Chapter 11 - INTERTWINED

The air in the Rossi estate felt heavier that morning thick with the weight of unspoken truths. Isabella stood by the balcony, arms folded tightly across her chest, watching the sun dip below the horizon. A sharp gust of wind tugged at her loose hair, but she didn't move. Behind her, footsteps echoed—measured, deliberate.

Fernando.

He said nothing as he came to stand beside her, but the tension between them sparked like a lit fuse. Ever since Marco's unexpected appearance, everything had shifted. Trust, already fragile, now trembled under the weight of suspicion.

"You've been quiet," Fernando finally said, his voice low and careful.

"I have a lot to think about," she replied, not turning to face him.

"About Marco?" His jaw clenched. "You don't trust me, do you?"

Isabella glanced at him then, her eyes shadowed with a storm of emotion. "I want to. But you keep secrets, Fernando. You tell me he's dangerous, yet you let him get close. You say you want me safe, but I keep getting pulled deeper into your world."

He exhaled sharply, stepping closer. "Because I don't know how to keep you safe and keep you with me at the same time."

Silence. Then Isabella whispered, "What exactly is this… us?"

Fernando moved, turning her toward him. His hand cupped her cheek, and the usual fire in his eyes softened. "It's chaos. It's obsession. It's me losing control every time you walk into a room. I've done unforgivable things, Isa… but you are the one thing I want to keep untouched."

She blinked, heart thudding.

He leaned in slowly. "You make me want to be better, even when I don't know how."

Their lips brushed, not quite a kiss, more like a question. A moment suspended in time. But Isabella pulled back slightly.

"We're playing a dangerous game," she said. "And I'm not sure if I'll survive it."

Fernando's expression darkened with something between regret and longing. "You won't play alone. If we fall, we fall together."

Below, in the shadows of the courtyard, Marco watched from afar, cigarette burning between his fingers. His smirk was cold.

But lurking beneath the glamour was a secret Fernando had yet to reveal — one that could change everything between them.

That one word seemed to ignite something in him. Fernando's lips crashed onto hers, fierce and demanding, claiming her with a hunger that left no room for doubt.

Their bodies pressed together, every touch sending electric shocks through Isabella's veins. It was a dance of control and surrender, of shadows and light, the line between pain and pleasure blurring with every heartbeat.

When they finally broke apart, both gasping for air, Fernando's eyes darkened.

"You don't know what you're getting into," he warned. "But I promise you, it will be unforgettable."

Isabella nodded, her heart pounding wildly.

"Yes," she breathed. "I want it

Her phone buzzed beside her—a message from Lara, her best friend since university.

*Lara:* *"Hey, you okay? You missed brunch this morning."*

Isabella smiled faintly, typing back.

*Isabella:* *"Sorry, things got complicated. Tell me everything."*

Lara's voice was warm and grounding. They'd met years ago at a café, bonding over shared dreams and endless coffee. Lara was the light to Isabella's storm—always steady, always fierce in her own right.

By mid-morning, Isabella was at work, her day job at a boutique marketing firm providing a stark contrast to the dark, dangerous world Fernando inhabited. She was good at her job—creative, sharp, and reliable. Her colleagues admired her, even if they never guessed about the battles she fought in her heart.

She spent the day juggling meetings, client pitches, and brainstorming sessions, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Fernando. The way he'd looked at her, like she was both a prize and a threat. The way he'd whispered promises she wasn't sure she was ready to keep.

During lunch, she met Lara at their favorite spot, a quiet rooftop café with views over the city.

"You look different," Lara said, scanning Isabella's face. "More... alive?"

Isabella laughed softly. "It's complicated."

Lara reached across the table, squeezing her hand. "Tell me when you're ready. I'm here."

Isabella nodded, grateful for the anchor. Yet inside the storm was only growing
