Chapter 228 - Chapter 228 Face-Breaking Kick

Chapter 228 Face-Breaking Kick

After giving Obito a simple pre-exam guidance session, the two returned to the Taobao Shop. Only then did Masahiko remember his other apprentice.

"Where is Rin? Why didn't she come with you? Went on a date with Kakashi?" Masahiko teased.

Obito's face flushed red, and he blurted out, "Rin would never date that guy Kakashi!"

"Oh? Then she would date you?"

Obito looked longing, then sighed dejectedly.

"Master, how did you woo your wife ? Teach me."

Masahiko froze, almost cursing out loud: How the hell should I know how I wooed her?

"For a man as handsome as me, it was your Mistress who pursued me." After pondering for a moment, Masahiko could only say this.

Obito believed it immediately, showing a look of admiration, which made Masahiko feel a little embarrassed.

He immediately changed the subject. "You haven't said where Rin went yet."

"She went home to tell her parents about the Chunin Exam." Speaking of this, Obito looked slightly downcast.

Masahiko paused, suddenly remembering that Obito's parents had sacrificed themselves in the Second Great Ninja War, making him half an orphan.

Just as he was about to offer some comfort, Obito cheered himself up.

"Master, tomorrow, come and witness the moment I become a Chunin with your own eyes!"

Masahiko was stunned, then nodded. For once, he refrained from his "sharp tongue." "Good luck! Go back and prepare!"

...

The next day, inside the Ninja Academy.

Masahiko saw an Obito who looked like he wanted to die. Originally full of confidence, he never expected the first test to be theory, commonly known as a written exam.

Masahiko didn't appear openly in the exam hall but used "Kaguya's Will Mode" to hide inside the outer wall of the exam room.

"This guy, didn't he know the first stage of the Chunin Exam is a written test?" Masahiko smiled bitterly.

Yesterday, Obito hadn't shown any worry about a written test. Masahiko thought he was well-prepared, but he never expected this result.

"It seems your Master has to help you cheat..." Masahiko watched for over ten minutes. Obito still showed no sign of writing. Masahiko could only helplessly think of a way himself.

Suddenly, the sound of a chair dragging was heard. Kakashi stood up and walked to the front.

"Finished answering so quickly?" The proctor asked in surprise.

"Yes."

Seeing this, Masahiko smiled and muttered to himself, "Nice teamwork."

While Kakashi attracted the proctor's attention, Rin secretly threw a paper ball to Obito, containing at least half the answers.

Masahiko stopped watching; nothing should go wrong with the written test now.

Sure enough, two hours later, Masahiko heard Obito cheering happily in the shop.

"Stop showing off. Hurry back and prepare for the second exam. You know the content of the second exam this time, right?" Masahiko said helplessly.

Obito paused and pouted. "It's a team battle. I hope that guy Kakashi doesn't drag me down."

Masahiko was startled. He didn't expect there to be a team battle.

However, this made Masahiko breathe a slight sigh of relief. A team battle reflected the comprehensive strength of the entire team, and Team Minato had Kakashi. Among his peers, he was temporarily invincible. Guy would need until later to catch up.

Glancing at Obito, his expression of hoping Kakashi wouldn't drag him down was completely heartfelt, which made Masahiko somewhat helpless.

"Where exactly does this confidence come from?"

"Forget it. Having confidence is good. Good luck tomorrow. Go back now."

As a result, the next day, Masahiko watched with black lines on his face as Obito arrived at the exam venue just as the exam was about to start.

After arguing a few sentences with Kakashi, the group entered the exam site. Their opponent happened to be Guy's team.

"Did he help an old lady cross the street again? Why does Obito encounter creatures like old ladies every time?" Masahiko looked blank. Could this be the so-called Will of the World?

Fortunately, Obito's lateness didn't result in an immediate disqualification, and the battle began.

However...

Masahiko watched dumbfounded as Obito failed to release a Fireball Jutsu, and was then directly knocked out by a "Face-Breaking Kick" from Guy.

"Candy?" Masahiko didn't know whether to laugh or cry. A piece of candy falling from the fallen Obito's mouth revealed the cause.

"Eating candy during a fight, really something." Masahiko felt helpless. None of the moves he taught Obito were used; Obito had KO'd himself.

Sighing, Masahiko lost the mood to continue watching. Kakashi was practically dealing with the three opponents alone, while Rin could only play a minor support role.

"Flagwood 50/50 (Kakashi Hatake's nickname), I hope you do well." Muttering this, Masahiko turned and left.

In the evening, Masahiko saw a dejected Obito in the shop again.

"You're really something. I taught you those dirty... uh, tactics, and you didn't use them. You only sabotaged yourself?"

Obito also looked helpless. "Master, I helped an old lady go home today..."

Masahiko waved his hand. "I wasn't talking about you being late."

Obito looked miserable. "That old lady rewarded me with a piece of candy."

Masahiko paused, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"Alright then. Tomorrow is your last chance. Good luck." Masahiko sighed, not holding out much hope anymore. He reckoned he wouldn't get those Witness Points.

"Master, tomorrow I will definitely win!" Obito was still full of confidence in himself.

"Hehe."

Another day passed, and time rolled around to May 1st. The final individual battles of the Chunin Exam were held today.

Coincidentally, Obito faced Might Guy head-on again—the person who had KO'd him with one hit yesterday.

Obito already had a kunai in his hand, ready to throw it into the sky at any moment to execute his tactic.

But before that, Obito prepared to say a few "tough words."

"It's you again! I won't be careless today!" Obito said hatefully.

Guy looked blank. "Have I ever done anything excessive to you?"

In the spectator stands, Masahiko looked at the indignant Obito and almost laughed out loud.

"Guy has amnesia; he can even forget someone with looks like Kisame after seeing them."

"Obito, do your best!" Rin's shout came from the side.

Obito clearly heard it; his smile almost split his face. He even turned to give Rin a victory sign. Then... Masahiko closed his eyes, unable to watch.

Bang! The sound of impact echoed throughout the exam venue. Obito was hit by Guy's "Face-Breaking Kick" again. One-round KO.

"Sure enough, it was right not to have expectations." Masahiko was speechless, and Rin didn't know what to say either.

However...

Chinese characters flashed before Masahiko's eyes: Witnessed and participated in Naruto World side story: Obito fails the Chunin Exam. Obtained 3 Witness Points.

Masahiko didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Is this a consolation prize? Just enough to make up 1000. I'm 1000 points away from being invincible..."

This time Masahiko didn't leave but continued to watch the battle, observing Kakashi advancing through the rounds amidst Rin's cheers.

Hmm, beside him was a lifeless Obito, with a fresh bandage on his face...
