The two identical figures stood opposite one another beneath an endless sea of stars, their blades humming with anticipation as the void trembled beneath the weight of their mana.
Elion prepared himself for another flurry of exchanges, that is, until the duplicate slowly lowered its blade. The violent mana surrounding his body faded.
Elion narrowed his eyes, "What now?" he asked.
The copy studied him quietly as a faint smile appeared on his face.
"You have already answered most of what this trial wanted to know," he said. "You understand your weaknesses. You understand your fears. You understand that strength alone does not guarantee victory."
Elion remained silent.
"But there is one question left."
The stars around them dimmed slightly. The memories drifting through the void vanished one by one until only the two of them remained.
The copy stepped forward.
