa.

Covered with Hermione's coat.

Hermione was holding his hand, as if trying to pass him warmth.

They were in the living room.

Bill and the others were talking nearby.

"…Fortunately, Darren realized this early and has been trying to move Ginny and the others somewhere safe…

Now Mum and Dad are back at Grimmauld Place. Darren changed the Secret Keeper—and gave the position to Pagie…"

"Pagie too?"

Harry asked in disbelief.

"Of course. We didn't expect house-elves could be Secret Keepers either.

But Darren modified the spell

Their magic is different from ours, but they keep secrets incredibly well."

Bill said with a smile.

At that moment, Dean walked in.

Harry exclaimed, "You—"

He clearly remembered Dean had been captured.

"Oh, after you were taken, we managed to escape. On the way, I ran into Ginny, and she brought me here."

Dean said with a grin.

Ginny waved from behind him.

Harry and the others sighed in relief.

They had been worried about Dean.

"What about Darren? I heard he came too?"

Ginny searched anxiously.

Hermione said softly, "Remus used a Stunning Spell on him… Everyone was worried about him. Peter Pettigrew died… He's upset."

"But didn't Peter Pettigrew kill his parents?"

Ginny blurted out.

Harry nodded.

"Yes… but today, Peter Pettigrew saved Darren…"

He paused.

"I don't know why… someone like him… Darren is sad, but he won't say it.

We just let him sleep longer. He must have suffered a lot lately. Look at his eyes…"

Harry sighed.

At that moment, Darren decided it was time to wake up.

He shifted slightly.

Then slowly opened his eyes.

"Oh, Darren, you're awake already? That was fast."

Bill said with a smile.

Darren smiled faintly.

"My magic has grown stronger. My resistance to spells has increased too."

Then he looked at Harry.

Harry looked uneasy.

Darren spoke softly.

"Brother… do you have something to tell me?"

Harry hesitated.

He didn't want to tell Darren.

But it was important.

He couldn't hide it.

"We need to talk. Privately."

Darren immediately sat up.

Hermione guided him into a nearby room.

It was clean and empty.

Ginny stayed outside, not entering.

She watched Darren disappear from view.

Ron followed inside.

Harry didn't stop them.

He looked at Darren.

Then said quietly:

"The Dark Lord went to Nurmengard… Grindelwald is dead."

Darren froze.

His eyes reddened instantly.

He forced himself to remain composed.

He shook his head.

Then asked quickly, "What did the Dark Lord want?"

"He was forcing Grindelwald to reveal the location of the Elder Wand."

Darren's expression shifted.

Understanding dawned.

"The Elder Wand… I know what it really is!"

He suddenly said, "Brother, tell me everything that happened today. Don't leave anything out."

Harry quickly explained everything.

Hermione and Ron added details.

When they described Bellatrix's reaction upon seeing the Sword of Gryffindor—

Darren smiled faintly.

"I understand now. The Horcrux is in Bellatrix's vault.

She thought you stole it from there.

She may not know it's a Horcrux—but she knows it's important.

That's why she panicked."

Hermione and Ron both looked shocked.

"Break into Gringotts…"

They felt it sounded insane.

"We have no other choice," Darren said calmly.

"We can't delay anymore. Now that I've escaped, the Dark Lord will tighten the search.

Once he gets the Elder Wand, he may find a way to locate us.

We can't hide here forever."

"The Dark Lord will get the Elder Wand?" Hermione asked quietly.

"Then… where is it?"
