Chapter 42 - The Six Powers of the Navy! Ultra Instinct!

Having created Shun—and even several advanced forms of it— Naruto didn't stop there. He plunged headlong into further exploration of taijutsu, pushing the limits of the human body itself.

Moments later, a flash of inspiration struck him. He recalled another legendary combat art from a hot-blooded shōnen world— The Six Powers of the Navy!

A body technique capable of granting superhuman abilities— so formidable that even Devil Fruit users could not look down upon its practitioners.

Soru, Tekkai, Kami-e, Geppo, Rankyaku, Shigan— these were the six forms.

Once all were mastered, the user could surpass the very limits of human potential.

Soru — a step technique that creates explosive reaction force by stomping the ground dozens of times in an instant, propelling the body at extreme speed. To the enemy, the user appears to vanish.

Tekkai — by tensing one's entire body while reinforcing it with sheer power, the user hardens their body like steel. Even blades, bullets, and explosions cannot pierce it.

Kami-e — another defensive technique, but rather than resisting attacks, it evades them. By softening the body and sensing the flow of air around incoming strikes, the user bends and sways like paper, letting attacks pass harmlessly by.

Geppo — an advanced version of Soru. Like the "Cloud-Stepping" of wuxia tales, it allows one to step on air itself, soaring freely through the skies— though the technique cannot sustain long flight.

Rankyaku — a kicking art that unleashes supersonic vacuum blades, slicing through enemies from afar.

Shigan — the user focuses all their power into a single fingertip, striking with the force of a bullet.

You recall the fundamental principles and rigorous training of the Navy's Six Powers. You have achieved enlightenment!

You have mastered the Six Powers at their peak!

In that instant, Naruto felt as though he were a veteran Marine who had trained in these techniques for decades. In his hands, the Six Powers transcended mere martial skill— they had become weapons capable of destroying worlds.

Of course, the true might of the Six Powers depended on the user's physical strength— and with the Six Paths Sage Art constantly enhancing Naruto's body, his power continued to grow daily.

Perhaps, in the near future, even without chakra or jutsu, Naruto could annihilate mountains and shatter the heavens with the Six Powers alone.

Yet Naruto wasn't satisfied.

The Six Powers were merely a convenient foundation—a tool for warming up.

He knew there existed a divine art that stood at the pinnacle of physical mastery— a power that transcended gods themselves.

That art was—

Ultra Instinct! (Migatte no Gokui)

Unlike ordinary combat, which relies on sensing energy or predicting an opponent's moves, Ultra Instinct depends entirely on the body's autonomous reaction— every muscle responding instantly to danger without the need for conscious thought.

It eliminates the delay between perception and movement, allowing the body to act at the very limit of speed and precision.

By separating consciousness from bodily control, each cell perceives and responds independently.

To explain it simply—

A normal person might command only about 50% of their body's true power. A martial arts master could perhaps reach 70% or 80%, able to punch or dodge with lightning precision.

But Ultra Instinct— hailed as the Divine Art of the Gods, lies beyond even the reach of deities themselves.

It is not merely about surpassing limits— it is about erasing them.

With a body strong enough to rival the divine, one could unleash the power of gods with every movement.

As Vegeta once said in Dragon Ball:

"If you think before you move, your speed will always be limited. The time it takes for a signal to pass from your senses to your brain to your body— that time is your weakness. But if every part of your body can move on its own, you can dodge anything. "

Yet even the God of Destruction, Beerus, had not fully mastered this technique.

The higher the level of battle, the more fatal even a thousandth of a second's hesitation becomes.

Ultra Instinct eliminates that hesitation— and seizes the opponent's opening instead.

But such divine mastery comes with impossible difficulty.

Even the Gods of Destruction struggle to grasp it completely.

To train in Ultra Instinct, one must first reach a state of absolute serenity— a heart as still as ancient waters, unmoved by storm or fear.

To face disaster as if nothing had changed.

The mind must become one with nature— the body one with the cosmos.

Only then can the "Gate of Heavenly Unity" be opened.

Naruto, as he was now, had not yet crossed that threshold— but he could already see the light of that distant gate shimmering before him.

When his spirit finally attains oneness with heaven and earth— that will mark the moment he begins his journey into the realm of gods.

The thought alone sent shivers of excitement through his body.

Though he could not yet train in Ultra Instinct, Naruto's mind soon turned to another power— a way to strengthen his body and refine his martial art even further.

The Breathing Techniques!

Breathing— the most primal method of fortifying the body.

By mastering the rhythm of breath, humans could enhance heart and lung capacity, circulating oxygen more efficiently, and thus awakening latent strength.

If one could elevate even this basic human function to its limit, the result would be miraculous.

Naruto remembered the breathing styles from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

There, breathing was the key to granting humans the power to fight immortal demons.

Through specific breathing patterns, warriors could amplify their strength, endurance, and reaction speed, allowing them to battle monsters far beyond human capacity.

The very first of these styles was the Sun Breathing, created by the legendary swordsman Yoriichi Tsugikuni.

Later generations, unable to withstand the burning might of the Sun, derived five foundational forms from it— Water, Thunder, Flame, Stone, and Wind Breathing.

Countless other variations branched from those five.

Now— you recall those ancient breathing methods, merging them with your profound understanding of your own body.

You attain enlightenment!

You have created: Water Breathing, Thunder Breathing, Flame Breathing, Stone Breathing, and Wind Breathing!

Naruto inhaled deeply.

"Hssss—"

A vast surge of oxygen flooded his lungs. His heart pounded like an ancient drum of war—

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Each beat thundered with primal power.

He looked down at his arms— his muscles quivering not with tension, but with living energy.

It was as if raw, pure strength itself flowed through his veins.

With his current physical might, now enhanced by the Five Foundational Breathing Techniques, even Naruto himself could no longer fathom his own power.

For he had not yet unleashed the strongest breathing style of them all—
