Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Hiruzen finally spoke, his tone heavy, worn with age.

"Kasi… I understand your anger. We made mistakes — I made mistakes," he said slowly. "For what Naruto went through… I truly apologize. It was never my intent for him to suffer."

Kasi's gaze didn't soften. He stood still, arms crossed, eyes locked on the Hokage with quiet fury.

Hiruzen continued, voice attempting calm:

"As for your family's estate and holdings… I will make sure they are returned to the Namikaze and Uzumaki name. You have my word."

The room fell silent.

Kasi tilted his head slightly, a faint, humorless smile forming on his lips.

"Your word?" he said quietly. "The same word that kept my nephew hungry, alone, and hated for eight years?"

No one dared to move.

Hiruzen's expression remained composed, but the weight of the words pressed down on everyone present. The clan heads stood in place — silent, restrained — yet the faint glint of disdain in their eyes didn't go unnoticed.

The civilian ninja, however, looked confused — whispering among themselves, unable to grasp. it seams like their strongest hokage was also capable of mistakes and was not the warm grand fatherly person the once thought he was.

No one dared to speak against the Hokage.

"Fine," kasi said at last, voice sharp but steady. "It should be done before this weekend. I want this same meeting again after one week."

He straightened, brushing some invisible dust from his sleeve, that careless smirk slowly returning to his face — the storm behind his eyes hidden once more.

"Thank you for your time, everyone," he said lightly, though his tone carried a mocking undertone. "And… make sure to leave your wills for your children. Tell them about it properly."

He turned slightly, his grin widening just a little.

"After all, who knows… otherwise, all your savings might end up under some clan's account — in the name of village funds." its my humble suggestion
