World of The Barrierborn Saga
THE SPECIES OF THE WORLD:
The world is divided into five main species:
1. Fae : graceful and powerful beings tied to nature and light. Their magic flows through song, emotion, and the breath of life itself.
2. Humans : resourceful, intelligent, and ever-adapting. Though they possess no magic of their own, their willpower and ingenuity make them strong.
3. Gyents : towering, giants ancient creatures born of stone and storm. Once protectors, now feared destroyers.
4. Abeantons (Mages) : humans born with the gift of magic, their blood infused with the remnants of old spells.
5. Benders (Elementals) : descendants of those who once communed with nature's core. They can bend fire, water, earth, and air.
CONTINENTS
The known world consists of three great continents:
1. Baragan : the southern continent, home to the Fae and Benders (Elementals). Its lands bloom with silver forests, glowing rivers, and shifting sands that sing with wind magic.
2. Caraseana : the western continent, shared by Humans and Abeantons (Mages). It is a land of cities, academies, and kingdoms where invention and sorcery walk hand in hand.
3. The Forsaken North : a frozen, ruined land sealed by an ancient barrier. It was once the realm of the Gyents, creatures so large they could crush mountains and walk through storms.

They speak the Human language in daily life but use the ancient A'theric Tongue when casting spells. The A'theric language is a forgotten tongue of power; each word carries emotion, will, and force.
Benders (Elementals)
They practice a democratic rule, but only ancient, powerful families known as the Rooted Houses are allowed to compete in politics.
A ruler can reign indefinitely, as long as they continue to earn the people's vote every ten years.
Benders have no native language; their ancestral tongue was lost ages ago. Because they often trade and study with others, most learn both Human and Fae languages, speaking them with a distinctive accent that mixes the two.
Humans
Governed by democracy, divided into nations with elected councils and city-states. Though they lack magic, their lands thrive through science, craftsmanship, and discovery. Human inventors are known to rival even the Mages in influence.
Gyents
Once protectors of the world's balance, the Gyents became its greatest terror. They are now divided into two races, each ruled by its own leader, but united under a single King.
