Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Bonds of the Neck… and Kisses on the Neck…

On the tennis court, Rias Gremory and Sona Sitri—two high-class devils—stood facing each other, their eyes locked, brimming with fighting spirit.

Outside the fence, Ryuya could only give a dry laugh.

So this was what they meant by a "duel"? A tennis match?

Seriously, using a devil's physical strength to play a human sport—wasn't that kind of cheating?

The match was set as a doubles game. Sona's partner was her vice president, Tsubaki Shinra, while Rias's natural choice was Akeno Himejima.

All four had already changed into athletic wear—short skirts and tight tops that accentuated every curve. Needless to say, the sight was enough to dazzle any onlooker.

As soon as the four of them stepped onto the court, passersby couldn't help but stop and stare. Before long, the news that "the campus beauties were playing tennis" spread through Kuoh Academy like wildfire.

After all, the three officially recognized goddesses of Kuoh—Rias, Akeno, and Sona—were all here. And even the vice president, Tsubaki Shinra, was gorgeous in her own right.

So even before the match began, a crowd had already gathered, all eager for a glimpse of the school's top beauties in action.

Ryuya couldn't help pressing a hand to his forehead.

"This is… way too high-profile…"

Beside him, Koneko Toujou overheard his muttering and stifled a laugh.

She knew Ryuya disliked unnecessary attention. He usually kept a pretty low profile.

On the court, Rias picked up the ball and smiled.

"Let's begin, Sona."

"Come, Rias."

Their gazes burned with the thrill of battle. With Rias's serve, the so-called duel began.

Their tennis skills were nothing short of professional-level—and with their devil physiques, their movements far outclassed any human athlete.

From the very first serve, the rally was so intense that it instantly electrified the crowd.

"Ahhh! President-sama, you're so cool!!"

"Go, Rias-onee-sama! Go, Akeno-onee-sama!!"

Cheers erupted as the four beauties dominated the court, their elegance and intensity overwhelming both male and female spectators alike.

As the match heated up, the audience's excitement reached fever pitch—half from the game, half from the view.

Koneko observed quietly, then murmured to Ryuya,

"This way, they can't use magic."

"…Wait, they were planning to use magic?" Ryuya groaned weakly.

But before he finished speaking, Sona suddenly infused her tennis ball with demonic power. The ball's trajectory twisted midair, spinning unpredictably.

The crowd gasped in amazement.

"Wahh! It's the President's Magic Ball! Amazing!!"

Koneko was momentarily speechless.

That was literally magic, but the audience just thought it was a fancy move.

Ryuya was at a total loss for words.

Their demonic physiques were already unfair enough—and now they were actually using magic too?!

Would it kill them to respect the concept of fair play in sports for once…?

If this ever got out, he could already see the headlines:

> "Kuoh Academy's Unranked Girls' Tennis Team Obliterates Japan's National Squad!"

Sighing, Ryuya turned away just as Saji—one of Sona's peerage members—spoke proudly beside him.

"Our President and Vice President will definitely win. Don't you agree?"

Ryuya tilted his head. Normally, he wouldn't care who won or lost—but since Rias was involved, he couldn't just let them have the upper hand.

He answered casually,

"I believe in Rias and Akeno. There's no way they'd lose to your President."

"Oh? We'll see about that."

Saji chuckled smugly—then raised an eyebrow in realization.

Wait… did that guy just call her Rias by name?

Wasn't he supposed to be her servant?

Just how close were those two, exactly…?

He couldn't help imagining—what if someday, he could be that close with President Sona?

He pictured it vividly: himself and Sona, wrapped in each other's arms, their relationship as sweet as it was forbidden—

Heheheh…

Driven by curiosity, he couldn't help but edge closer to Ryuya's side.

"Uh, hey, Ryuya bro," Saji began, leaning in conspiratorially. "You and your master seem… pretty close, huh?"

"It's alright," Ryuya replied calmly with a nod.

"'Alright'? That's it? You literally call Lady Rias by her name!"

Saji nudged him in the ribs with his elbow, eyes sparkling with desperation. "C'mon, tell me—how did you do that?!"

Ryuya blinked, looking mildly confused.

"…Call her by name? Is that really such a big deal?"

"Of course it is!" the Pawn exclaimed, face full of envy. "She's your master! How did you get that close to her? Please, I'm begging you, teach me your ways!"

Ryuya tilted his head thoughtfully, then spoke in a slow, almost wistful tone:

"I'd say Rias and I… are about at the neck-kissing stage."

"Huh? What did you say? Maybe I misheard..." Saji asked, mishearing the phrase.

Ryuya said clearly, "I said neck. kissing. stage."

Saji: "...??"

He stared blankly for two seconds—then his eyes went wide as realization hit him like lightning.

Holy—!

HOLY HELL!

He looked at Ryuya as if beholding a divine being.

"N-Neck… neck-kissing?! W-Wait! You mean what I think you mean, right?! RIGHT?!"

Ryuya just looked at him calmly.

Why was this guy getting so worked up?

"I said we're almost at that stage," he added lightly.

Meaning: the neck had been kissed, but nothing beyond that yet.

After all, that had just happened this morning.

"Th-that's already incredible!!"

Saji was practically trembling with excitement. Suddenly, he bent down in a perfect ninety-degree bow.

"MASTER!!!"

"...???"

Was he… talking to me?

Ryuya gave him a deadpan stare, completely speechless.

"…Who even are you?"

"Master! Please, let this humble disciple learn your ways of seduction!!"

"…Get lost."

"MASTER!!"

"Go die," Ryuya muttered darkly, stepping aside to avoid Saji's overly dramatic attempts to grab him.

Off to the side, Koneko watched the two with a puzzled look.

How had these two suddenly become friends?

Men's friendships really were incomprehensible…

While Ryuya was being hounded by his self-proclaimed "disciple," the battle on the tennis court had reached apocalyptic levels. Magic-enhanced serves, explosive volleys—everything was utter chaos.

By the end, every racket had snapped in half, yet the score still remained even.

That was when Saji suddenly ran up to Sona, shouting with enthusiasm,

"President! I've decided I can skip catching my familiar for now! Please, give my slot to my master instead!!"

Sona blinked, utterly confused. "...What?"

Even Rias and the others turned to stare blankly at Ryuya.

"…Master?"

"..."
