Chapter 8 - Chapter - 8 Bond of Love, Fire and Friendship

In Hogwarts, Amelia, who had taken responsibility as Headmistress while everyone slept, remembered a promise she once made to Dumbledore."If anything happens to me," Dumbledore had told her, "you must protect the Gryffindor Sword and the hidden secrets locked within Hogwarts and its four houses."Amelia had nodded with solemn determination.

Meanwhile, James faced Bellatrix."Oh, really?" he said, raising his wand."Incendio!"

The fire spell burst forward—only to destroy James's wand completely. Burned beyond repair.

Bellatrix's eyes widened. "Oh no…?"

She lunged at Rose, grabbing her neck. "How dare you? Even without nails, I still carry poison in my hands… and my mouth. Shall I kiss you, dear girl?"

"Not so fast, Bellatrix."James shoved her away.

Enraged, Bellatrix snatched a knife and aimed for Rose."No! Rose!" Scorpius shouted.

Rose shut her eyes, bracing for the blow—but James threw himself in front of her, shielding her. Tears formed in his eyes as he held her close for a moment. Rose and James locked gazes, breathless.

The knife slashed into James.

Together, Rose and James grabbed his spare wand and shouted,"Expelliarmus!"

Bellatrix was blasted backward, flying out the open window. She landed face-first in muddy animal waste. Insects crawled over her skin as she screamed. From above, James, Rose, and Scorpius burst into loud laughter.

"Bad people always fall into their own traps," James said."Bellatrix is the best example," Scorpius agreed.

Then James and Scorpius jumped out the window safely. Rose stayed for a moment—because the book was still floating.

She remembered Bellatrix's warning: Only a poisonous instrument dipped in powerful fire can break the spell and the invisible locket on the book.

Rose realized James had Basilisk fangs—poisonous and once dipped in the Thorn Claw dragon's fire, a flame strong enough to defeat a basilisk itself. While searching his bag, she also found something shocking—the Gryffindor Sword, believed lost for years. She didn't pull it out.

Instead, she took the Basilisk fang, closed her eyes, and slashed the enchanted locket. The spell shattered.

She grabbed the book and jumped down to join the others.

"What took you so long?" James asked.Rose raised a brow. "Why?"

Later, Rose slashed Bellatrix's dark mark with a knife. Blood poured out.

"How did you know?" Bellatrix hissed.

But immediately she smirked. The pain was fake."You can't kill me. This mark keeps me alive and heals me. Only a fire as strong as Thorn Claw's can destroy it."

Bellatrix laughed as two Dark Army men rose again.

She taunted Rose cruelly, "Until I die, your mother will never wake. If she doesn't wake within fifteen days, she will sleep permanently—and so will your parents."

James and Rose felt their hearts sink.Scorpius stood firm. "We won't let that happen."

Bellatrix signaled her men to attack. But before the blades could strike—

A thunderous roar shook the room.

Thorn Claw arrived.Fangs glowing. Eyes burning with ancient fury.

Bellatrix ordered, "Kill them! Thorn Claw, I am your master! Obey me—or I'll kill you!"

But Thorn Claw only grew angrier. Hearing Bellatrix laugh at James, Rose, and Scorpius made his rage erupt.

The dragon stepped between them, shielding the three students with his enormous body.

James, Rose, and Scorpius held each other's hands tightly, trusting Thorn.

With a massive roar, Thorn Claw unleashed a blazing storm of fire.Bellatrix and her Dark Army screamed and were consumed by the flames.

Thorn then stepped forward and lowered his head to the trio.

"Don't be scared," James whispered. He gently touched Thorn Claw's fur.

The dragon's expression softened. Tears filled his eyes.

"Did you come for us?" James asked.

Thorn nodded.

"Will you come with us? The path ahead is dangerous."

Another nod.

James smiled warmly. "From the moment I first saw you, I felt a connection. I didn't take you then because I didn't want you harmed. But today… you saved us. You defeated our enemy. You did something that means everything."

Thorn Claw trembled with emotion.

"From today, you're not alone. You're one of us. My best friend. My buddy. We'll call you Thorn."

Thorn roared softly, tears falling. James wiped them gently.

"How did Thorn know we were here?" Rose wondered."Dragons have a strong sense of smell," Scorpius explained. "Maybe he followed James… or maybe he just felt the bond."

Thorn rested his head on James's shoulder. As he touched him, James's wounds healed instantly.Rose and Scorpius touched Thorn too, welcoming him into their team.

Their journey would now continue—with Thorn at their side.

At Hogwarts…

Hermione suddenly opened her eyes. The poison had left her body.

She was healed.
