Chapter 10 Let's Get Married

Lin Cong's voice made everyone turn around at the same time. The oppressive feeling made him instantly cower, but his mother was not. She shouted, "Referee! I'm reporting him! There's definitely something wrong with the vehicle!!"

The combined attack of the mother and son made Wu Shi sigh. Why bother?

"Referee, you may conduct a compliance inspection of my vehicle," he said calmly.

Lin Cong and his mother's expressions changed. Seeing Wu Shi's calm and composed demeanor, they knew that the race was definitely going to be fine.

The referee nodded and first sent Wu Shi to be weighed before weighing the race car.

The result is obvious.

"Car number 307 is in perfect condition and meets all standards. Driver Wu Shi has been inspected and no abnormalities were found. The complaint is unfounded," the referee announced.

The people who had just been chatting with Lin Cong and his mother all moved away when they saw this. It was too despicable to report someone just because they couldn't outrun them.

Immediately afterwards, the referee announced to the crowd: "The arbitration committee's investigation results on driver number 315: there was deliberate obstruction, a fine of 2,000 yuan, a suspension from this race, and a warning marked on the race record."

Upon hearing the results announced, Wu Shi's expression changed. This was different from the competition rules he remembered. He suddenly realized something and knew he would have to check the internet after the competition.

Upon hearing this result, parent number 315 immediately looked at Lin Cong's parent, issuing a warning regarding the racing license! This means that if any further problems arise, the parent could face a one-year ban from racing due to the license being revoked!

Lin Cong's mother avoided eye contact and remained silent.

Mr. Chen was a shrewd man. Seeing the situation, he had a guess in his mind, but he didn't say anything to the referee. Instead, he patted Wu Shi and said, "Take a short rest and try to win the final!"

"Yes, I understand."

While waiting, other groups held their preliminary and final rounds, but unfortunately, the karting was ultimately not very entertaining, or rather, the spectator appeal of track racing isn't always there.

Even F1 races can be quite boring at times, with all you see for the entire race being cars whizzing by.

This makes some viewers quite hopeful for some kind of accident, or for several equally competitive drivers to compete on the same track, otherwise they really think, "What's so interesting about F1? It's just a few cars running laps, isn't it?"

While waiting, the sky over Shenzhen darkened, and it looked like it was going to rain.

"Wu Shi, how did your run go in the rain?" Martina asked.

"It's alright." Wu Shi recalled his past life, where he almost made it to the podium in his first game as a rookie because of the rain. This should be alright, right?

"Haha, if you say it's alright, then it's quite good." Martina laughed. In her opinion, Wu Shi was humble at heart and not competitive. This seemed like a good trait, but it was unacceptable on the field.

However, Wu Shi's powerful ability to eliminate the five-second penalty time made her realize that his extreme running style showed that he still had a strong desire to win.

A successful driver should be focused on victory, not on so-called humility.

According to the competition rules, the top eleven drivers in the preliminaries and finals advance to the finals, so the finals looked much cleaner than the preliminaries and finals.

The gloomy sky ultimately failed to bring rain, and the NCJ-A Group finals began on time.

Having witnessed Wu Shi's exceptional abilities in the preliminary and final rounds, Zeng Tianyi's fighting spirit had already weakened.

Ling Kang, on the other hand, was in third place, and his opponents were Zeng Tianyi and Wu Shi, so he was full of fighting spirit!

After two laps, the green flag was waved, and the final race officially began.

When the race reached the third lap, Wu Zhenlin rushed over and asked Martina, "How is it?"

"Absolutely amazing! His talent, ability, and mentality make him a standout among the new generation. If he follows my plans, it's not impossible for him to become an F1 driver," Martina said.

"What? Your plan?" Wu Zhenlin was completely bewildered.

"Yes, Zhenlin, I was just about to ask you to let Wu Shi develop his career in Europe. Staying in China will only be a burden to him," Martina said seriously.

"No way!" Wu Zhenlin shook his head without even thinking.

"Why? You should know that the country currently cannot provide him with better opportunities for development. Coaches, technicians, and competitions cannot match his talent and progress!" Martina retorted.

"No, I can't go right now. You said it takes a lot of money to become a professional racer, and I..."

Wu Zhenlin shook his head. He didn't want his child to travel alone to the ocean at such a young age, but he couldn't quit his job to accompany his child, since racing cars cost money!

In just two months, he has already spent nearly 70,000 yuan, which is quite alarming.

If he hadn't held a high position in the group, earned a good salary, and had considerable savings, he wouldn't have been able to support his son's go-karting career.

After a moment of silence, Martina said, "Zhenlin, let's get married."

"What?" Wu Zhenlin was taken aback.

"If you're worried about Wu Shi, then let me, his mother, accompany him," Martina said.

"I... well, but..." Wu Zhenlin was speechless for a moment, but finally shook his head and said, "Can Wu Shi travel around China for a year? How about next year?"

"Hmm?" Martina asked, puzzled.

"I'll try to be sent abroad next year so we can go together. I don't want Wu Shi to be without his father by his side." Wu Zhenlin looked at Louise.

Martina nodded. She understood what Wu Zhenlin meant. Even when she went on business trips, she would take Louise with her. Was it because she had no relatives to stay with back home? No, it was just that a mother didn't want to miss out on her child's childhood.

Children who have their parents' company and children whose parents don't have time to be with them will ultimately develop their personalities in completely different directions as they grow up.

"Okay, you've convinced me. How about marriage?" Martina raised an eyebrow.

"It is my honor, Ms. Martina." As soon as the topic of his son was no longer being discussed, Wu Zhenlin instantly transformed into a gentlemanly elite, bowing slightly and extending his right hand in a standard manner.

"Pfft!" Martina laughed happily.

"Hey! What are you doing!" Louise exclaimed, realizing what was happening.

"Oh, I almost forgot little Louise is right here." Martina looked at her daughter in surprise.

"Mommy!" Louise puffed out her cheeks.

"Uncle Wu just proposed to Mom, Louise. You don't object, do you?"

Martina looked at her daughter expectantly. Although she had tested her daughter with a joke yesterday, bringing it up formally like this still made her a little worried about her daughter's reaction.

Most children don't like having a stepfather or stepmother, and Louise was no exception. Although Uncle Wu was very kind, humble, and doted on her, she still felt repulsed by him.

"Oh dear~ Wu Shi won!" Martina said with a smile.

"Hey! So fast?!" Louise was leaning on the railing when she saw Wu Shi's go-kart speeding across the race line under the checkered flag.

"Yay! We won!" she cheered.

Martina gave Wu Zhenlin a helpless look, while Louise still seemed somewhat disagreeing.

"It's okay, take your time."

Wu Zhenlin smiled gently. Compared to the last time he tested her, Louise's reaction this time was quite calm, and she no longer seemed to be firmly against it.

Two and a half British flags, hahaha~

The Great Displacement of Marco is also interesting.
