Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Fatal Fury

He distributed the story script he brought to Ooba Jutarou and Kurumada Masami, then handed the topic over to Takuya: "The story is set in a fictional American city called South Town. It's a place of chaotic order, where wealth and crime intertwine, an outlaw territory beyond the reach of official power."

"The actual ruler of this city is named Geese Howard," Takuya deliberately slowed his speech, emphasizing the name, "He is not an ordinary gang leader; he himself is a martial artist of unfathomable strength, proficient in the powerful and overbearing 'Baji Quan'. He built a vast underground empire through an iron fist and conspiracies, making him the absolute emperor of South Town and the final boss of this game."

Kurumada Masami's fingertips stopped tapping on the table, and he looked up at Suzuki.

"There are even rumors that Geese possesses fragments of an ancient secret scroll called the 'Secret Scroll of Qin'."

"It is said to contain power capable of overturning the world. This also adds a mysterious aura to his rule."

"This includes what I mentioned before, the 'unexplainable power' that some characters might come into contact with."

"And the core driving force of the story is revenge," Takuya took a deep breath.

He looked at Kurumada Masami, an author known for his hot-blooded manga, who was surely no stranger to such themes. "Years ago, Geese had a friend who also pursued the pinnacle of martial arts, named Jeff Bogard. But Jeff disdained Geese's ambition and methods, and eventually, the two broke ties. The result... Geese set a trap, stole the fragments of the 'Secret Scroll of Qin' from Jeff, and personally killed him in front of Jeff's two adopted sons—Terry Bogard and Andy Bogard."

Silence fell in the conference room for a few seconds. Ooba Jutarou frowned slightly, seemingly envisioning the visual impact of this cruel scene.

"Those two children, Terry and Andy, swore to avenge their adoptive father," Takuya's voice deepened, "They parted ways from then on, each embarking on arduous training. The older brother, Terry, became a disciple of the Chinese martial arts master Tang Fu Lu, learning the 'Baji Holy Fist,' which emphasizes broad and powerful movements, and his personality also became like fire, unrestrained and bold."

"The younger brother, Andy, traveled across the ocean to Japan, becoming a disciple of the 'Shiranui-ryu Ninjutsu,' learning mysterious and swift assassination techniques, and his personality leaned more towards calmness and composure." Takuya paused, adding a detail, "They also have a close friend, the Muay Thai champion Joe, who, to help the brothers, resolutely decided to embark on this path of revenge with them."

"To consolidate his rule and also to lure out and eliminate potential threats, Geese decided to host an unprecedented fighting tournament in South Town," Suzuki said, a slight curve forming on his lips, "This is precisely the opportunity for our protagonists to take the stage."

"The tournament attracted various masters," he continued to introduce, "There's Billy Kane, Geese's most loyal subordinate who fights with a staff, whose mission is to eliminate anyone who challenges Geese's authority; there are also street dancer fighters like Duck King who can't stand Geese's rule; even wealthy businessman boxer Richard Meyer who hopes to break Geese's economic monopoly; and of course, no shortage of villains hired by Geese to act as enforcers, like the Muay Thai fighter Hwa Jai."

"Terry, Andy, and Joe, made their way through this mixed bag of a tournament," Suzuki's speech unconsciously quickened, "Ultimately, they fought their way into Geese's headquarters, the skyscraper symbolizing power and crime—the top floor of Geese Tower."

"There, the two brothers finally confronted their father's killer, and a destined death match unfolded," he described, "Ultimately, the older brother Terry, relying on his willpower and strength beyond limits, thoroughly defeated Geese with his meticulously trained special moves—'Power Wave' and 'Burn Knuckle'."

"The defeated Geese refused to accept defeat and refused to be captured, instead laughing maniacally as he fell from the top of the high tower, disappearing into the night sky of South Town, his fate unknown," Suzuki spread his hands, "The story can conclude here."

"After the victory, Terry did not choose to take over Geese's vast empire, but instead, like a wandering hero, continued to stay in South Town, protecting the ordinary people in this chaotic land, becoming a legendary hero in people's mouths. Andy continued his ninjutsu training, and Joe returned to the Muay Thai arena. Their friendship is an important bond that runs throughout."

"Oh, right," Suzuki added as if remembering something, "Terry, at the last moment, retrieved some fragmented pages of the 'Secret Scroll of Qin' from Geese, but the power and secrets of this scroll are far from being unraveled. This also leaves enough room for future stories."

After he finished his introduction, he looked at the two masters again. This time, he could clearly see the sparkle in Kurumada Masami's eyes, an excitement that a creator feels when finding a desired theme. Ooba Jutarou had also taken off his glasses and was slowly wiping them with a cloth, his gaze behind the lenses deep, seemingly already beginning to conceptualize the storyboards in his mind. The stifling atmosphere in the conference room was completely broken, and a hot current named "creation" began to surge.

Then, Takuya brought out the carefully prepared materials.

He distributed the character design directions for the main characters, as well as the key "special move" concept sketches, to Ooba Jutarou and Kurumada Masami.

Kurumada Masami's eyes suddenly lit up when he saw the skill sketches that blended realistic martial arts with supernatural energy manifestations.

These skills had both the realism of fighting, visual impact, and a unique charm brought by mysterious settings, reminding him of his early work, "Fuma no Kojiro."

He thought of his recently failed, relatively realistic work, "Otoko Zaka," and then compared it to his previously successful work, "Fuma no Kojiro," which had ninja fantasy elements, and seemed to grasp something instantly.

Kurumada Masami murmured softly: "Yes... that's it... If 'Fuma' succeeded, this direction might be even more... Not just fists and feet, but 'momentum,' 'qi,' and even some kind of... protection?"

He seemed to be lost in his own creative world, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

He immediately asked Ooba Jutarou for paper and a pen, then walked to the corner of the conference room and began to sketch rapidly, as if no one else was there.

Ooba Jutarou understood Kurumada Masami's state and did not disturb him.

He carefully reviewed the story outline and setting drafts provided by Takuya, showing great interest in the intense action scenes and character conflicts contained within.
