Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 – The Root and the Mage

The moon hung high above the Forest of Tianyu. The wind brushed gently through the leaves, and the chirping of insects blended with the soft crackling of the campfire.

Lyra slept with her back against a tree.Draven snored quietly, wrapped in a makeshift blanket.Borin rumbled like a distant forge, the sound oddly comforting.

But Ren Tianyi was still awake.

He sat in silence, gazing at the night sky — a sea of shimmering stars mirrored on the surface of the small lake beside the cabin. His silver eyes, normally calm, now carried something else: weariness.

"They're growing too fast…"Ren held his staff against his chest. The artifact pulsed faintly, as if sensing his thoughts.

— "You know," Borin muttered without opening his eyes, "a blacksmith feels that too sometimes."

Ren turned, surprised. The dwarf remained lying down, but his voice was firm.— "When you forge something with your own hands, it gains a life of its own. The stronger it becomes… the further it moves away from you."

Ren was quiet for a moment.— "You're saying a leader should get used to losing what he creates?"— "No," Borin replied. "I'm saying he should be proud when what he creates can walk on its own."

The dwarf turned over and went back to snoring as if nothing had happened. But the words lingered.

🌿 The Call of the Forest

Hours later, Ren rose to his feet. His staff began to glow softly, and a familiar sensation filled the air.

He followed the whisper of the wind, slipping between the trees until he reached a clearing he had never seen before. At its center stood an ancient tree, massive and covered in glowing runes. Its roots pulsed faintly, like living veins.

Ren approached carefully. When he touched the bark, his staff reacted — and a voice echoed inside his mind.

"Child of another world… the cycle watches you."

Ren froze.— "Who's there?"

The voice was calm and deep, as though it came from within the tree itself.

"You carry the seed of what does not yet exist. But even roots require time to grow."

The staff's glow intensified.Runes formed across the trunk, carving themselves into the shape of the Immortal Guild's emblem.

Ren knelt.— "Then even the land acknowledges us…"

"The land only returns what the heart plants."

And then the glow faded.Silence reclaimed the clearing.

Ren breathed deeply, feeling the weight of the encounter.

💭 Reflections of a Leader

Back at the camp, Ren watched his companions sleeping.Borin — firm and unshakable.Lyra — light as the wind.Draven — fire still learning its shape.

He saw them all as seeds — unique, yet fragile.

"One day, all of you will have paths of your own. And when that day comes…"Ren looked at the stars."…I hope you'll still see me as part of you."

He finally lay down, allowing himself to rest. His staff settled beside him, glowing softly with the same light as the night sky.
