As she inched ever so closer to me, she eventually spotted the obvious.
You seem unaffected by my charms, human~?
Do you swing the other way...?
She glanced down at me, then let out a chuckle.
No... It appears you don't. You just have a very high tolerance to womanly charms. I respect it~
"..."
Well, that's a little embarrassing.
I guess I'm not that immune after all.
"You're the Siren Queen, Clementine Noir, right? It's nice to meet you."
She let out a chuckle.
I had hoped I could talk to her.
But when I felt energy gathering in her heart, I knew that wouldn't be possible.
Her first Gift was Charm.
It was plain, but combined with her singing, she could charm anyone with just her voice.
Then her second Gift...
Soul Weapon.
I stared at a pale green outline just behind her as it extended out of her back and then floated around her.
It was a pale green scythe.
Her chosen Soul Weapon.
She could create thousands more, but since she wasn't in control of herself, she could only summon one.
But even then, getting hit by something like this was dangerous.
Just one hit, and she would injure my soul.
And healing a soul injury... There weren't that many artifacts in the world that could do that.
But just then, two more Soul Weapons appeared behind her.
A sword and a spear.
Oh.
Well, I'm a little fucked.
Young lamb of the human race, be honored you are the first to witness the descent of the Siren Queen.
The moment those words passed through my ears, I exploded back with my Telekinesis, just barely managing to dodge the scythe and spear from piercing straight through me.
But then there was also the sword I had to deal with.
I created a telekinetic barrier, but it was pierced in an instant, leaving me no choice but to blast back again.
One exchange, and I was already on my toes.
Crack
The ice under my feet cracked slightly.
Only then did I realize that the moment she slashed her sword, her slash tore through the ice, creating a massive gash that spread out hundreds of meters behind me.
She was holding back.
And she was also toying with me.
"..."
Three weapons or one, that didn't change anything.
I knew the attack pattern of every single weapon she could ever use against me.
So now I just needed to buy time until she regained her senses.
We exchanged a glance, and then she dashed at me.
She was incredibly fast.
But I was ready.
Clementine attacked me relentlessly, and I managed to dodge every attack by the skin of my teeth.
I was getting adjusted to her tempo very quickly.
The ice beneath my feet finally cracked, and a torrent burst upward from the ocean.
As it spun around, several pieces of junk flew my way.
Sending them away with my Telekinesis, I quickly turned back toward Clementine.
But by then, she was already above me.
She stomped her foot down, prepared to crush me.
I didn't dodge.
Instead, I grabbed her foot and sent a jolt of lightning through her entire body.
Her Gift flickered, and the spear disappeared.
As she stared down at me with widened eyes, I soon felt her energy increase.
I might or might not have just made her mad.
Whoopsies.
She kicked off my forearm, and while still in the sky, sent hundreds of slashes with her sword that sent out green arcs toward me.
The bullet hell phase.
Fuck this phase.
Covering my entire body in Telekinesis and boosting myself with Lightning, I began to move like a madman.
Slash after slash, and then I also had to deal with her scythe, which went for my neck every chance it got.
Honestly...
How could anyone beat this woman?
How was the main character supposed to deal with this if I hadn't been here?
She would've killed him in a single slash.
Shaking my head, I continued to dodge.
The surroundings got even more chaotic as the minutes passed.
The ice had thawed a while ago, and now there were hundreds of torrents.
Debris and fish came flying my way.
There were even some deadly sharks that I narrowly avoided.
But then all of that abruptly stopped.
The water torrents receded, and in the end, Clementine simply hovered in the air with her two weapons around her.
At a glance, it seemed like she snapped out of it.
But in reality, she was about to enter her second phase.
Her black eyes glowed for a moment.
Then her two weapons sank back into her body.
A faint, almost invisible pale green glow surrounded her, making my body stiffen.
She smiled at me and then closed her eyes.
I prepared myself.
This phase here was why my odds of winning were so low.
I just hoped all my years of grinding this game would not be wasted here.
A few seconds passed in silence.
Just then, Clementine opened her eyes.
The sky turned pitch black, and the sea vanished completely.
I was not in the same place as before.
Now I was inside her soul domain.
This was one of the most overpowered Gifts in the entire game, as she was a literal god in this domain.
It drained a lot of energy... but since she was berserk, she had a lot of energy to spare.
I created tens of telekinetic barriers around me.
I even tried to shock her brain to get rid of the mind control from the ritual.
But she didn't even react this time.
Instead, she stared down at me with an all-powerful gaze.
Then she slowly raised her left arm.
Thousands of pale green weapons appeared in the sky, resembling an aurora.
Then she raised her other arm.
Tsunamis of impossible sizes appeared all around me.
Upon closer look though, I saw that those tsunamis were actually just her weapons.
Everything here was real.
Although it all looked so surreal, none of these were illusions.
If I was hit, I would die.
It looked way easier in the game.
Honestly, I was beginning to doubt myself.
But it was already too late.
If I wanted to live in this world like a coward, I could've just run away from it all.
But I didn't.
And I'm not planning on doing that any time soon.
I met Clementine's gaze with confidence.
A flash of surprise passed through her eyes.
And after a brief moment of silence, Clementine finally lowered both her arms, sending thousands of swords hurtling from the sky and the tsunamis crashing right at me.
