Chapter 9: Bibi Dong's Terrifying Power
"Bleh~!"
Xiao Wu stuck out her tongue and made a face at Tang San and Yu Xiaogang's departing figures.
"Su Yan, don't be afraid," she said with a confident grin. "If Tang San and Yu Xiaogang dare to cause you trouble, Sister Xiao Wu will beat them up for you."
Su Yan's lips curved into a faint smile.
Afraid?
Please.
His golden finger—his cheat ability—had already awakened. Why would he be scared of Mother's Binding?
If it weren't for the fact that he didn't yet know where that damned rat was hiding, he would've sent that master-disciple duo flying today.
"Eat up. Don't waste food."
Su Yan casually replied, sitting back down to continue devouring his meal.
---
On the other side, Tang San followed Yu Xiaogang all the way back to the latter's office.
Tang San's face was complicated as he finally spoke, "Teacher, I…"
Yu Xiaogang waved his hand, cutting him off. "I already know what happened."
Tang San blinked in surprise. "Teacher, you know what went on today?"
Yu Xiaogang's voice turned calm and meaningful. "Xiao San, I've been through the same things. I know you've always liked Xiao Wu, and that today's conflict must've stemmed from that, right?"
Tang San lowered his head and murmured a quiet "Mn."
Yu Xiaogang continued, "I told you before, Su Yan is just good for nothing. His martial soul is defective—he can't break through to Rank 30. He'll never be able to keep up with you and Xiao Wu."
"However…" His tone darkened slightly. "Since he dared to challenge you today, it's time to teach him a lesson. Beat him hard enough, and he'll learn his place."
Tang San hesitated. "I wanted to do that too, but I knew Xiao Wu would stop me. I don't want to fight with her."
Yu Xiaogang nodded approvingly. "In a few days, your graduation match will take place. That's the perfect opportunity. You can give him a good beating then."
He smiled faintly. "That way, Xiao Wu will clearly see the gap between you and Su Yan."
Tang San's eyes lit up instantly. He nodded heavily. "Yes, Teacher. I understand."
Meanwhile, at the cafeteria—
Su Yan, Xiao Wu, and the little monkey all ate until their stomachs were bulging.
One human, one rabbit, and one monkey waddled out of the dining hall together.
"Xiao Wu, thanks for the meal today," Su Yan said with a grin. "I'll get busy now. Once I strike it rich, I'll treat you to ten big feasts to repay you!"
Xiao Wu huffed softly. "You don't need to treat me. Just buy more good food for Little Monkey."
"Of course," Su Yan nodded, then waved and walked off.
Rubbing her round belly, Xiao Wu sighed. Though she was a little heartbroken about spending money, she didn't regret it. After all, Little Monkey was like her third brother.
"Wait—Su Yan! Hold on a sec…"
But by the time she called out, Su Yan was already gone.
Only then did Xiao Wu remember why she had gone to find him in the first place—to investigate whether this Su Yan was the same Su Yan from the mysterious chat group!
Not only did she fail to get any information, but she also lost a meal in the process!
Just as she was fuming, a notification suddenly popped up in her mind.
[Su Yan: Everyone ready with your melon seeds and snacks?]
[Su Yan: If you're ready, type 1—we're about to start the story.]
[Everyone: 111!!!]
Inside the chat group, Ning Rongrong and the others had already been waiting eagerly—snacks and melon seeds at the ready.
They were dying to eat melon—figuratively speaking.
[Bibi Dong: Go on. This Pope wants to see how long you can keep up this act.]
[Su Yan: Then I'll begin. Watch carefully. If you think I got anything wrong, feel free to correct me.]
Under a quiet tree, Su Yan reclined lazily. Since no one else was around, the little monkey—sensible as ever—had already started cultivating its soul power after finishing its meal.
Meanwhile, Su Yan started typing furiously in the group.
[Su Yan: Bibi Dong—the youngest Pope in the history of the Spirit Hall, its most powerful and brilliant leader. Founder of the Spirit Empire, its first Empress, one of the Slaughter City's Death Gods, the second twin-martial soul possessor in a hundred years, the first in history to overcome the backlash of twin martial souls, and the inheritor of a first-class god—the Rakshasa God.]
[Su Yan: Your disciple Hu Liena once said you were a tragic person. But in my eyes, pitiful people are never without their flaws.]
[Cat in the Shadows: ???]
[Seven Treasure Little Princess: What?! Death God? Twin Martial Souls? Rakshasa God's inheritor?!]
[Yan Zi is Not a Swallow: Bibi Dong, is that true? You're that powerful?]
[My Surname is Not Yu: Old woman, are you really that strong?]
[Little Fox: Su Yan, don't talk nonsense! When did Hu Liena ever say that? I—I mean, I have a friend named Hu Liena, and I'm sure she never said that!]
[Carrot Lover: Bibi Dong! I swear, one day I'll defeat you!]
[Group Member No.9: As expected of a legendary Pope! Impressive!]
[I Am an Orphan: Bibi Dong, have you really inherited the Rakshasa God's legacy?]
In the Pope's Palace.
Bibi Dong's eyes widened slightly in shock.
Death God of the Slaughter City.
Twin Martial Souls.
Rakshasa God's inheritor.
These were secrets known only to a handful of people. Especially the matter of the Rakshasa inheritance—aside from that old fossil Qian Daoliu, no one else should have had even the slightest clue.
How… How could Su Yan possibly know?
[Bibi Dong: Continue.]
Everyone in the chat group froze.
She didn't deny it.
A chill ran down their spines.
They had always known Bibi Dong was strong—but this strong? Apparently, what they'd seen before was only the tip of the iceberg.
The true Bibi Dong was terrifying beyond imagination.
Bibi Dong—so terrifying indeed!
[Su Yan: You were an orphan. Because of your extraordinary talent, Qian Daoliu brought you to Spirit City, and Qian Xunji accepted you as his disciple. You became the Saintess of the Spirit Hall. Your twin martial souls are the Death Spider Emperor and the Soul Devouring Spider Emperor.]
[Su Yan: Though you were an orphan, your childhood was happy. Qian Daoliu treated you like his granddaughter, and Qian Xunji raised you as the next Pope. You lived a life of luxury, adored by everyone—like a princess. Am I wrong?]
Inside the Pope's Palace, Bibi Dong gripped a small jade mirror so tightly her knuckles turned white.
The mention of Qian Xunji triggered a storm of painful memories—her expression twisted with barely contained rage and anguish.
Fortunately, the mirror in her hand emitted a faint warmth that slowly calmed her emotions, preventing her from shattering it for the third time that day.
[Bibi Dong: Yes.]
[Su Yan: What a pity. Your life should have been glorious, radiant like a blooming flower. But because of one man—a worthless scum—it all fell into a pit of endless darkness.]
[Su Yan: That man… is the so-called 'renowned Grandmaster' of the continent—Yu Xiaogang, the Trash Grandmaster.]
[Bibi Dong: Silence! You have no right to insult Xiao Gang! Do you even understand how hard he's worked?]
[My Surname is Not Yu: Su Yan, don't mix personal bias with fact! Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang is respected across the continent! He's talented and wise, not some trash as you claim!]
[Seven Treasure Little Princess: Wait… you mean that Grandmaster—the one who proposed the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls?]
[Carrot Lover: Yu Xiaogang… is that the same guy who can't break past Rank 29?]
[Yan Zi is Not a Swallow: I've heard of him! "There are no useless martial souls, only useless soul masters," right? My grandpa told me that story before!]
[Yan Zi is Not a Swallow: He's the perfect negative example!]
