Chapter 153 - Chapter 153: Correcting the Plot

Chapter 153: Correcting the Plot

"Kagami, rest well and recover. I'm leaving."

Masahiko nodded to Kagami Uchiha and walked out of the ward.

After learning from Mito that people resembling the Six Paths of Pain had appeared and attacked Kagami first, Masahiko thought he might get some new information by visiting him.

Unlike Nawaki, who was still unconscious, Kagami was an S-class ninja after all. Moreover, according to Mito, the one who attacked Nawaki was the Deva Path (Tendo), possessing the same gravity-manipulation abilities as Masahiko, so Kagami's injuries weren't too severe.

According to Kagami, the attacker came solely for him, even intentionally avoiding other Uchiha clansmen. Apart from his injury, the rest of the Uchiha suffered no losses.

Masahiko hurried to ask Mito again and received the same result, which puzzled him.

"What exactly is the reason? These four people who were attacked: two civilians, one Uchiha clan leader, one Senju heir... there's no connection. And they deliberately avoided causing other damage; the targets were way too specific."

Masahiko muttered to himself, feeling very perplexed.

"I should go check on Orochimaru again. His parents still died..."

"Still?"

Masahiko's heart skipped a beat as he felt he grasped a clue.

"Kagami and Nawaki—in the original story, they should both be dead by this time. Orochimaru's parents too."

"It couldn't be..."

Masahiko's expression changed several times. Suddenly, he shot into the sky and flew towards the Land of Whirlpools.

If his suspicion was correct, the Land of Whirlpools should also be under attack.

Sure enough, near the Land of Whirlpools, Masahiko sensed chaotic chakra fluctuations.

"This chakra... did Nanako-kun seal the Two-Tails into her own body?"

Although they were being invaded, Masahiko breathed a sigh of relief. Aside from Nanako-kun becoming the Two-Tails Jinchuriki, the chakra fluctuations of his other two disciples were also normal. The three of them shouldn't be at too much of a disadvantage against the enemy.

"Hmm?" Just as Masahiko was about to arrive, the chakra signatures of the five enemies suddenly merged into one, and the chakra volume multiplied several times over.

"Concentrating all chakra into the Deva Path?" Masahiko's heart jumped as he saw a small black sphere slowly rising high into the sky.

"Damn it! Sage Mode — Activate! Seventh Gate: Gate of Wonder — Open!" Masahiko instantly used his full power, rushing straight for the black sphere.

The Chibaku Tensei released by the Rinnegan was a highly concentrated gravity source. Masahiko went all out and finally arrived just before the Land of Whirlpools was reduced to ruins, erasing the technique.

"Sensei, you're back!" Three shouts came from below Masahiko. He nodded and focused his gaze on the sole remaining enemy.

"It really is the Six Paths of Pain..." Masahiko frowned. "And wearing Akatsuki robes."

Masahiko looked at the unfamiliar face opposite him, thoughts racing in his mind. The Deva Path's face certainly wasn't Yahiko's; Masahiko had never seen it before. But the familiar outfit made him uncomfortable.

The Deva Path opposite glanced at him, surprisingly nodded, moved its lips as if saying something, and then vanished with a "poof."

Masahiko was stunned. The opponent seemed to have greeted him, which confused him even more.

"Mind's Eye of the Kagura!" Ignoring his three disciples gathering around him, Masahiko fully activated his perception.

"Actually nothing..." Within a radius of several miles, Masahiko couldn't find the chakra fluctuation of the main body.

"Such a large control range, and this level of skill... I'm afraid he's even stronger than Nagato in the original story by a few notches. Who exactly is it? Could there be a second transmigrator?"

Masahiko's thoughts were in turmoil. The attack on the Land of Whirlpools, just as he predicted, confirmed his suspicion.

The four people attacked in Konoha had only one thing in common: in the original story, they should all be dead by this time. Masahiko felt as if someone was deliberately correcting the plot, but they failed because Mito was too strong.

As for the Land of Whirlpools, if he hadn't rushed back, it would likely have been completely destroyed.

"Did another crazy Naruto fan transmigrate here? Trying to modify the plot back to its normal course without me?"

"No..."

Masahiko finally remembered. At Mount Myōboku, the Great Toad Sage had once said that a young man with double hair buns (topknots) would fight him, bringing disaster and destruction.

"Double hair buns... that shouldn't be a modern person. And a young man..."

Masahiko felt that fighting someone now wouldn't exactly be "disaster and destruction"; that description should be reserved for Six Paths-level battles or higher.

"He appeared now, and will still look young in the future. Could he be an old undying monster like me... Or maybe he also has a Witness Point System?"

"Heh, how is that possible."

Masahiko stopped overthinking. Looking at his three disciples surrounding him and then at the Land of Whirlpools, which was nearly half-destroyed, he sighed.

"Truly inexplicable!"

"You three, organize the clansmen to settle down temporarily. Don't rebuild the destroyed buildings for now. We're moving later!"

The three were stunned. Izuko-kun asked tentatively, "Are we going to the Land of Lightning?"

Masahiko shook his head. "Don't worry about where yet. I have arrangements."

After saying this, Masahiko descended and bit his finger. "Summoning Jutsu!"

Although most of the Whirlpool populace had been arranged to evacuate, many were still injured. He left the rest to his three disciples, but the wounded were under his care.

"Great Elder, I heard we are moving away from here?" Gensuke-kun walked over with an excited face and asked.

Masahiko glared at him. "Where were you during the battle just now?"

In the current Land of Whirlpools, apart from Masahiko and his three disciples, Gensuke-kun was considered the strongest. In a battle like that, he should have been able to provide support from the side.

Gensuke-kun smiled sheepishly. "Great Elder, I've neglected my training a bit in the last two years. I couldn't intervene just now."

Masahiko sighed and didn't pursue it further. Under Gensuke-kun's management these years, the Land of Whirlpools had been fairly prosperous.

"Our relocation might involve quite a bit of trouble. You'll be busy then," Masahiko said, shaking his head.

Gensuke-kun felt reassured getting confirmation and asked, "Great Elder, have you finally agreed for us to move to the Land of Lightning?"

Masahiko shook his head. "Not the Land of Lightning. You'll know tomorrow."

Gensuke-kun looked puzzled, but Masahiko ignored him. After sensing slightly, he walked towards Yuna-kun and her family.

Previously, with Yuna-kun away, even though the Land of Whirlpools received large amounts of supplies from the Land of Lightning, its development could only be described as rapid, not earth-shattering. After all, converting supplies into practical advancements was a problem.

Now that Yuna-kun was back, and since half the buildings in the Land of Whirlpools were destroyed, Masahiko planned to make a big move. The Land of Lightning could no longer be called one of the Five Great Nations. Masahiko wanted the Land of Whirlpools to become one of the new Five Great Nations!
