Inside the large meeting room, Larry was explaining the results of his tracking. But I could not focus on his words at all, because the table where his hands rested was the exact place where Clarissa and I had, well… done that.
"Should I widen the search area, Commander Black?" Larry suddenly asked.
I cleared my throat and spoke seriously. "Repeat your tracking conclusion."
From the corner of my eye, I could see someone casting a judging look at Clarissa.
Larry did not complain and answered right away. "The Witch left no traces at all. Their scent disappeared completely, and even Alpha Green's scent is gone. So far, we haven't found any clues."
The kidnapping of Alpha Green had already been discussed in a previous meeting. Clarissa knew about it, but from the beginning, she had shown no reaction.
Even if she reacted, she might feel relieved. After all, the man who hurt her had been kidnapped.
