Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: The Absolute Truth of Identity

The endless web of connections remained silent.

William stood in the center of an existence that had no beginning and no end, surrounded by truths older than time itself.

The countless broken connections before him stopped moving.

For the first time since entering this trial, the ancient voice did not question him.

It did not challenge him.

Instead—

it began to teach.

"Tell me, William," the voice echoed through every thread of existence, "have you ever wondered why countless worlds, separated by infinite distances, born under different laws and different civilizations, all possess the same primordial language?"

William's eyes narrowed.

It was true.

Throughout his journey across the universe, from insignificant worlds to places where the laws of reality themselves were merely tools, he had noticed this phenomenon.

Languages changed.

Civilizations developed their own forms of communication.

Words evolved.

But at the deepest level, there existed an original language that every intelligent existence could understand.

The language of identity.

The voice continued.

"Because all existence is born from identity."

"A thing does not exist because it has form."

"It does not exist because it possesses power."

"It does not exist because it occupies space."

"It exists because it can be recognized."

The countless threads around William began to change.

A mountain appeared.

A star appeared.

A living being appeared.

Each one was connected to a thread carrying a single concept.

Recognition.

Understanding.

Identity.

"If every being in existence looks upon this mountain and understands that it is a mountain, then the mountain possesses identity."

The image trembled.

"What, then, happens to something that no one can recognize?"

The mountain disappeared.

Not destroyed.

Not erased.

It simply became nothing.

William watched carefully.

The voice explained.

"What has never been perceived by anyone has no identity."

"And what has no identity cannot be acknowledged by existence itself."

"Therefore, it is erased from the framework of reality."

A deep silence followed.

William thought about his own power.

The power to cut relationships.

The power to sever the connection between a person and their body.

Between a soul and its existence.

Between a being and the memories held by others.

Until nothing remained.

At last, he understood why such a technique represented the highest form of destruction.

It did not merely kill.

It destroyed identity.

It removed the proof that something had ever existed.

"Now you understand a fragment of truth," the voice said.

"But identity alone does not define existence."

The universe around him transformed.

The countless threads gathered together, forming an impossible structure.

The foundation of reality itself.

"The universe possesses an Absolute Truth."

"A truth that does not change because someone believes otherwise."

"A truth that exists even when no one understands it."

William looked toward the infinite structure.

"Then why does identity matter?"

The voice answered immediately.

"Because truth is the foundation of existence."

"Identity is the way existence recognizes that foundation."

A moment of realization appeared in William's eyes.

The relationship between the two was like the relationship between a law and the things governed by that law.

One was the eternal principle.

The other was its expression.

Then the atmosphere changed.

For the first time, the ancient voice carried a feeling that William could not describe.

Respect.

Reverence.

"Above all identities."

"Above all truths."

"There was one existence."

The entire realm became still.

"The sole Creator of this universe."

"The first and only being whose existence did not require recognition."

"The one who did not receive identity from another."

"The one who defined identity itself."

William's breathing slowed.

Even the Eternal Body, a power that stood beyond countless universal laws, spoke of that being with complete respect.

"The Creator possessed an absolute identity."

"An absolute truth."

"A self that could never be denied."

"That was the origin of all things."

The threads around William began displaying countless scenes.

Stars being born.

Laws being established.

The first concepts taking shape.

Everything existed according to a precise design.

Yet William noticed something unusual.

There were imperfections.

Small inconsistencies.

Contradictions that should not have existed in a perfect creation.

The voice spoke before William could ask.

"You have noticed them."

William nodded.

"Flaws."

"Yes."

"Not flaws of weakness."

"Not mistakes."

"They are the marks of identity."

The entire universe trembled.

"Every existence possesses a truth."

"Every truth possesses characteristics that distinguish it from every other truth."

"What lesser beings call flaws are merely the boundaries that define their nature."

A flame burns because it cannot become ice.

A sword cuts because it does not heal.

Time moves because it does not remain still.

Destruction ends things because it does not preserve them.

Their limitations were not signs of incompleteness.

They were the reason they had an identity.

The voice became deeper.

"The greatest mistake made by those who pursue power is to seek perfection without limits."

"To become everything."

"To possess every possibility."

"But an existence that is everything is also nothing."

"Without a boundary, there is no identity."

William remained silent.

Those words shook everything he had learned.

Even his own power.

The Eternal Body had always seemed like a power capable of connecting every concept, touching every law, and influencing all of reality.

But now he understood.

Its purpose was not to become everything.

Its purpose was to understand everything and preserve the relationships that allowed each thing to remain itself.

The ancient voice gave its final statement.

"Remember this, candidate of the Eternal Body."

"To destroy an identity is to destroy a truth."

"To create a false identity is to corrupt a truth."

"And to understand the identity of all things..."

The endless threads illuminated.

"...is to stand closer to the true path ."

For the first time since entering the trial, William lowered his head.

Not out of fear.

But out of the realization that the universe was far greater than even his imagination had allowed him to believe.

And the path toward becoming the inheritor of the Eternal Body had only just begun.
