Chapter 46 - A Stupid Weapon And ???

"So what do you want done?" the dwarf asked.

Using Telekinesis, I closed the door behind us, and then I pulled out the massive chunk of Clorafite, causing the dwarf's entire body to stiffen.

"Where in the hell did you get your hands on something like this?"

I smiled.

"Is that important?"

The dwarf grumbled, then shook his head.

"Doesn't matter. Just tell me what you want done. I'll... I'll try to make it."

I was really glad I went to this guy.

He didn't ask too many questions, and although he was a little twisted, his weapons were just overpowered.

Aside from that, I thought about what I wanted to have him make.

And while flying over there, I had actually written it down.

Reaching into my dimensional ring, I pulled out a piece of paper and handed it over to the dwarf.

He glanced at me with a puzzled look.

But when he spotted Clementine right beside me, he chuckled in understanding.

He gave the note a quick look and tilted his head.

"You want something like a bunch of thin diamond-shaped plates of Clorafite? The design is interesting, and they all interconnect... You sure you don't want an actual weapon made out of this stuff?"

I shook my head.

"It's enough. Make me around 100 plates if possible."

The dwarf stared at me, then shrugged.

"Sure, brat. And about the other thing...?"

We exchanged a quick glance.

The dwarf understood what I had in mind.

So he just nodded again and placed his hand on the Clorafite.

"There'll be plenty left over. What do you want to do with it?"

Hah.

This weasel expects me to give this big of a chunk to him?

Of course not.

"I'll take it back with me."

"Tsk... Fine. This'll take a while. I'd say... a month? No, a year. See you in a year."

Just as the idiot dwarf was about to walk away, I grabbed him by the scruff.

"Don't waste our time and make it now."

"Huh? Make all that now? Just who do you think I am?"

"Rigurd the third, son of the legendary dwarven blacksmith, Rigurd the second. You have a Gift that allows you to instantly create a blueprint of anything you imagine. Then, as long as you have the materials, you can instantly craft that item."

Rigurd looked at me as though I had recited his social security number in Times Square.

Simply put, he tried to kick off and head for his weapon, but I grabbed him with Telekinesis this time.

I sent a quick jolt of lightning through his body, making him fix his attitude immediately.

"Brat! Just who in the hell are you, huh!? Not even my father knows my Gift!"

I just smiled at him, then bonked him over the head.

"Less questions, more work. I paid you handsomely, so go do your job."

We glared at each other for a few seconds.

Finally, Rigurd decided to stop fighting it, and instead, he stored the Clorafite inside his own dimensional ring.

"Give me ten minutes. I'll draft something up."

He was serious.

About damn time.

"We'll wait right here then."

We nodded at each other, and while Rigurd went into the back room, Clementine and I sat down right by the door.

"I saw there was something else written there," she said.

I hummed. "Don't worry about it."

"...Is it something I shouldn't know about?"

"Not yet."

She glanced down with a slightly glum look.

I thought she would've suspected it was a gift for her.

Instead, it looked like she didn't really understand it.

Sighing, I placed a hand on her head and began patting it.

Although she still looked downcast, I saw a faint smile on her face.

Just like that, the ten minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

Rigurd finally stepped out with two sacks.

He tossed one at me.

"There's the leftover Clorafite."

Then he tossed the other.

"Here are your weird plates. If you merge them together with your Telekinesis or whatever, they shouldn't have any gaps. The defense is top-notch, and the diamond-shaped tips are sharp enough to be used offensively too."

I caught both the bags, and stored them immediately.

"As expected of the son of the legendary dwarven blacksmith. I'm sure I'll visit your smithy again very soon."

He just gave me the side-eye, and after a bit, he pulled a small box out of his back pocket and placed it on the desk beside him.

"Here's the other thing. Take it and buzz off, the both of you."

Having said that, he scoffed and sat back down behind the desk.

He propped his feet up, and within seconds, loud snoring resounded.

I was in disbelief at how fast he could fall asleep.

Still, I inwardly thanked Rigurd and grabbed the small box before finally walking out alongside Clementine.

Taking a few turns here and there, we eventually stopped in a closed-off alleyway.

It was dark, and the only source of light was the moon above us.

The atmosphere was way more romantic than I had intended it to be.

Still, I sucked up my nervousness and let go of her hand.

I then turned around to face the confused Clementine before reaching for the box in my pocket and opening it.

Inside the box was a wavy golden hairpin.

There were some engravings etched into it, such as musical notes and even some dolphins and mermaid tails.

Corny as it might be, the moment Clementine saw it, her eyes widened as she took a single step back.

"Is that for me...?"

"Mhm. I thought of getting you a gift, but I wasn't sure what you'd like. I hope a hairpin is fine."

I really did hope it was fine.

Her silence didn't tell me much.

Her expression was also much more firm and unreadable than before.

For once, I had nothing to go off on.

But just then, she took off her wig and turned around.

Her slightly curly crimson hair flowed downward.

I could see the tips of her ears, and they were beet red.

"V-Very well. I'll allow you to put that hairpin in my hair."

Tsundere?

The longer I waited, the more impatient she got.

So eventually, I just stepped up and clipped the hairpin on the left side of her hair.

As I tiptoed around her, I admired how beautiful she looked and how perfectly the hairpin suited her.

But more importantly, she seemed happy with the hairpin.

"It suits you perfectly, and I'm glad you like it."

She smiled at me, and then grabbed my hand, interlocking her fingers with mine.

I was slightly caught off guard.

"Where are we going now, Amon?"

Now...

Right.

I haven't finished all I wanted to do here.

"We'll be paying a visit to the assassin's guild."
