Their presence cast a heavy shadow over the settlement.
Due to the investigation, the local military commander declared a strict curfew. Villagers were forbidden from leaving their homes after sunset. Merchants were blocked from entering or exiting the main gates.
The trade route froze completely.
Consequently, the monthly grain quota collection was pushed back. The military announced a five-day extension, giving the farmers a brief respite from their looming deadline.
For most villagers, this lockdown was a source of immense anxiety. They huddled in their homes, fearing both the Guild inspectors and the potential return of the bandits.
