"Have you heard? Something big seems to have happened at the Catering Association today. This morning I saw a huge troop of the City Lord's guards going in and out of the Catering Association building, it even seemed like the main gate was sealed off."
"I saw that too, but it seemed to be back to normal by the afternoon. Could it be that the City Lord's Mansion couldn't stand it anymore and was going to intervene for Restaurant Mai Mi?"
"If you ask me, this should have been investigated a long time ago. I haven't been looking for food based on those food rankings for the past two years. Everytime I eat based on the list, I'm disappointed. It's just a random ranking."
Customers queuing outside the Restaurant Mai Mi, waiting for it to open, chatted amongst themselves, many also paying attention to the Catering Association's movements.
"Could it be that the City Lord enjoyed the grilled fish and then went to cause trouble for the Catering Association? But I didn't say anything that night?" Mai Ge had also heard rumors, and although he didn't know exactly what had happened, but he was somewhat gloating over the Catering Association's troubles.
However, Mai Ge also knew that unless the City Lord was determined to rebuild from the ashes, the Catering Association would at most be given a warning and rectification, and there would be no major changes.
As for whether Restaurant Mai Mi will make the list, Mai Ge didn't have high hopes. After all, if something really serious happens, no one would bother to put Restaurant Mai Mi back on the list, right? Mai Ge wasn't so narcissistic that the whole world was watching him.
"Boss, are we having grilled fish tonight?" Yabemia asked expectantly, standing in the kitchen doorway as Mai Ge simmered the sauce.
"Yes, grilled fish tonight, medium spicy." Mai Ge nodded with a smile. He'd liked to try the extra spicy, but worried Sally wouldn't be able to handle it. The medium spicy was quite good too, so he opted for the medium spicy.
"Huh? Why are there so many people in line?" Vivian looked at the two long queues outside the Restaurant Mai Mi, a hint of surprise on her face.
Today she changed into a loose-fitting dark blue long shirt. Last time, her bra strap tore off automatically, which made her a little embarrassed. To avoid the same thing happening again, she was fully prepared this time and decided to order an extra spicy grilled fish!
"With so many people in line, when will it be my turn? I personally pleaded with my father for your restaurant, and all those fat guys were arrested. And I still have to wait in line?" Vivian had unknowingly walked to the back of the line, and pouted. "Fine, for the sake of the Spicy Grilled Fish, I'll reluctantly wait in line. Otherwise, I won't just stand behind so many people!"
Last night she finally slept well, waking up naturally around 9 a.m. this morning. The feeling was truly wonderful, she couldn't remember the last time she'd slept so comfortably, waking up naturally instead of being woken by pain.
And all of this was simply because she ate a Spicy Grilled Fish. So today, she specially changed her clothes and came back for another one, but this time she left through the back door, walking out openly without climbing over the wall.
"No! I can't eat this! I really can't eat this today!" Not far away, Shawnard shook his head, but his feet involuntarily walked towards the Restaurant Mai Mi. However, his walking posture was a bit strange. He swung his legs outwards, walking like a crab, with a look of resistance on his face.
"Stop! Stop right now! If I eat this again today, my ass is really going to explode! No, no... Extremely spicy, I can't handle it! I can't handle it!" Shawnard abruptly stopped, turned around with a pained expression, but after taking only two steps, he turned back, staring at the restaurant sign with a blissful look. After hesitating for a moment, he gritted his teeth, swung his leg, and walked towards the back of the line, thinking fiercely, "Whatever! If I don't eat this delicious grilled fish, I'll definitely die today. As long as I don't order the extremely spicy, I shouldn't be in too much trouble, right?"
"It's that guy again. Has he been stalking me everyday? Heh, I got my father's permission to go out today. If this guy tries to threaten me with this, he can't blame me for being impolite. Although I haven't wielded a sword in years, but dealing with a freak like him shouldn't be a problem." Vivian looked at Shawnard, who walked with an odd gait, a hint of disgust flashing in her eyes. She clenched her fists, ready to strike at any moment.
Many of the customers who were dining at the restaurant last night remembered this young master who boasted about booking the whole place and ended up ordering an extremely spicy grilled fish, eating until his head was steaming. Seeing his current walking posture and expression, they all looked a bit strange. Indeed, it's best not to try extremely spicy food lightly.
Shawnard was a bit distracted today, his mind filled with Spicy Grilled Fish. He was at the very back of another line and didn't notice Vivian, who had changed into a blue dress.
"What? He didn't even glance at me!" This slightly disappointed Vivian, who was ready to make her move. However, she wasn't about to provoke Shawnard. Somewhat bored, she looked around and wondered why there were two lines at this restaurant. She simply asked the old man in front of her.
"Young man, it seems this is your first time dining at Restaurant Mai Mi?" The old man was quite amiable, smiling as he said, "The reason this restaurant is divided into two lines has to do with a dish called tofu pudding..."
Vivian listened with astonishment as the old man recounted how two great mages had a major battle at the restaurant entrance over the taste of a bowl of tofu pudding, and how the sweet and savory factions were established, leading to two queues forming at the restaurant entrance from then on.
"Is this tofu pudding really that delicious?" Vivian asked with some skepticism. She seemed to have ordered a serving last time, but she canceled it because the fish was too big and she didn't get to try it. Hearing the old man say this today, she was genuinely curious.
"Of course! Let me tell you, this Savory Tofu Pudding is refreshing and delicious. A bowl before a meal is appetizing and cleanses the intestines—absolutely top notch, not to be missed!" The old man nodded, strongly recommending it.
"Young man, don't listen to him. Sweet Tofu Pudding is sweet but not cloying. A bowl after a meal is incredibly satisfying and worth a try." a middle-aged man in the next line said earnestly.
"Well… I can have one serving of each, that way I can see which flavor is better." Vivian said matter of factly.
"That'll only work if Boss Mai is willing to sell you a second serving." both of them rolled their eyes simultaneously and fell silent.
"Hmph, it's not like I'm short of money, why would he refuse to sell to me?" Vivian pouted, not worried at all.
"Welcome." Mai Ge opened the door with a smile. The introduction of the Spicy Grilled Fish had boosted the restaurant's revenue significantly, and he could start preparing to buy his second set of physical fitness points. Moreover, it seemed like it was time to upgrade the restaurant's level.
