Nari rubbed her hands together as she gazed upon the obsidian sky. Her eyes lubricated by tears as she gazed upon the stars.
When will it end?
She couldn't help but think to herself. She has seen firsthand how this war has robbed people of hope. Robbed people from their loved ones. However, under that guise she was thankful. She was thankful that she still had hers.
Wiping her tears, she trekked through the snow to the direction of the small cabin that her and her family resided. Opening the door, she was greeted to the homey aroma of vanilla bean and a fresh scent of apple pie in the oven. Nari smiled in content. Her twin sister, Iseul runs into her engulfing her into a bear hug.
"Nari! Where were you?" Iseul asked in a fret. Iseul was the oldest between the two and often worried about Nari. Nari could be aloof at times.
"I was by the pier looking at the stars," Nari responded as she peeled her sister off of her. Nari disliked when Iseul acted like she was her mom. She wasn't a little girl anymore.
"You didn't say anything. You left without saying anything, what if something had happen?!" Iseul slightly shouted with a crack in her voice. Nari sighed before wrapping her arms around Iseul.
"I'm sorry seul. I won't do that again," Nari whispered softly as she rubbed her sister's back.
"Keep your word." Iseul responded as she gripped Nari's winter coat. After reconciling, Nari and Iseul walked into the kitchen where their mother, Eunha was finishing her baked goods. Seeing her girls, Eunha smiled softly and open her arms for the both of them. Enthusiastically, they jumped into her arms. Their laughs and giggles echoing throughout the cabin.
"What's so funny?" Their dad, Ji-u said with a smile as he leaned against the doorway. Nari leaves her mother's grasps and runs straight into her dad's arms giggling as he lift her and spins her around.
