SANCHO'S POV
My mind was still spinning as I stepped out of Selena's room. Thoughts rushed through my head again and again, each one louder than the last. Selena, my last child, was the light of my life. I had promised myself that I would always protect my family, and tonight that promise felt heavier than ever.
I entered my room and closed the door behind me. I leaned on it for a moment to steady my breathing. Then I picked up my phone and dialed a number I knew too well. The call connected after a few rings.
"Alpha Magnus," I said quietly. "It has begun."
"Sancho," Magnus replied. His voice was calm, but I could hear his worry under it. "Tell me what happened."
"Someone was in my house," I said. "They were inside Selena's room. I don't know what they wanted because nothing seems to be missing. The scent was faint but clear. I cannot tell if they shifted to escape or if they used another trick, but they left no clear trace inside."
