Elizabeth's gaze followed Mai Ge and Amy as they disappeared around the bend. The father and daughter gave her a strange feeling, they looked like ordinary people, but she inexplicably felt a sense of familiarity and danger.
"Elizabeth, what are you thinking about?" Just then, a middle-aged man, also dressed in a snow-white robe that looked as if it had been carved from frost, pushed open the door and entered. He then looked at Elizabeth standing by the window and asked with a smile.
"It's nothing, just two passersby." Elizabeth withdrew her gaze, turned back to the man and asked with some anticipation, "Uncle, you said you discovered some things left behind by my father back then, is that true? After his battle with Alex, he disappeared for so many years without any news."
"I found it by chance at an auction. I can confirm it belongs to my elder brother. However, there is a bloodline seal inside, which only you can open. That's why I sent a message for you to come here." The man nodded, stretched out his right hand, and a small ice-blue box appeared in his hand. Then, it flew towards Elizabeth out of thin air.
Elizabeth's usually cold face showed a hint of excitement. Her hands trembled slightly as she took the small box, took a deep breath, and gently opened the lid.
In the center of the box was a ring with a round, sapphire-blue jade stone set in the center.
"This is my father's ring!" Elizabeth exclaimed softly, picking up the ring with excitement on her face. However, she quickly became nervous. "This is my father's favorite spatial ring. He always carries it with him. Unless something happens, it is absolutely impossible for him to lose it. Where did you get this ring from?"
"This was found by a mercenary in the wilderness. It was being sold at an auction as an ordinary gemstone ring. I happened to be attending with my friend and sensed my elder brother's presence, so I bought it. Perhaps there are clues inside about my elder brother's disappearance. Why don't you unravel it and take a look?" The man nodded slightly, his expression equally serious.
"Okay." Elizabeth nodded, conjured an ice needle out of thin air, and gently pricked her fingertip. A drop of blue silver blood fell onto the sapphire and was instantly absorbed. A light rose from the ring, and a mirror image of a middle-aged man with long, snow-white hair appeared. He looked at Elizabeth and smiled, "Elizabeth, you're probably the only one who could find this ring. Everyone else probably wishes I were dead."
"Father…" Elizabeth looked at the man whose clothes were slightly dirty and disheveled. Lancaster, the former king of the Giant Frost Dragon Clan, had even lost his personal spatial ring in the wilderness. What had happened to him?
"Things are complicated, and I don't want to say too much, but you can rest assured that I'm not dead. I deliberately threw away this ring. That's all you need to know. There's nothing in the ring, so you don't need to worry too much about who's around you. No one, except a fool, would do anything to you for an empty ring." Lancaster said casually, with a hint of sarcasm.
The image flashed, the projected image disappeared, and the ring returned to its previous appearance.
"Father!" Elizabeth stretched out her hand in a daze, but could not grasp anything, and lowered her hand in disappointment.
"Elizabeth, quickly check if there's anything else inside the ring." Fu Ke Si said, looking at Elizabeth with a slightly anxious expression.
"Empty." Elizabeth glanced at the ring, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, but she didn't show it at all. Instead, she put the ring back into the box with a slightly disappointed expression.
"Empty." Fu Ke Si also looked disappointed. He glanced at the ring in Elizabeth's hand, then looked away. Elizabeth wasn't good at hiding her emotions, and he could tell from her expression whether there was anything inside.
"Uncle, may I take this ring as a keepsake?" Elizabeth looked up at Fu Ke Si and asked, her expression still sorrowful.
"Of course, this is something your father left behind, you can keep it." Fu Ke Si's expression quickly returned to calm. He nodded and said, "I have some business to attend to outside the city. Since you've come all this way to Chaos City, stay a few more days before you leave."
"Hmm." Elizabeth nodded, put away the small box in her hand, and watched as a wisp of blue silver light appeared at Fu Ke Si's feet, and then he disappeared from the room in the blink of an eye.
