Chapter 22 - "A New Script: Goku's Wedding."

About two more years passed as Broly pushed his body toward its absolute limit, grinding every ounce of strength down to the edge. By now, his power level was hovering just shy of ten thousand—only a sliver away from breaking through. Holding himself back for this long had been pure torture.

But Broly felt it was worth it. His body, his mind, his potential, his very foundation—he had refined every part of himself to perfection. And now, he could feel it: he couldn't suppress his growing power anymore. Taking a single step forward, he vanished from his training chamber and reappeared on Snake Way, exactly where he'd once marked his location with a guide flag.

He wasn't sure what would happen when his bloodline finally awakened. If he lost control of his power for even a moment and ended up destroying Earth too badly, he definitely wasn't in the mood to go hunting Dragon Balls to fix it.

Staring at his power level—only ten more points left before hitting 10,000—Broly tossed another small Fruit of the Divine Nerve Tree into his mouth. Slowly, he guided the fruit's energy into that long-dormant bloodline within him. In the meantime, he forced his strength down again, letting it rise only point by point.

Finally, when his power reached 9,999, he couldn't restrain it anymore. Feeling that his body had been polished to its peak, Broly abruptly released every bit of suppression.

A loud boom echoed. A blazing, golden aura erupted from his body, shooting high into the sky and blowing his long hair upward in a wild surge.

His blood raced, boiling inside him. Broly felt an illusion—almost like he could hear cheers and shouts of joy from deep within his bloodline, roaring out its awakening. At that exact moment, every surviving Saiyan, including Son Goku, shuddered uncontrollably. It wasn't their minds reacting—something deep in their bodies trembled on its own. It was the instinctive respect and submission of Saiyan blood toward its king.

Of course, this golden aura didn't mean Broly had transformed into a Super Saiyan. This was simply the natural phenomenon triggered by the awakening of the Legendary Super Saiyan bloodline.

His suppressed strength of five years exploded upward with the bloodline's awakening—10,000…13,000…17,000…24,000…28,000… until finally hitting 30,000. There, Broly forced the growth to stop again and redirected all the unused energy pouring out of his bloodline into strengthening his body.

When that power was fully absorbed, his strength settled at 35,000. His physique had once again reached its limit. To grow further, he'd have to increase his battle power before he could refine his body any more.

Now, Broly was finally free—like a dragon breaking out of its cage. He no longer had to set aside time to increase his battle power. He could focus entirely on body refinement, because the Legendary Super Saiyan bloodline would automatically and continuously boost his power. Even if he diverted most of that rising energy into training his body, the remaining amount was more than enough to give him astonishing power growth.

During Broly's seven years of seclusion, the world more or less followed its original script. Goku still ran into several future Z-fighters by coincidence and ended up becoming Master Roshi's disciple.

When King Piccolo was released and Goku drank the Ultra Divine Water to defeat him, Master Roshi didn't sacrifice himself using the Evil Containment Wave—because Broly had long since warned him not to.

After defeating King Piccolo, Goku spent three years training under Kami and returned for the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, where he spared the reincarnated Piccolo.

Three years prior, King Piccolo had once almost attacked West City. Broly, who had been deep in seclusion, was forced to make a brief appearance.

Just once.

With a casual slap, Broly left King Piccolo barely clinging to life—a lesson the demon king never forgot. Broly didn't care either way; King Piccolo wasn't going to live much longer anyway.

What Broly didn't expect was that right when he was preparing for his own wedding, Goku suddenly sent him an invitation.

That wasn't the surprising part.

The surprising part was the message written on it—Goku was getting married.

Broly stood there bewildered. Married? To who??

On the day of Goku's wedding, Broly ended up holding his own ceremony together with Bulma and his other three brides, turning the whole thing into a combined celebration.

From Goku, Broly learned the details: apparently Goku had accidentally saved a rich young lady named Paresa. The girl fell head-over-heels at first sight for her two-thirds "tall, handsome, rich" hero and insisted on marrying him to repay his kindness.

Goku, being absolutely clueless about romance, had no idea what "marriage" even meant and agreed without thinking.

Broly thought to himself: Honestly? Not bad. Marrying a rich girl is way better than the original storyline, where Chi Chi basically carried the entire family's burden alone.

No wonder Chi Chi was always upset in the original story—how many women could shoulder that kind of responsibility in real life? Now Broly was just curious: with a wealthy and comfortable home life, without Chi Chi's strict education, would Gohan still focus on martial arts? And if so… just how strong would he grow to be?
