Lucien barely heard the other battle, his attention entirely on the Entity.
The statue moved with an unnatural fluidity for something made of stone. Its blades carved through the air. Lucien slipped beneath one, Argon flashing as a blue line appeared across the Entity's abdomen.
It stumbled, and Alcione immediately moved into the opening. "Aegis!" He called, the ground erupting beneath him.
A massive slab of reinforced stone rose between Lucien and the Entity just as its second blade came crashing down. The impact shattered the surface of the Aegis.
Alcione grunted. "Lucien!"
"I know."
Lucien stepped backward. His breathing was becoming heavier, the ache at his temple only intensifying. He could feel his energy slipping. He was no doubt already at fifty percent—perhaps lower now. He definitely couldn't afford to waste another movement.
