A/N: Clementine's new fit:
***
"Ta-da~"
I stepped back and admired my work.
Clementine was unrecognizable.
If she was a total drop dead gorgeous beauty earlier, she was like a typical commoner saint now.
She wore a simple brown coat, and coincidentally, I also had a brown wig, so I gave it to her.
...She finally looked like any ordinary girl.
"Was all of this necessary?"
Clementine inspected her clothes and pouted slightly.
"These clothes make me look like I'm some country bumpkin."
She knew what a country bumpkin was?
No, besides that...
"Do you want to flaunt around that you're the Siren Queen inside an enemy kingdom?" I asked, then wagged my finger at her. "No you don't. You lack a bit of common sense, but I promise that I'll teach you."
She groaned slightly.
"Fine..."
"But, why do you have so many women's clothes in your dimensional ring? Do you—"
"My business partner probably played a prank on me," I cut her off before she could get any funny ideas. "Don't worry about it now though. Are you all set?"
She stared at me for a moment, then nodded.
With that, I put on some normal clothes and right after, the two of us left the cave.
She wanted to walk to the kingdom, but after I told her how far it was and insisted that I flew us there, she reluctantly agreed.
The journey, even while going at full speed, took us nearly four hours.
By then, the sun had started to go down.
It worked in our favor.
Soon enough, I saw a few villages below us, and then a massive cobblestone pathway leading toward a large city in the distance.
This pathway was equivalent to a highway in my old world.
But that wasn't the only pathway, as the Heirloom Kingdom had four pathways going in every cardinal direction.
They were connected to most minor cities, villages and towns.
It really was a bustling kingdom.
Though aside from the dwarf and a few side quests, I didn't visit it much in the game.
But I knew there were a few powerful people here, and I wanted to befriend one person in particular.
The leader of the assassin's guild.
Johan Ranvier.
Before dying, he dealt a very big blow to the demons in my final playthrough.
But... until the end, he was underutilized.
Not now though.
Eventually, the two of us landed not too far away from the main checkpoint of the southern gate.
Since it was so dark, the guards likely didn't see us.
"Clementine, let me do the talking."
"Okay."
Both of us started walking along the highway, and finally reached the southern checkpoint.
Two guards spotted us.
They had black bags under their eyes, and they looked very tired.
Grumbling, they played rock paper scissors, and after the guard on the right lost, he stomped toward us and glared fiercely.
"Show me your travel permit, merchant's license, or your badge showing me that you live here."
Of course, I had none of that.
But what I did have was money.
Alongside a bottle of fine whiskey, I pulled out two gold coins.
The guard's eyes widened, and he immediately stashed my generous donation away.
No matter which part of the world I was, or in what universe...
Money was king.
"Kuhuh... You're free to go inside. Find an inn and sleep, since the nights tend to be a little dangerous."
I smiled, and after gently grabbing Clementine's hand, the two of us passed the checkpoint and finally entered the city.
Since the main road was usually patrolled by guards, I led us into an alleyway, then finally let go of her hand.
"We should be fine here," I said with a sigh.
She was surprisingly quiet.
When I turned around, I noticed she seemed to be in thought.
"Do you have something on your mind?"
She finally looked up at me.
"Is that usually how you handle conflicts?"
"Not really. I usually talk it out or fight it out."
Chuckling, I added, "I only resort to money when I feel like talking or fighting wouldn't work."
Clementine just stared at me.
"I see..."
I didn't really get why she asked all of this.
But then again, she didn't have that much common knowledge.
"Whenever you have a question like this, don't hesitate to ask," I said. "I'll answer everything honestly."
A slightly surprised look appeared on her face, and then she nodded at me, not saying another word.
Noticing that her wig was slightly off and her crimson hair was showing, I quickly adjusted it as well as her glasses.
After that, I went on ahead.
But only after a few seconds did I realize Clementine hadn't moved from her spot.
I thought something was wrong, however, when I came back, I realized she had her arm extended slightly.
"..."
She was really innocent.
But sometimes, she was strangely assertive.
I inwardly let out a sigh, and then grabbed her hand.
She finally followed without complaints, and just like that, the two of us headed deeper into the city.
If I recalled correctly, the dwarf I was looking for had a decently bustling shop near the slums.
The Iron Hammer.
The dwarf was a little perverted, so he wasn't talking about his crafting hammer either.
Shaking my head, Clementine and I looked around carefully, while also dodging several guards.
And eventually, we found it.
The door was slightly open, and a bit of light escaped from inside.
Since the dwarf was money hungry, he worked all day and night.
But in reality, his Gift let him complete any crafting process in less than a minute.
So for the most part, he worked five minutes per day, and then slept for the remainder.
Though that didn't mean he was any less reputable.
"This old dwarf is very eccentric," I said. "Don't get spooked by him, and if he tries something funny, whack him over the head."
"Eccentric?"
"Perverted."
"Oh..."
When she nodded, I took a deep breath, and finally, the two of us stepped inside The Iron Hammer smithy.
There were dozens of weapons and armor sets displayed all around.
They were all very high quality.
The smithy was also pretty well maintained, and as for the dwarf of the hour...
SNOREEEEEEE
He was asleep, with his feet kicked up on the counter.
"Amon..." Clementine whispered. "Are you sure you got the right place?"
Sadly, yes.
I cleared my throat and coughed a few times.
The gray haired and bearded dwarf woke up immediately.
Despite his disheveled appearance, he immediately put on a professional expression.
"Heya folks. What can I get ya?"
"I want to request a special commission," I said.
The dwarf shook his head.
"I only do something so tiresome for the nobles. The pair of ye don't look like no nobles to me."
I smiled at the dwarf, and then took out five platinum bars from my dimensional ring, and plopped them down onto the counter.
"Would this suffice?"
"..."
The dwarf rubbed his temples.
"Brat, you coulda just started with that."
