Chapter 7 – You Have Already Chosen the Path of Death
Spirit Hall — Pope's Palace
At that moment, Bibi Dong was utterly dazed.
Wait—was she… about to be judged?
A foreboding chill crept over her heart.
She didn't realize it yet, but what was coming next would be her ultimate social death.
Still, a sliver of hope lingered within her.
In her mind, Su Yan was just pretending to be mysterious—how could he possibly peer into the river of time?
Even the first-generation Rakshasa God, as powerful as she was, could never achieve something like that.
Today, Bibi Dong was determined to expose this fraud for who he really was!
Heaven Dou City — Crown Prince's Mansion
Among everyone in the chat group, Qian Renxue was the most eager to hear Su Yan reveal Bibi Dong's life story.
Or rather, what she truly wanted to know was this—why did Bibi Dong treat her own daughter as an enemy?
Why did her mother despise her so deeply?
All her life, Qian Renxue had never understood. She was Bibi Dong's biological daughter, yet she was never loved—never favored. Even Bibi Dong's disciples were treated better than her.
Why?
Maybe, just maybe… today she would finally learn the answer.
But would she be able to accept that answer when it came?
Standing by the window, her long golden hair cascaded down her back like sunlight. Her cold, beautiful eyes quietly gazed toward the distant Spirit City.
Nuoding Academy — Dorm Seven
Su Yan buttoned his clothes and headed for the door. Talking about Bibi Dong?
Oh, that was a bottomless pit of drama.
There were so many things to mock about her that one session wouldn't even begin to cover them.
First things first—he needed food.
"Su Yan!"
Just as he stepped outside, a pink figure hopped toward him.
It was none other than the disgrace of the soul beast world—the rogue rabbit, Xiao Wu.
Su Yan stopped, giving her a somewhat helpless glance. Honestly, the current Xiao Wu… wasn't all that captivating.
Flat chest, narrow hips— A complete A-rank disappointment.
Now Zhu Zhuqing, on the other hand… that big cat was on a whole different level.
Of course, Xiao Wu had potential—give her time and she'd turn into a top-tier beauty.
The little rabbit circled him playfully, her curious eyes studying every inch of him.
She wanted to see if this "Su Yan" in front of her was the same Su Yan from the chat group—or if there was something different about him.
The little monkey on Su Yan's shoulder tilted its head, looking at Xiao Wu with a puzzled expression.
After her inspection, Xiao Wu frowned slightly, clearly disappointed.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"To the cafeteria," Su Yan replied calmly. "You need something?"
"Nope," Xiao Wu said cheerfully, smiling as her braid swayed. "I'll come with you!"
The silly little rabbit didn't ask directly about the chat group. Instead, she planned to follow him and see if she could spot the jade mirror soul tool he supposedly had.
Unfortunately for her, the idea itself was dumb.
Everyone's jade mirrors were bound within their spiritual seas—they couldn't even be seen physically.
Even her own was hidden in her spiritual sea. Did she really think Su Yan would just carry "It" around in his hand for her to see?
"Suit yourself," Su Yan said indifferently, heading toward the cafeteria.
He sighed inwardly. Ever since his appearance, this rabbit seemed less and less interested in Tang San.
Was she… drifting away from him already?
She didn't even act like his cute little sidekick anymore.
Xiao Wu stretched out her hand and called out to Su Yan's martial soul.
"Little San, come here!"
The monkey glanced at Su Yan, then leapt onto Xiao Wu's arm with a few cheerful chirps.
Clearly, the monkey and the rabbit got along pretty well.
And as for why Xiao Wu called the little monkey "Little San"—
Well, in her mind, she had simply categorized him like this:
Da Ming, Er Ming, and San Ming—the third brother.
Su Yan walked ahead, greeting a few classmates along the way.
Behind him, Xiao Wu followed while cuddling the little monkey. The bunny and the monkey each gnawed on a carrot, sharing the same favorite snack like kindred spirits.
As they walked, Xiao Wu sighed earnestly.
"Little San, the graduation tournament's coming up soon. You'd better be careful, okay? Other people's martial souls are intangible, but you're solid—you can actually get hurt."
The monkey blinked at her, bared its tiny teeth, and struck a fierce pose as if to say: I'm not someone to mess with anymore!
At the cafeteria entrance, Su Yan suddenly stopped and turned toward her.
"Little Rabbit," he asked casually, "you got a lot of money on you?"
Xiao Wu immediately clutched her small bunny-shaped purse, her expression alert and wary.
"What do you want?" she asked defensively. "That's my carrot fund!"
Su Yan put on a serious face. "It's Little Monkey's birthday today. I was planning to treat it to something nice, but I'm a little short on money. Mind lending me some?"
"Huh?" Xiao Wu blinked in surprise, lowering her head to look at the monkey in her arms.
"Little San… Is it your birthday?"
The monkey glanced from Xiao Wu to Su Yan, clearly confused.
Birthday?
What's that?
It didn't know what a birthday was—it had never had one before.
Still, Su Yan's word was law. After a moment's hesitation, the little monkey nodded vigorously in agreement.
Seeing that, Xiao Wu's heart softened—even though it pained her to part with her savings. She patted her little pouch and said, "Alright then! Big Sister Xiao Wu will treat you. Let's go upstairs and have a proper meal!"
Su Yan grinned and gave her a thumbs-up.
"Now that's generosity, Sister Xiao Wu!"
Shouldn't they celebrate properly with a good meal after activating the Golden Finger?
No money? No problem—let the rabbit treat!
And so, one man, one rabbit, and one monkey headed upstairs to the second floor of the cafeteria.
First Floor, Cafeteria
Tang San had just finished eating when he glanced up—and froze.
There was Su Yan, heading upstairs… with Xiao Wu.
Something didn't add up.
Does Su Yan have money to eat on the second floor?
Tang San couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Sure, all students got a monthly stipend as soul masters, but Su Yan's expenses were absurd—he paid for two meals every time!
One for himself, and one for his martial soul.
He even bought clothes for the little monkey!
Utterly ridiculous!
It was just a martial soul, like Teacher's Luo Sanpao—a "useless" one at that. Even if it had a physical form, did it really need to eat food and wear clothes?
Completely incomprehensible.
But the more he thought about Su Yan and Xiao Wu being alone together, the more his chest ached—like a knife twisting in his heart.
After a moment of hesitation, Tang San stood up and went upstairs.
Second Floor, Cafeteria
To celebrate the monkey's "birthday," Xiao Wu didn't hold back at all. By the time Tang San arrived, she and Su Yan were already feasting at a table loaded with delicious dishes—there was even a strawberry cake!
Tang San froze.
Had this bastard… struck gold or something?
So many good dishes, and a cake?
What was he trying to do—pursue Xiao Wu?!
Damn it!
You've already chosen the path of death.
Tang San's expression darkened as he strode over to their table.
Su Yan, Xiao Wu, and the monkey were eating happily, oblivious to his approach—until he sat down beside them.
Xiao Wu looked up. "Tang San, have you eaten?"
"If not, come join us!"
Su Yan picked up a piece of meat and added with a smile, "Yeah, Tang San, come on. Xiao Wu ordered a lot—we probably can't finish everything ourselves."
Tang San shook his head slightly. "I already ate downstairs."
But inside, his mood was foul.
The three of you?
That useless martial soul gets a seat at the table too?
The monkey glanced at him, baring its tiny fangs again as if saying—Keep acting smug, and I'll send you flying.
