"Yoga, huh!?" Riya asked closing their door
" Yeah yoga." Katie said. "Since when did you start doing yoga or even putting ghost face masks. We've been roommates most of our lives and you've never done this." Riya burst out. " What, I started in the vacation cuz it's healthy... you should try it too." Katie said. "Don't tell me to try anything. It's like you're not even aware of the trouble you caused." Riya said.
"Wait, I caused trouble?!" Katie said. "This is exactly what I am talking about. I didn't know you're so dumb in the morning. You want to know if you caused trouble?! I'll tell you alright...first, you set a really loud alarm and didn't wake up to stop it, disturbing my sleep then you put on a ghost mask calling it a face mask making you as pale as shit, yo-" "Shit's not pale." Katie interrupted. "Trying to make a point, Katie... don't you interrupt me." Riya said. " Yes ma'am."
" As I was saying, you put a face mask to make you as pale as shit-" " Again shit's not pale." Katie interrupted again in a murmur. " I know that, Katie. Shit comes in different colors but if you try to interrupt me one more time, Katie I swear I'll show you the color of mine and trust me...you won't just be looking at it. Back to the point, you looked too lifeless and because of your 'massage dream'... your vitals were really faint and you weren't waking up no matter how I shook you so how could I not conclude that you had fainted. I went out and disrupted Stacy and Clara's sleep and I didn't just end there. We moved out and knocked on all the doors on this floor until one finally opened, we tell him about you and he agrees to come help and guess what we find when we come back to get you... you're doing ridiculous stretches and you're almost naked and worst of all, you hadn't fainted like we claimed. You made us look like fools in front of that incredibly handsome fellow." Riya said
"I know and I'm sorry but it's not like I'm the one who jumped to conclusions." Katie said. "Oh, so it's my fault then?!" " I didn't say that" "But that's exactly what you are implying." "Okay, I'm sorry but can we just put this behind us. I don't want our second day in college to be spoiled by this, okay... I'm sorry." Katie said sweet talking her. " Fine, I can let it go but I don't know about Stacy or that guy we just disturbed." Riya said.
"I'll talk to them." " You better." " I will." "Good, now I'm going back to bed to catch up on the sleep you disrupted, if you want to do yoga go do it in the living room, bathroom hallway, or wherever but not in here." Riya said. "Your wish is my command." Katie said getting ready to move out.
" Hey could you at least put on stretchy pants, that doesn't look like the best attire for yoga." Riya said. "Ayai, captain." Katie said searching her closet. " And oh, I wasn't kidding about the dorm meeting... it's for all freshers in the dorm and everyone must be there. It starts at 8 to the dot so it's best if you prepare yourself first and then you go to bed so that when it's time you just jump out of bed." Katie said. " That's like the smartest thing I've heard from you all morning." Riya said. " Ouch, that's offensive."
" It's nothing compared to all the offense you've given to us this early morning." Riya said." Fair enough." Katie then went to the living room to do yoga and Riya went to take a bath, put on a blue crop top and black tights then went back to bed.
It was 20 minutes to 8:00 when Katie sounded a wake up call by blowing one of those annoyingly loud whistles used on dogs and she didn't stop until they came out of their rooms.
"Urghhh... Katie for heaven's sake, quit that." Clara said yawning. "Goodness Katie... what are we... dogs?!" Riya said coming out. " Gosh Katie, I swear if you don't stop that right now...we'll have a real reason to take you to the infirmary this time."Stacy said irritated and it worked. " There's no need to get violent, jeez. Fists can't speak, you know." Katie said
"And we ain't dogs in case you hadn't noticed." Riya said. " I know that but hey look.... you're all up.!" Katie said and Stacy was surely going to pounce on her if it weren't for Clara holding her back. " You guys shouldn't see me as an enemy, you know. I just want you guys to get up and prepare for the meeting." Katie said. "But it wouldn't hurt to be late now would it?!" Clara said.
"Na-ah...it would. You'd lose credits." Katie said. "How when we haven't even chosen majors yet?" Stacy asked. "Do I somehow look like I had a hand in the writing of the school rules." Katie asked with sarcasm. "Riya, is your friend always like this?" Stacy asked. "No...no...she's normally the nice girl who has to stop me whenever I go overboard." Riya said.
"Really?! Cuz I don't see the nice girl!" Stacy said. "You know.. someone could have been done with taking a bath by now but here you are discussing me." Katie said. " Would hate to agree but Katie is right." Riya said." Now you too?!" Stacy exclaimed. "No that's not it it's just that I'm already done taking a bath." Riya said. "How could you?!" Stacy said with feigned pain as she slowly walked towards the bathroom, quickly went in and shut the door so that Clara didn't go before her.
They all got ready and rushed to the lounge room where the meeting was to be held and made it with 30 seconds to spare making them the last to arrive obviously.
"Good morning, everyone. My name is Cedric Four and I am your dorm's master and I'd like to start by welcoming you all to Stanford." he introduced himself and they clapped. Then Stacy raised her hand. "Yes Miss-" " Stacy" Stacy said. "Yes, Miss Stacy, what's your question?"Cedric asked. "You just said your name is Four so is it Four like the number 4?" she asked. " Yes, Stacy, it is like the number four."he replied. " So what happened one, two and three were taken." Riya commented thinking she said it in her head and yet she said it out loud. " Hahaha.. not funny. You're not the first to make that comment so it lost its touch." Cedric fake laughed and said as the other students were trying to hold back their laughter. " Did I just say that out loud?!" Riya whispered to Katie. "You sure did."
"So if they're no more inquiries about my name, let's proceed." Cedric said and they continued. He read to them the rules of the dorms and campus and about the clubs available where one should join at least two. The meeting ended at 10 and they dispersed.
"Riya, what were you thinking to say something like that?" Stacy asked when they got back to their room. "Oh, don't you act all saintly on me. You were going to say the same thing but I just somehow spoke your mind first." Stacy said. "Yeah you're right about that." Stacey admitted. "I knew it."
"Aren't you guys hungry?" Clara asked. "Actually...yeah! Let's order fries and pizza." Stacy said. "No, that's not happening. We can't have that for breakfast and that too in the room. We haven't even explored campus yet. Don't you want to see around?" Katie said. " No." " No." " I'm good." they all replied. " I'm not taking any of that. We are all going out and eating in the cafeteria and that's it." Katie said. " Jeez, you sound like my mom." Stacy said. " I was just about to say the same thing." Clara said. "Whatever! We're leaving." Katie said pushing them out of the door.
