Chapter 18 - The Choice

"Draw your sword, and you will regret it". I said to the messenger of the Murim, Take a stance to draw his sword.

The atmosphere is very tense. Especially when I arrived, I made a fuss by kicking a small chair for the guests.

There was no talk until A flat voice broke the tension.

"Enough," said the Sect Head calmly but firmly. Even without considering his strength, I felt truly overwhelmed by his voice.

Like confirming who the absolute ruler is in this room. "Forgive our students' rashness." Said the sect head to the messenger of the murim.

The conversation continued, but in the distance, another encounter occurred

___

In a small tea shop on the outskirts of the city. Bejo Bejan is sitting, waiting for someone to come.

A very luxurious, large horse-drawn carriage, bearing the symbol of the murim and accompanied by a few bodyguards, stopped right in front of the shop.

From the carriage door, a handsome man with glasses and a wheelchair came down. With her very warm smile, he slowly descended the carriage with his aide.

His name is Sengkuni. He was one of the strongest people in Murim. Some say that he is the strongest. Some say that he's strong because of her brilliant brain in setting strategies. Some say he is never aging. There are too many mysteries surrounding it to be told. But most importantly, he is on the side of justice.

"master!" Said Bejo Beja,n, welcoming the arrival of the murim advisor.

"I'm sorry, Master, because I didn't have the foam to welcome you properly," Bejo Bejan said as he poured the tea with both hands.

"I don't ask to be greeted luxuriously, I just want to see my students," said Sengkuni with a warm smile and a face that looked younger than Bejo Bejan. There are rumors that he is immortal. But rumors are still rumors. No one can deny or prove.

Bejo Bejan took out a piece of paper. "It's a development in the Azure Cloud sect where I serve and work." Said Bejo Bejan while handing it over with two hands.

Sengkuni read it. His expression didn't change, but his eyes said otherwise. The change was so fast that even Bejo Bejan didn't realize it.

"Bejo...." Said Sengkuni seriously. "If indeed the incident is the same as what is in this paper. You shouldn't interfere too much."

"Yes, master, disciple understands...."

The conversation between students and teachers continued as usual. However, for the first time, Sengkuni looked at the sky for a very long time from the window, and a smile appeared on his face. A smile full of mystery because his smile felt different to people who were always smiling.

--

Now, inside the sect leader's room, I was the only one stunned. Because the messenger of Murim had returned to the center of the Murim Alliance.

As usual, the sect leader always put on a warm face. But for some reason, I felt pressure when I was in front of him.

"Karman..." The sect leader said in a low voice.

"I-i just want to give that person a basic lesson and...." I cut off the sect leader's words.

"HAHA..." The sect leader laughed so loudly that it melted the atmosphere. "You're a fun kid. Just like my son said," she continued while wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes because of laughter.

"But Karman remembers this. This world is not just about power and influence. Sometimes we have to follow the flow and rules so that our lives are peaceful," continued the Sect Head with a slightly serious face, giving directions. "But how are you?"

"I'm fine, nothing has changed. My body is normal as usual. But I want to ask about one thing."

"Just say what you want to say."

"What if I kill Whute Tiger? Will you be angry? I mean, if I am expelled from the sect, please take care of Sugeng."

The sect leader was just silent. But from the look in his eyes, it was clear that he didn't look down on me or think I was weird at all.

"What level of understanding do you have about the golden body?" said the sect leader very seriously.

"I don't know, at first, I could only hold it for 30 seconds. Dan sekarang"I don't know, at first, I could only hold it for 30 seconds. However, I'm not sure; I've never used it to the limit."

"Now it's clear. You should see Elder Hartono immediately."

"Okay, I'm asking for permission to come back."

The sect head let me go out, his eyes following me and looking in the distant direction. I don't know what the sect leader's vague and hanging words mean.

---

I then made my way to Elder Hartono's residence at the peak of Mount Bromo. But, halfway there...

"Karmaaannnn!" Tono shouted from a distance. Gasping for breath, he continued. "This is serious, Karman, it's urgent!"

"Just tell me. Who is bothering you?"

"It's n-not that.... I mean, it's Bi Ijah," Tono continued, his breathing still uneven.

"What's happened to Bi Ijah?"

"She's looking for you.... She wants you to come and eat."

I just maintained a flat expression. In the past, I couldn't live without Bi Ijah. But now, if I want to eat, I can eat beast meat. Besides, it doesn't taste bad.

"Come on, Karman.... Please. Bi Ijah said if I can't bring you, I won't get my food ration for tomorrow."

"Alright, let's go."

We arrived at the canteen. Putri and Bonar were already sitting and had saved seats for us. I went straight to see Bi Ijah.

"Karman.... you've finally com...." Bi Ijah stopped mid-sentence. She looked at me again. As if she were seeing something frightening.

"What is it, Bi Ijah?... I mean, I'd like to eat," I said.

"Hey!!!!!! Who are you? You're not Karman! What have you done with the real Karman? Tell me!" said Bi Ijah, brandishing her soup ladle.

"I am Karman! Look," I said, pointing to the portion of food enough for a week's meals.

Instantly, Bi Ijah's expression changed. "You really are Karman! Eat as much as you like! It's on the house for you today," said Bi Ijah, overjoyed to see me back.

I ate as usual, with Tono, Putri, and Bonar. Unnoticed, the day had grown late, approaching evening.

---

"This disciple is facing the Master!" I roared from outside Elder Hartono's residence.

Elder Hartono came out calmly, opened the door for me, and told me to come in.

"You stupid disciple, why don't you go straight to your master to get up?" Elder Hartono said as he turned his back to me.

"I'm sorry, I'm just asking permission from the Sect Leader."

"What permission?"

"To kill White Tiger."

"What????"

Elder Hartono's expression instantly hardened, like keeping something deep and secret.
