"You followed us."
"I noticed you earlier... I wondered how much you had discovered. When you came here instead of approaching me, I thought it best to find out."
Elion forced himself to relax. Against a spatial Saint, distance probably meant very little anyway.
"You could have announced yourself."
"I just did."
'Very funny.'
Albert looked toward the illuminated gates with narrowed eyes. He studied the lines gathered around Kali, then looked at the fractured sphere above the altar.
"It responded to her."
"You sound surprised," Elion said.
"I am." Albert stepped closer, though Kali's cold stare brought him to a stop before he reached the altar.
"Tell me... what did you do?" he asked.
"Nothing special," she replied with a simple shrug.
Albert remained silent for a moment, studying her with an intensity Elion didn't particularly like. He shook his head after a moment, perhaps deciding that speaking to the woman was a waste of time. He looked to Elion instead.
