Hello everyone.
So… for the next part of the story—the one that was supposed to cover the death of Killer B or, more accurately, the capture of Killer B and the death of the Fourth Raikage—I've been struggling a lot.
I tried writing this section for five or six hours straight. I drafted and changed it more than a dozen times, but nothing felt right.
My original plan was simple:
Two weeks after the third round of the Chūnin Exams—about seven days before the fourth round—Raikage A and Killer B would be ambushed by two Akatsuki members. I initially chose Hidan and Kakuzu. The idea was that all four would fight, Akira would hide and let them weaken each other, and eventually two of them (one from each side) would die. Akira would then finish off the remaining two with his Mangekyō and Sage mode., preventing the Hidden Cloud from declaring the Fourth Great Ninja War.
But when I actually sat down to write the fight, I realized something:
The Immortal Duo were far too weak to take on Raikage A and Killer B.
After asking for suggestions, someone mentioned Orochimaru and Kisame, and I agreed—they're much more capable opponents. I rewrote the entire scene with those two instead, even including Orochimaru using Edo Tensei with the First and Second Hokage.
So the matchup became:
Four Kage-level fighters vs two Kage-level fighters.
Logically, Raikage A and Killer B stood no chance—and that part was fine.
What wasn't fine was… the writing process.
No matter how many times I rewrote it, how much research I did, or how many drafts I arranged, the whole thing felt bland. Something about the fight simply refused to come alive. Even when I tried a faster version with minimal detail, it still didn't feel enjoyable.
I finally wrote a 2500-word version and sent it to ChatGPT to correct grammatical mistakes, smoothem the tone and make the chapter correct any mistakes. But it cut it down to around 1300 words, and after reading it, I just felt irritated. Within ten minutes of posting it, I deleted the whole thing.
So, I've decided something:
I'm not writing this fight—at least not right now.
For now, the battle between Orochimaru & Kisame vs Raikage A & Killer B will remain offscreen.
Maybe in the future, I'll write it as an extra chapter—but not now.
I've learned something important:
If a scene isn't enjoyable even for me to write, it won't be enjoyable for you to read. And forcing myself to write boring chapters only makes the entire story feel dull.
So I apologize for skipping this part, but I think it's the right choice.
From here, I'll continue directly with the Chūnin Exam arc, with a small segment showing Akira explaining the situation, offering condolences to Yugito, and touching on some political consequences. Then it's back to the main storyline.
If you're enjoying the novel and have made it this far, feel free to leave a comment—point out mistakes, or tell me what parts you enjoyed.
Your feedback genuinely helps.
Thank you for reading, and… goodbye for now.
